With the water surrounding the path there are some great opportunities to catch some pretty spectacular sunsets (I would guess sunrises, but that's a little too early for my liking). You can find people fishing, jogging, waling their dogs, teens hanging out. Attracts a wide variety of people. Also, not a bad place to walk out and grab a park bench and enjoy an ice cream with that someone special. As for the wildlife side of things, we haven't really encountered anything other than a butterfly or two and some birds. At dusk watch out for the mosquitoes, they can be a little annoying. Otherwise a good spot to take a walk.

Since there was 5 of us, we needed two boats and two guides. Both Captains Phillip and Scott were amazing. Our large catch of the day was over 6 pounds. Proof is in the photos. Our guides knew the lake inside and out and they worked every possible spot with success. I highly recommend Captain Shane and his team. It's worth the flight, the drive, and the time. Captain Shane was helpful in providing guidance for the best places to stay (Lake Guntersville State Park Lake Cabins), and restaurants including Big Mikes and La Esquina which is owned by an amazing young family. My guide suggested "top o the river" for the fresh catfish dinner, also a great time!

When we asked to kayak, they apologized because when it rains they do not rent them out. This is now due to a few younger people having to have rescue called out. Lodge Falls This easy to find waterfall is located just behind DeSoto's Lodge. Lodge Falls drops about 25 feet and is very rainfall dependant. The best view point of this waterfall is reached by hiking down into a small ravine and then getting on the yellow trail for a short distance and coming back out next to the Lodge. This is a great waterfall.
