I can't recommend Brittany and Gracefull Senior Bathing Care highly enough. We live in California…read moreand aren't from the area, so when my mother in law went on hospice we had no idea where to even start or who to call. Finding Brittany was such a blessing. She came to our home three days a week to provide hands on care, and she brought a level of compassion, patience, and professionalism that made an incredibly difficult time so much easier for our whole family. Brittany handled everything with such gentleness, bathing, changing bedding, and helping with all the routine hygiene care that comes with end of life care. She never once made my mother in law feel like a burden or like she was just a task to get through. She treated her with dignity and warmth every single visit, and she was just as kind and reassuring to the rest of us as we navigated a really hard chapter. What stood out most was her reliability and her heart. She showed up on time, every time, and she genuinely cared, not just about doing the job well, but about my mother in law's comfort and wellbeing as a person. That kind of care can't be taught, it's just who Brittany is. When a loved one passes everything stops. The chaos suddenly goes away and you're left feeling alone and people stop showing up. When mom passed, Brittany showed up for hugs because she knew we needed it as we had no one in the area to do that with. She recently started Gracefull Senior Bathing Care, and honestly, anyone who hires her is lucky to have her. If you're out of your element and don't know where to turn for care like this, do yourself a favor and call Brittany. We are so grateful we found her.

Especially the left one that he ASSURED ME "wouldn't be a problem", well....IT'S a PROBLEM. There are days the kiddie if they left foot hurts so badly, I can't do stairs, AT ALL! (Not good in a 3 story house!). THE tie (1) I originally had trouble with, is FAR worse than before ANY of the surgeries he done on it. The "original", the corrective, the corrective to the current ice, the corrective ones to fix his corrections, ,the correction for the broken rod......Etc. The two toes that started TURNING after surgery to straighten them from curving, are STILL turning (twisting), AJD he clipped the leaders in the bottom, so they hang out well past my big toe, which they never did, by now it's just plain freakish. It's horrible pain to wear shoes, was already in a 13. I asked SPECIFICALLY on two SEPERATE VISITS about each tOE,?if they become an issue it cause problems. (One, WHILE washing his hands, he glanced AT ME and said "None"! The other, I went for X-rays of both feet, they had me leave shoes and socks off, he came in and told me the X-rays looked fine and started out. I asked about her other one, "what about the 2nd toe,?the one that's TWISTING, will it be an issue?" Never looking back, not at me, nit looking surprised, but straight for the door, he replied, "No, it'll be fine". ) MAYBE it be will, he didn't specify if he meant , full time, in SEVERAL years, after I'm dead, or what. So, maybe after death it will be fine'! I don't want to rush to judgement. I just know for now....it hurts like hell. Due to daily life with this mess....I'm changing the 2 stars to one, it won't let me give less. I'd THOUGHT the way (a couple if then) pretended to care, and on SOME days were actually nice, that after the first review, they'd call and say "sorry about that", even if he didn't have the ethics to say "I'll fix it if you allow!" Or,,"ok, so I answered, not knowing what you were talking about because I didn't even look or know what I was answering "No" too, but if you'll come back I'll look and see if I should have paid more attention, or if I just lied and didn't care!" But.....NOTHING, not even a comment. I guess I should have figured something changed when he was always so busy/eager to get in and out, (NOT busy with patients!!!!). That he put he steroid shot in the wrong foot, and then said, "was that right, or dud I put that in he wrong foot?" I guess it was up to me, who knew????

The…read moreCaritas team was phenomenal in caring for him, answering the many questions of us the family, and reaching out to the family with education and heart care. All of the staff we encountered were professional, very caring, and had many years of medical experience from varied medical disciplines. They were amazingly accessible and encouraged us to call any time day or night when we had questions, and they moved very quickly to meet my father's needs as those needs changed. They cooridinated care with the assisted living which was very helpful. My father bounced back well under their care (with their staff generaly seeing him in person 5 days a week) and it alleviated a lot of care-giving by us the family. When a new medical event occurred for my father, they sprang into action to provide comfort care and prepare us for his final days and hours. Very thankful for all their care of us in the challenging season. It provided for his passing in the environment he wanted (not in a hospital) that far exceeded what we could have done on our own.

Unprofessional and Unethical…read more I'll preface this review with my daughter had a healthy, safe delivery after getting her to the hospital. However, I give no credit to her midwife, Sarah Boswell or her assistant, Holly. I found them both unprofessional and unethical. While some of the examples of unprofessionalism and lack of ethics are from my first meeting with Boswell, it was the labor and delivery experience that I found most troubling as both midwives employed manipulative and bully tactics to deter any change to the birthing plan. I met Boswell several months before the delivery at the invitation of my daughter. One of the first things she said to me, upon learning I had epidurals and delivered all three of my children in a hospital was "Let me tell you, when a woman chooses to not use pain medication, she can own her birthing experience." At that same visit, Boswell told us how Britain had a much higher live birth rate and were encouraging more home births. She denounced hospitals as being too quick to do Cesarean sections in order to get more money. This was an easy enough stat to investigate and I found numerous studies in reputable journals that all credited Britain's higher live birth rate to the fact that they almost exclusively use C-sections to deliver. This was more than misunderstanding the data, it was a calculated fabrication meant to mislead her client. Toward the end of this meeting, Boswell, learning that we own a farm and I like senior animals, commented that she had a horse who was about 30 years of age and required soft food. She then said "I've thought about slipping our vet a hundred dollars to tell my daughter the horse needs to be put down." Maybe she was joking, but it was very unprofessional to say. During the early stages of labor, Boswell gave my daughter some exercises to do to help with labor and the position of the baby. This was called the mile circuit. One of those exercises, the inversion, required her to place her knees on the edge of the couch and lean down to the floor, putting stress on her respiratory system. She wanted my daughter to hold that pose for 10 minutes. This, at best seemed useless and at worst, physically stressful. After being in labor for 36 hours, my son-in-law made the decision that the delivery needed to happen in the hospital. My daughter was delirious from pain and exhaustion. Her water had been broken for a while and the risk of infection was increasing, while there was no progress on delivery. Boswell was evasive about how much progress was being made during delivery. After two hours of hard pushing, she said that she could feel the baby's head and using her finger to demonstrate, said the baby was "this far" from coming out. She used the first two digits of her middle finger as a visual, indicating about two inches. About two hours later, when my daughter asked for an update, all Boswell would say was "she's getting close." I, using my middle finger as a visual to indicate about two inches, said "You said before she was this close, is she any closer?" Boswell gave me a dirty look then said "no." When Boswell and Holly realized the hospital was a real possibility, they began using scare tactics and fear-mongering to get my daughter to change her mind. With me in the room, Boswell repeatedly said she probably wouldn't have time for an epidural. Holly actually told my daughter she might end up being given fentanyl instead of an epidural. Knowing how potent fentanyl is, for her to bring this up was nothing short of trying to terrify my daughter. I asked the hospital nurses if fentanyl was ever an option and they looked shocked but said in very, very rare instances it might be used for severe pain. Boswell repeatedly told my daughter that she was so close to having the baby, she should continue to try. At this point, my daughter had no strength left and couldn't even grip my hand when she "pushed." She hadn't had the strength for more than an hour to push. Boswell and Holly said she'd only been pushing for an hour, but the reality was my daughter had been pushing for at least four hours and was exhausted. Neither of them noticed that my daughter hadn't been pushing at all. I knew she hadn't been pushing because I was holding her legs and her hand. There was no pressure from either of those. By contrast, once we got her to the hospital, she was given an epidural and told to rest. About an hour after this, active labor began and when she pushed, I held her legs and could actually feel how hard she was pushing. Their lack of ethics and adherence to best practices make them a liability.

Addressing the 1 star review as the actual person giving birth. my experience with Sarah was…read moreexceptional! Sarah was absolutely magnificent the entire pregnancy and birth. Any time I had a concern she was quick to respond and able to give me sound holistic advice which was what I wanted. My parents disagreed with my home birth from the get go and went into it without an open mind. I had a very healthy pregnancy amd only had to do a hospital transfer due to exhaustion. my baby was crooked and there was no way for even the hospital to know that. Im glad I labored at home for as long as I did because if I had gone to the hospital they would've wanted to do petocin or a c-section which were both off the table for me. Sarah was the one to suggest the hospital after a very long time of pushing, and she had previously tested me for Strep-B to ensure I could labor for an extended time as a first time mom (which she informed me well in advance could happen). She constantly monitored mine and babies heart rate to ensure we were both healthy. I would definitely recommend her as a midwife and I would recommend home birth as well! Sarah came with us to the hospital and ensured me that my birth was no less than any other and constantly checked on me throughout postpartum. Eventhough my birth did not go as planned (which hospital transfers were talked about as a possibility due to me being a first time mom) I enjoyed the entire process of my pregnancy's and labor with Sarah. The negative review is more towards Sarah than Holly as she was the assistant during my birth and not in during the entire pregnancy however she was still very helpful and great especially since she came at like 12am even though she did not have to. All in all my birth experience may have not gone the way I wanted but I felt safe and comfortable the entire time with Sarah and Holly.

She answered many questions I had and provided documentation up until delivery day. Let me tell you how happy I am she was there. She was a trooper. From 12pm to 6:30a.m the next morning. she was by my side supporting me and my husband the entire time. My epidural left me with a hotspot across my lower abdomen that was not reached by the epidural. The pain for me was intense. She stayed by me offering breathing guidance, rubbing my back and offered peppermint oil as I kept becoming very nauseas from the pain. I had a very hard time and could not have done it without her. Eventually a c section had to be done as I stalled in dialating enough and could no longer take the pain. Ashley was there again after the c section checking up on me and baby. I appreciate her so much and will be forever grateful to her.
