After checking on Yelp for a professional group, I received a few calls regarding my need. I wasn't able to use the first contact and initially thought I was not going to be able to use the second company, but boy am I extremely happy I did. Mr. Santos was "Johnny on the spot". He was very professional via our text messages and answered all of my questions. He was also the first of two or three respondents who actually came to the location to give me a free quote. And he actually came the day we text. After carefully weighing my options, I chose Santos. He and his crew all arrived prior to the scheduled time of around 8am. He speaks Spanish and English, while his crew spoke Spanish. They had all of their equipment setup and had started cutting the tree limbs before I left for work. My husband is retired, so he was home to observe. They did not stop for a break until after 1:00pm for lunch and to dispose of the tree parts already loaded on their trailer. When I arrived home from work (between 330-345pm) the tree was no longer standing and they were cutting the last of the trunk in sections in order to load it for disposal. They even moved a couple of pieces of the trunk to our carport to use for a project. My husband and I were extremely happy with the work and were very appreciative of the service that was provided by Santos' Hauling and Demolition. They came out, gave a great quote of $1500 and we hired them for the services a few weeks later. The install went good - all seemed well. Then three weeks later to the day, we had a good Arkansas rain storm and the culvert washed out and traveled about 1/4 mile to our neighbors house. We asked to see how much it would cost to come and get it put back in - knowing that some gravel would probably be needed and some cost would be acceptable. The quote was another $700! The response from the owner was that "they do stand behind their work but they do not stand behind nor do they control Mother Nature." Ironically, that is exactly what we hired them to do - control water (Mother Nature) via a culvert under a drive pad they installed. In this new development, ours was the only culvert to have failed catastrophically. We cannot, under good conscious, recommend them based on our experience.
