Unfortunately, my visit ended before it even started: card payments are not accepted - no debit cards, no credit cards, not even contactless via phone or smartwatch. In 2025, this is not only outdated, but also highly inconvenient. Like many people nowadays, I don't carry cash - and because of that, I had to leave without being able to order anything. It's a real shame, as I would have happily stayed and supported the business. A modern hospitality venue should meet the basic expectations of its guests - and that includes offering card payments. Until this is addressed, the place remains inaccessible to many potential customers.

To wash it down, I recommend Früh Kölsch. I know I know, it's Dusseldorf, one ought to be drinking Altbier. Personally, I prefer Kölsch and it just fits better with the spice of the currywurst. In the end, currywurst is really a cheap street food. If you want to pay a bit more and sit down with a group (there's outdoor seating too), then this is great stop while walking along the Rhine.
