Very convenient location & the water ice is pretty good. I used to go here all the time and trusted the business to return years later. I must say the customer service is just not there. I've gone a few times lately and I've been given water ices with no napkins around the cup to catch dripping. My water ice yesterday literally began spilling down my hand, it's 90 degrees daily. This is basic, come on. I ordered a pretzel and it had zero salt on it which has become typical here. At one point I asked for salt and was told it won't stick. If you're selling soft pretzels is it not in your interest to learn? It simply isn't enough care behind the service for me to keep interest without improvement. Do better please. read more

Wow this place is the bomb and cheap!! I'm pretty new to water Ice & Gelati's, and I've tried Rita's but this place is way better. There are so many flavors to choose from. The staff are very generous with the scoops and they had great service. The water ice was so creamy and not too sugary. They also sell beef patties which I think is random but a great option to choose from. It was my first time ever having a pizza pretzel (not pictured) and it was so filling and delicious for only $2.50. I will be back when I am in the Upper Darby/Philly area. read more

George's has the best water ice in Philly! Great selection of flavors, and the water ice is always smooth and thick. Not icy/crunchy and great flavor without being overpowering. I usually get the green apple and lemon mixed combination and we get several containers to stock up for the winter. Even if you freeze it, it's still good (just take it out and let it melt for 10-15 minutes - you can still that smooth consistency). So lucky to have a gf who loves going to Geoerge's after dinner to grab some water ice and to sit on the bench and watch kids and grownups alike come up to the counter with huge smiles. While this location doesn't have the safest feel to it, water ice has a powerful effect on uniting people and any differences that there may be :)! George himself is super nice and always smiling, and the staff must have some of the most toned forearm muscles from all the scooping and mixing they're doing. If you are ever in West Philadelphia during a hot summer day, make a special trip to George's to taste some of Philly's finest. Enjoy! read more

Super friendly owner and staff. Everything is great there. Owner's famous line when he hands you the food, "you deserve it!" Price is super cheap and they have free parking on both sides. Only negative thing is that the line is always out the door. read more

I wondered over here the other day, and I waited in line for around 15-20 mins. I've always heard amazing reviews of their items, so I figured I'd give it a try for myself. They were a bit disorganized, and the woman I dealt with at the window was less then enthusiastic about serving me, but alas, I waited so long and wanted to try a milkshake. It took about 5-7 mins alone just to make the milkshake, but for less than $4, and it being oversized and delicious, it was worth it. I wish they had their menu on display outside of the glass enclosure, because you can't see what they sell until you are next in line. I can't wait to try their water ice next! read more

George's has the best water ice in the area. Even though the lines are sometimes long, the staff is great. They're quick, efficient, & always get my ordee right. They have late hours so we can stop by almost anytime. Everyone at George's have always been friendly. Terrible customer service! I arrived to the business to find the line unnecessary chaotic. No customer was greeted upon entering and there were no instructions as to how to form a line. The worst moment was when I finally made it to the front of the "line" only to not have the employee even acknowledge my presence. I cannot comment on the taste of the water ice, because I no longer wanted to purchase anything. I decided to leave immediately. No food or drink is that good to make it worth tolerating such poor service. read more

Strawberry lemonade water ice and the pizza pretzel is to die for. I lived nearby and I was always curious why there was such a buzz at George's every time I drove by. Now I know why. The water ice is thick (unlike rita's watery water ice) blended with unique flavors. read more

Most water ice is the same to me. The difference is George's is much cheaper than Rita's and other places around town. A small at George's is the size of a medium at Rita's and only costs $1. They have a lot interesting flavors (ex: Rum) as well as all of the favorites. My favorite is mango, but rainbow is also a good choice as you get to have a little bit of everything. Besides water ice, they serve hot dogs, funnel cake, pizza pretzels, basically anything you could want from a water ice place. It's inexpensive, it's a small business, and it's good. OMG! Just found out about this place! I live in Broomall and have a Ritas right up the street from me (0.2 miles) and I now choose to drive over 7 miles (13-15 minutes away) for GEORGES WATER ICE!! The best by far that I've ever had! Reminds me of the "Polish" water ice, down the shore! And what a difference in price compared to Ritas! The family that owns it are also 5 STAR PEOPLE! If I could I would give no stars. I recently went in and I had a particularly large order being as though I was ordering not only for myself, there was a line going out of the door per usual. And I told the man I have a big order so please listen carefully I'm not sure if he was new or not . I said 4 water ice's please and I slowly told him which flavors he brings back a flavor that I did not ask for then 2 others separate cups when I specifically said I wanted my flavors mixed! After 5 mins he brings back the 3/4 of the cups they've look a little low so I asked him if they were the right size he says yes then proceeds to take the cups and take off the water ice making it even smaller . I asked him for a cheese pretzel as well . Never received it. But was charged for 5 water ice's now I'm just standing there thinking "wth" . I stood there for at least 20 mins! This customer service was the worst thus far ! And I was very disappointed. I usually do not make reviews but I feel as though I had to. Nonetheless, The water-ice is great! read more

Water ice is delicious, reasonably priced, lots of flavors to choose and the staff is friendly and accomodating- who know how to scoop up the flavors that you can taste simultaneously, instead of having to consume the first layer before you can get to the second like at most of water ice stands. read more
