We are building a pool in our backyard, and needed a concrete contractor to pour a concrete decking all around the pool. After much deliberation and interviewing 5 different contractors, we hired Sierra's Concrete to do the concrete decking. They were the most responsive, had the best suggestions, and they had a large selection of photos of their previous work online. Their contracted work entailed: 1 - digging an 87 feet long, 6 feet deep French drain around the pool 2 - installing surface drains to collect rain water 3 - forming and pouring a roughly 1500 square feet deck according to our custom design Sierra's Concrete performed the work to perfection, ahead of schedule, and left the place cleaner than how they found it. It was a real pleasure to witness their performance. Their dedication, coordination, attention to detail and work ethic all shone during the 6 days that they spent here. I never witnessed any heated temper or frustration, the entire crew worked in perfect harmony in a relaxed but professional atmosphere. You could tell that they enjoyed working together and took great pride in their work. Cesar had excellent suggestions to improve on my design. I never had to ask him to do anything twice, and he was true to his word until the very end. His team worked relentlessly, barely ever taking breaks, moving from one task to the next without ever getting into each others' way. They left the site immaculate, even taking the time to pressure wash the driveway. They went above and beyond the call of duty at every step of the way. The end result of their combined effort exceeded our expectations. Cesar is a maestro, and he orchestrated everything with talent and brio. He and every member of his team are true artists. Part one of a two part foundation project Recently we had…read moreour house foundation repaired by Groundworks out of Fairfield. One bedroom had sunk by almost 5 inches as that part of the house had been built on fill. In order to restore the house to it's proper level numerous foundation jacks and floor leveling screw jacks were required. In addition some landscaping bushes and pvc sprinkler pipes had to temporarily removed. Groundworks had informed me prior to starting work what would be required to successfully complete this project and had my full approval. The house is now level, the doors no longer swing on their own and the interior cracks between the walls and ceiling joints no longer exist. Prior to the crew leaving the yard was cleaned up and the pvc pipes replaced. Best of all Groundworks will come back annually to the next 5 years and make any necessary adjustments. The Groundworks crew that made this happen was Andrew, the site supervisor, Charlie and Allen. Their performance and daily communication was superior on all levels. This is part 2. The Groundworks Poly crew of Anthony & Brian were very fast and efficient in completing their part of the foundation repair contract which was to level our family room slab floor. Fast, yes, but Anthony did take the time to not only explain what they were going to do but also walked me through the process as they were working. I have no problem in recommending them & Groundworks to other home owners who need to have their foundation repaired.

I know nothing about construction or faoundations, so we had to rely on Sean Maloney to give us a fair estimate, which they did. Their bid wasn't the lowest, but they impressed us because they took the time to tell us all we needed to know, which gave us a peace of mind. When the work was scheduled to begin, the people at Maloney were there on time. They met our deadlines and did not exceed our budget. The work was excellent and my mother-in-law lives in the addition right now. I can recommend the people at Maloney Construction. We had heard a bunch of nightmare stories about our friends' bad experiences with other comntractors, but Maloney came through in a big way.

They even created concrete tiles to create a very modern, aesthetically pleasing look around the entire pool. I needed a small structure to house my pool equipment and they did a perfect job. They have attention to detail and they are very customer service oriented. They always promptly replied to any special requests and they truly want you to be happy with the final project. Ben and his team always clean up and they don't mind expanding their scope of work. They are not a company that will nickel and dime you with every small change. I chose RWR - they were the middle bid, and Tony impressed my geologist partner with his expertise. RWR moved quickly once the city FINALLY issued the permit, and completed the job on time. There were a couple of change orders due to the geotech, but I felt the changes were fair. I hope to never build another retaining wall, but I would use RWR if I did.

We got three bids, surprisingly all quite close in price, which made me a little suspicious until I talked to a friend who had a pretty similar project (with a different contractor) and his was just about the same price. So we decided to go with RWR. We are just so pleased that we did. We recently completed a total gut renovation of our old home, and they were by far the best contractors we dealt with in the entire process. Always punctual, did exactly what they said, and when they said they'd do it. The work is impeccable, and their foreman Mauricio and senior supervisor Victor were just a delight. They cleaned up every day, and at the end, they left the property in exactly the condition it was when they started. I rarely like to leave totally glowing reviews, but this is one of those times.
