I retained Peter Francis Geraci for my Chapter 13 bankruptcy in February 2023 and paid approximately $4,000 for representation. Unfortunately, my experience with the Merrillville office has been consistently frustrating, disorganized, and unprofessional. My primary concerns include: 1. Repeated inaccurate and conflicting information Throughout my case, I was regularly given different answers depending on who I spoke with. Staff members frequently contradicted each other regarding important matters, including selling my home during bankruptcy, required documentation, motion fees, timelines, and payoff expectations. For example, when I asked about selling my home, Supervisor Rodney Greer informed me the approval process would take approximately 45 days and that certain motion fees would be deducted from proceeds after closing. Later, I was unexpectedly told I owed a $199 fee upfront, which directly contradicted prior information. Only after I challenged this inconsistency was the fee waived. I was also told by Rodney Greer in October 2025 that after selling my home, I would likely have enough funds to pay off my bankruptcy and receive remaining proceeds. Later, Lavita Ball informed me that I may not have enough funds to pay off the bankruptcy at all and might still be required to complete the full 60-month plan. This type of conflicting guidance created unnecessary confusion and anxiety. 2. Poor communication and lack of responsiveness It was extremely difficult to get clear answers or timely callbacks. Calls often went unanswered, messages were delayed, and I repeatedly had to physically visit the office just to get basic information. At one point, I went into the office simply to ask where to submit sale documents, and staff provided me with an incorrect email address, which delayed my transaction. Additional required documents were later requested only after I followed up myself, causing even more delays. 3. Unprofessional staff conduct Several staff interactions were highly inappropriate and unprofessional. During one meeting, a staff member responded to my financial concerns by asking, "Who don't you like? Who are you beefing with that you don't want to pay?" This comment was inappropriate, irrelevant, and unprofessional in a legal setting. On another occasion, when I called with questions regarding a court notice, staff member Camille asked me unrelated questions that had nothing to do with my case and appeared unable to explain basic legal documents or next steps. When I requested someone knowledgeable, I was either placed on hold indefinitely or given incomplete information. It was concerning to repeatedly interact with front office staff who did not appear knowledgeable enough to explain common bankruptcy procedures, court notices, or objections accurately. 4. Errors and delays during home sale process The sale of my home while in Chapter 13 was mishandled from start to finish. There were clerical errors in filings that caused objections and hearing delays, pushing back my approval timeline and putting my buyer at risk. My buyer's locked interest rate was close to expiring due to these delays, creating significant emotional distress and financial uncertainty. Even after my home closed on February 6, 2026, additional issues continued. My mortgage servicer later contacted me stating the payoff was short by $302.52, indicating funds were not properly disbursed. Despite notifying the office multiple times, I was repeatedly passed around without clear answers or resolution. 5. Difficulty accessing management Whenever I requested to speak with a supervisor, I was often told they were unavailable or given excuses as to why I could not meet with them. As a paying client dealing with major legal and financial matters, I should have had reasonable access to supervisory staff when concerns escalated. Resolution requested: I am filing this complaint to document the repeated misinformation, lack of communication, clerical mistakes, and unprofessional conduct I experienced at the Merrillville office. Bankruptcy is already an extremely stressful and vulnerable process. Clients deserve accurate information, competent staff, professionalism, and timely communication. My experience with Peter Francis Geraci, specifically the Merrillville office and staff including Rodney Greer, Camille, and others involved in my case, did not meet those expectations. I hope this complaint prompts review of staff training, communication practices, and case management procedures to prevent other clients from experiencing similar issues. read more

Just flat out took my money, no refund and was very rude about it. I will never recommend anyone here. Now I have to start over

Worst communication. You will never know exactly how much you pay is going to your debtors you never see statement saying current balance.

Went in to Downers location to discuss our situation and find out options. Woman at the front and the lawyer in the back wouldn't even meet with us until they had our IDs and all our personal confidential information in writing. They say the initial consultation is free but they don't tell you they want all your information before they'll even meet with you. PFG is a BK factory. We're going to find a firm that treats clients like people. read more

Horrible experience I paid and hired them and when I had a situation happen and reached out to them which I have proof of I got no guidance or real answers for three months when they finally reached back out to me I was told my case was being dropped in less then a week and basically I was out thousands of dollars do not trust this law firm read more

This guy name "Steve" that answers the phone for the consultation for bankruptcy was a huge a$$hole ! Hung the phone up on me and then when I called back it was a answer and nothing was said. So I called from another number and when he heard my voice he hung up again. So I gave it a few minutes and called back to get his name and he only gave me the name "Steve". I ask to speak to another person he puts me on hold for 8 minutes then hung up again! Totally turned me off from even doing business with this company! read more

Had used service years ago and recommended it for my mother but when I called and asked a question the womans response was so rude and Condescending that I ended the call and upon calling back found out paralegals man a switch board and I spoke to her supervisor who didn't even apologize and promised someone would be calling back but NEVER did so my 2K in fee went to another firm that Appreciated my business! DO BETTER! (Wonder how much business they lose and have no clue about Hmm...) read more

Piss poor service. Had to opt out of Bankruptcy and figure out another solution as they did not help me at all. Both Kyle and Rick are pieces of shit and do their clients any way they want. I recommend to go to any other Bankruptcy attorneys under a different umbrella rather than choosing the Peter Francis Geraci program. read more

I was very clear and open about what I wanted out of my case, and yes I understood that it's black and white and no wiggle room. Chapter 13 is up to 2 trustees and according to Dale, he knew what she was like and would except so after almost 300 messages back and forth I thought we had an understanding and the next message I received I was informed that my case was dismissed and wished good luck. I called to speak to a supervisor since that's what Mr Geraci said to do and after 2 days of insisting I get a call back I spoke to a supervisor and explained that after I was given bad advise the least they could do is waive the fees and refill for me since I was and am needing the relief. After talking to him for 35 min he said that he wished me luck but would not be working with me anymore. So I ended up paying over $1000 for nothing but more stress, they felt they did nothing wrong. Now I have a BK in my wife's and my credit report for they next 7 years and creditors are now calling for their money. I feel that Geraci has been the go to for BK for so long that they are use to customers that are easy money for them and if they are not they ping pong them and then just give up. All the attorneys had to do is advise me on how to get my case approved since they knew the trustee and what she would accept. They just gave up on me and left me holding the bag. So if you do hire them since they are the BK gurus don't ask too many questions and accept your fate read more

Geraci law firm was working with us at first but then after getting their money from trustee they switched their tune and sided with judge and trustee when issues occurred with our plan. Just not treat middle class family very well read more

Everything started out fine. I had the consultation and was told what I needed to do to get the ball rolling. It has been 2 weeks since I completed performing all of my pre-required tasks, paid the filing fee and trekked to the office on Cicero 3 separate times, during rush hour, from 35th and State to 4200 North Cicero! I have called every day last week. Creditors are calling my cell constantly (I have to use my cell for work). It is very distracting receiving these calls while trying to conduct business! Why has Attorney Wylie Mok not filed my case? Each day that I contact him (by way of the Elimadebt site, where they supposedly provide case updates-NOT!), I get a message that they have some menial task to perform and then my case will be filed. I received that message yesterday, case still not filed. I am now afraid to contact the office again in fear that the filing will be delayed indefinitely. I am at the mercy of Peter Francis Geraci, in my greatest time of need, and I'm being ignored. So many others seem to have much different and more positive stories than mine. They get you into the office to sign the contract to initiate services and then leave you hanging. Look elsewhere for debt relief assistance. I wish I had. read more

I'm not one to write reviews about services I receive.... however, I just came from the office of Peter Francis Geraci and it was a terrible experience. I felt racially profiled and demeaned. I had a scheduled appointment for 12 PM to see an attorney at 55 E Monroe. When I arrived, I approached the front desk to sign in. The person at the front desk verified my appointment and proceeded to ask me for paperwork. I asked how long it will be because the attorney I had the appointment with took on another client. I explained that I was on lunch. What I didn't explain was that when I previously made the appointment, it was my 2nd appointment and I was told that it would not be an issue during my lunch. The guy at the front desk (Matt), told me that it would be long. This is when it went completely downhill. As he went down the list to ask me what did I bring for my second appointment, he was very curt and made condescending remarks. For example: Him - "Do you have copies of your paycheck?" Me - "Yes" (gives it to him), Him - "Great.... double sided, this will take a while." After the 3rd remark, I asked him for his name, to give me my paperwork back and to let me speak to a supervisor. Of course, once again, he had to say another smart remark. He told me that I would have to wait because the supervisor that I'm requesting is the attorney that I had an appointment with. At this point, I called the 800 number to complain about this employee. Matt comes out of the office to hand me more paperwork to sign. I told him that I did not want to speak to him and I asked for my own paperwork back for a reason. I'm on the phone making a complaint and this guy stands there to taunt me. He is making remarks while I'm on the phone. I don't know what he said to the attorney when he went back into the office because I heard the attorney yelling. The attorney said, "If she has to wait, she will wait because I'm going to lunch!" Another attorney comes out to speak to me, with the same paperwork I turned away from Matt. At this point, I don't want to even have any interaction with anyone in the office but I spoke with him. I told him it's unprofessional the way I'm being spoken to. Long story short, my original attorney did apologize. He did say that they've had problems with Matt and I was the 3rd person to complain about him this week. He also said that Matt gave him another impression. I did get the feeling that this Matt felt like nothing would happen to him and he would not be reprimanded. read more

I had way over $10,000 in credit card debt and owned a townhouse as well as my house and car. I went in for consultation at the Geracis office and they took time with me and went over what my options were to keep my two houses and car. I love the fact that they are a phone call away to answer any of my questions. I also email and get a fast response. I filed Chapter 13 and paying everyone back 100 percent and could not breath better. I have been assigned attorney Dale A. Riley. Dale A. With great pleasure, I want to express my gratitude for the fine work and guidance of Jonathan, my Attorney at Geraci Law. I never expected to find myself facing financial issues. After speaking with a very good friend of mine who recommended Geraci Law to me, I remained apprehensive to what I would face going forward. I had heard horror stories about other companies in the same line of business. My friend convinced me that she had a very positive experience with Geraci Law at one of the suburban offices, trusting her, I decided to call. The day I met with Jonathan, my Attorney in the downtown office, changed everything. Jonathan is the ultimate professional, having said that, he's also funny which helped to relieve much of the stress that I walked in with, he's extremely knowledgeable, and gets back to me promptly. He walked me through all of my options, so that I know what to expect and worked out a reasonable solution for my situation. I feel so much better now! My husband and I had been admiring the paintings on the wall signed "Geraci". To our surprise, just as we were wrapping up our meeting with Jonathan, Attorney Peter Francis Geraci, walked in to speak with Jonathan. Attorney Geraci gave us a tour of all of his wonderful paintings-what a treat! Attorney Geraci, is down to earth, very approachable, and who would have thought he would have given us an art tour of all his art work! What a phenomenal meeting! I've also had an opportunity to speak with some of the other staff members like Rick and Nick who are also engaging and eager to help. If you ever find yourself in a financial bind, make your appointment with Geraci Law! read more

My experiences with this firm were absolutely on target with my expectations. For my initial visit, I came prepared, as I was informed by Atty Parker. My case was handled professionally, whether on phone or at court. My Atty at the firm was very understanding of my then situation and allowed me to make payments based on that situation. I have nothing to sad negative, as my credit is being rebuilt as I type.
