I have lived at Georgetown for a year, and it's been a great experience so far. The rent is very reasonable for the spacious apartments they offer, and the amenities (including the 3 swimming pools, gym, community room etc.) have made life here very enjoyable! The management is great and have stellar ethics/commitment to keeping the community happy. Maintenance has always been taken care of within a day, have had no complaints so far. The architecture and greenery at this place are very soothing to the eyes. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place a little away from the city (about 10-15 minutes drive), yet right on the highway. read more

Absolute terrible place to live. you will not have access to all of the amenities, they do not keep up with the property so it looks old and worn down, they literally with leave the dumpsters looking crazy and overflowing with trash. Then when you send in a notice for them to fix the doors in your unit that they said they would fix during my lease they file an eviction notice when I've already put in my 60 day notice and my lease is up at the end of June. They did that as a form of retaliation and I am so glad I kept all the communiactions I have ever had with these individuals. I will see them in court on May 11th even though the rent they filed the Eviction about has been paid late fee and all. read more

I want to warn people please don't waist your time or money. The staff is trained to play in your face and take your money. The new modern day do what the master say, far as the staff, is not going to keep it real with you and tell you, they not going to approve you if you have anything on your credit it doesn't matter nor are there going to tell you. If not approved you can get a co-signer that gotta make three times the income. Then they gonna take for ever to give you that 200 hundred dollars back that they swear they need to hold the apartment for you that ten other people have an application on as well you do the math. This company is a rip off hungry for your money and commission please I advised you not to apply here don't waste your time or money. Don't let the face of the company deceive you. They have no authority, no power, don't be fooled by the new upgrades either. If I could give this place zero stars, I most definitely would in the leasing office. They never answer the dang on the phone and it's so annoying because I always have to leave work every second of my day to go tell them what's going on with my house, I have mice in there I have upstairs, neighbor consistently stomps their feet with their children and they let their children run around back-and-forth all day and night past 1130 you can't ever relax in your own home without having to hear noises and every time you try telling the leasing office all they tell you call police like you lazy bums I had old AC units in My Home and I had a newborn and my house was nothing but hot and muggy in there to the point where my self and my kid was going to have a heat stroke and it took them a month to get me a new AC. You guys suck. I hope you guys get sued, and Georgetown on the river will never exist anymore You guys are so lazy very unprofessional it's not even funny and very unorganized. How are you guys gonna tell me that I need to buy a piece for my window in order for her to lock that is a fat lawsuit right there I hope a group of residents that live here take legal action and take them to court read more

I never actually got the chance to move in here, so this review is based off of my interactions and impressions about the application process. Tony and Carissa each get a star for being helpful and seemingly trying to help me get approved for an apartment there. But the whole process is so flawed. I had heard a lot of bad things about this apartment complex before I went on the tour, and I kept that in the back of my mind on the day of my visit. Tony showed me two one bedroom apartments and for the price, they were kind of underwhelming. I was really looking for something that had a washer and dryer in the unit. The buildings looked very cute on the outside. They are painted many different colors and it does look like they belong somewhere in New England, by the sea. But the inside leaves much to be desired. The walls are quite dirty, and all of the apartment doors are old wood. I hate wood grain more than anything! Lol. I just think it makes something look so dated. One of the air conditioners was a Zenith! Do you know how long Zenith has been out of business?! It's been a long time. Then they showed me one of their updated units and I actually fell in love. It had a washer and dryer in the unit, and the kitchen was beautiful. I've never seen such a long counter, and I could just imagine myself fixing all sorts of wonderful meals and having enough room to do it. I went back to the office to apply for it. They kept pushing for me to enroll in some surety bond nonsense. It's where you pay $9 a month instead of coming up with a security deposit, but it's non-refundable and you still have to pay for any damage and cleaning when you move out of the apartment. It's basically a rip off. Anyway, I had just started a new job and it wasn't paying much, but I had savings. So I offered to qualify based on my bank account instead of my income. But they wouldn't let me do it! I offered to pay in advance for half the lease, and they said no. It's ridiculous. I know for a fact that if somebody can't come up with their security deposit and they have to get a surety bond, chances are they are not able to qualify based on their income. Lol. So I have been heartbroken because I really liked that updated apartment. It's funny though because I got an updated car insurance quote based on that address, and my car insurance would have gone up $300 a year just from moving there. So I'm guessing it's a pretty crime-ridden area. And I would have to get renters insurance. The apartment was $1,200 a month. It just doesn't seem like a good deal for all the hassle I've gone through. I've been trying to find an apartment for such a long time and it's just getting ridiculous. They could have had a good tenant who prepaid and they turned me down because I have a bad job. It's not fair. That's what savings are for. read more

What started off well ended horribly. My experience had been a nightmare working with the office and property management company. Do not rent from these people they do not care about you as a person or human being. They want money and will raise the rent on loyal customers with no warning. Parking is so restricted you and your guests will feel as though you are visiting a correction facility. From guest parking curfews to extremely high tow fees. The gym and pool were closed for months with no discounts given to residents for not being able to use the amenities. The outdoor pool was not usable during summer months. They offer "remodeled apartments what that means is your kitchen counters and appliances will be new whereas the rest of the apt and building interior is very dated and in need of numerous repairs. Washers and dryers do not always work the office will tell you to contact the owners of the machines for refunds and the prices fluctuated as well over time. My apartment flooded and the office staff never once reached out to check about repairs. I've attached pictures of the after flooding repairs wood peeing from the bathroom walls possibly mold? I got stuck with the bill for the machines using my electricity for a week imagine sleeping with industrial fans and a de-humidifier for a week! It was just terrible. Also the apartments heat is controlled by the management which is around 68' in the winter and we just had some -25 days where Ice gathered in my window sills and management told me to get some thicker curtains or move my couch away from the baseboard heaters which are vintage and provide minimal heat source. Also there's been some gnarly holes in the hallway for months no explanation why or sign or repair it's more or less a eye sore to walk past and have guests asking whats going on there. I was also notified due to a $44.00 late fee management would not like to extend my lease after being a loyal resident for years. Plus I went to speak with the office and heard another female resident complaining of roaches in her apartment begging to be moved to another unit. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT FACILITY TO ANYONE !!! I had moved into Georgetown as a first time renter at the age of 19. When I first moved the lady in the leasing office Sherri was very nice to me . But a couple months in there were 2 separate incidents where maintenance came into my apartment without a work order. The first time I was home and they said I called about the tub so I let them check . While maintenance was there I had them fix the hallway closet door next to the door which there was a 32" tv in the box in that closet . About a week later maintenance returned but I was just getting home from work as they were walking out of my apartment and they had not called or notified me at all of maintenance coming in my apartment. A week or two after the second incident with maintenance coming without a work order I went on vacation for a week. The day before my vacation I seen my PlayStation 4 was not in the tv stand where it was supposed to be so I just thought my gf had packed to bring on vacation. While on vacation my gf said she wish she would've brought the PlayStation. At that point I then called the leasing office 3 times in 2 days and everyone in the leasing office told me I don't have physical evidence of them taking it out of my apartment and that I need to make a police report. Well I got back from vacation and a week goes by and I decided I wanted to put that 32" tv that was in the box in the closet by the door in my room to have a tv in my room . I take the box out of the closet and it is EMPTY ! So not only is my PlayStation gone but also my tv ... I have talked to the area manager Kristen who seems to not give a flying care about the situation and she told me that they can change my locks on my doors which is ridiculous because at the end of the day maintenance and the leasing office are the only other sets of keys to my apartment so changing the locks would do no good . She then told me she would talk to her maintenance guys and call me then next day ! There's no one else who has access to my apartment besides maintenance and the leasing office and my things are now gone and they are all making it seem as though it is my fault ! Please if you read this review do not I repeat do not go to Georgetown on the river apartments they could care less if they have people from their company stealing from tenants . ALSO SAME TIME ALL THIS IS HAPPENING WITH MAINTENANCE AND MY APARTMENT THEY'VE BEEN HAVING SEVERAL REPORTS OF THINGS MISSING IN PEOPLES STORAGE AS WELL !!! Late '60s apartments! Indoor pool was broken down, getting worked on so they said. Units do not have garbage disposal in the sinks!

I lived in Georgetown Apartments in 2015-2016 and I would not live there again. The front desk people have a high turnover rate. I believe right there it says something bad about the company. I talked to one person when I applied to live there and by the time I moved in, that lady was not working there anymore. I had to move out early because rent was going up $100 more per month, once my contract was up, and I was not willing to pay that much more for that place. I sent in a certified letter to the company letting them know that I was moving out early. I was just shy on the 60 day notice. The reason for it being early was because the new place had one apartment open and I had to jump on it before someone else moved in there. I got an email from George Town apartments telling me I still owed rent, which I understood. Later, instead of them mailing me a bill, they went straight to my credit report and put a black mark on my perfect record. I never received a letter in the mail, they said one was mailed to me. I come to find out they filled out my address wrong and it was sent back to them. They never tried again to contact me and I didn't know about all this until I looked at my credit report months later. They also added an extra $300 on my bill and kept my deposit too. I knew they would keep the deposit but I didn't know they were mean enough to add a $300 fee too. That company is not trust worthy and I would not waste your money on living there. The hallways smell like smoke and old building. They don't keep up with the trash and the cigarettes in they walking paths or the grass. Minnesota has so many places that are much nicer for the money you will spend on your apartment. Don't waste your money on a place that will only cause trouble in your life. read more

When I came here loved the place it was amazing my first house! But after being here for months things started to change. The neighbors here are awefully rude as well as the office staff what was a warm welcome to aweful hello. They are nice until there not. My shower was running for 17 hours and no one came no one did a thing I ended up having to call them like 8 times to get it fixed and the matience man came he had a attitude and told me I was impatient. They have also stolen a whole rent check from me saying that I never turned it in and that I was a liar . So me being a 18 year old living pretty much alone I had to dip out of my savings and take out all my money to pay them a second time with a overdraft fee. They don't care about you or your well being they care about there money and there properties. Aweful place to live wouldn't recommend to anyone if I could give 0 stars I would. read more

We have lived here for a year now and at first we loved it. Then things took a turn for the worse. Our cars (and other cars) have been targeted for major vandalism and they offer little help regarding this. There are no security cameras in the parking lots and the lighting is very poor. Also, bugs constantly get in the apartment in the fall even after pest control tries to help numerous times. We have to vacuum about 15 bugs a day that get in our apartment. Also, if it snows and you aren't home--prepare to pay almost $300 in towing fees so they can plow the lot. :( read more

I wish I would have listened to people that told me not to live here. The old management was at least reasonable. They just got new management, and they are not only not reasonable, but terrible.They will do ANYTHING to take your money. Charge ridiculous fees, threaten to charge ridiculous fees, tow your car giving LESS THAN a two day notice- over MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. The weekend that EVERYONE leaves town to go somewhere! They are also some of the most disrespectful people I've ever encountered, ever. There are bugs everywhere in the cabinets. Hallways reek of weed and fish just about every evening. Can hear every creak and cranny when people are arguing or walking. Don't let the pool and the crappily "updated" apartments fool you. This place is absolutely horrible!!! Halfway through our rent lease the complex was bought out and new management took over. They are bitchy, mean, and unaccommodating. They shut off our heat in the beginning of April, when it was still pretty cold out. They file evictions within 6 days of no rent!! The site manager is rude and disrespectful. Since we moved in they have shut down the-in building trash rooms, and changed all the washer and dryers to credit-card only. Also, I've had to call the cops on disputes across the hall AND above us at least 12 times so far. The residents lay their trash everywhere and don't care what it is, or where they put it. The walls are really thin (you can hear a baby's mobile playing in the next apartment). Maintenance charges us every time we get a clogged garbage disposal. Their closets are crap and keep breaking all the time. Our buzzer often rings early in the morning due to people wanting to get in after loosing their key (they try everyone's buzzer and its LOUD). They also have refused to put my number as the main number as well as my fiance's and there is only his name on the directory in the entrance. There has been a number of safety issues as well. There has been a hostage situation, at LEAST 6 car break-ins, fights breaking out, apartment break-ins, heat being shut off too early, and loosing electricity to the whole building because maintenance can't keep up.
