I grew up on Wally's pizza in Cambridge and my eldest son's first solid food was their pizza crust…read more I am a die hard fan. I recently moved and have been trying to find a place that resembles what I grew up with. With that said, this is NOT it. I don't even think they try to serve good pizza. I've given them about 4 tries and only because I wanted it to be good. I needed it to be good. This location has served me reheated hard, dried out "pizza". Pizza that I've had leftovers for breakfast and lunch at the Cambridge location and it never tasted as bad as what I have received from this location, supposedly fresh. You really need to do better. The price you charge for pizza and you're reheating it trying to save money and that just cost you a would be loyal customer. I tried to chalk it up to being 4 pieces and not a 1/2 tray, but you guys don't even try to make a good half tray. The dough can't be fresh. If it was it definitely wouldn't be this terrible. I know Wally's pizza. I've been eating it since 1978. I'm so disappointed, but I think I've given enough chances. I won't be recommending this to anyone I know. We wasted an entire 1/2 tray tonight minus the piece we each tried to eat.

I stopped here for a quick lunch on a Sunday road trip because it was next to the gas station…read morewhere I filled up and I like supporting local restaurants instead of fast food chains when possible. Although it's attached to a gas station, it's not connected inside. It's a separate business. There isn't much to the place. But the menu board was cute and the service was fast and friendly. That, plus the fact that the other reviews make it clear the locals like it, warranted the 2nd star. How was the pizza? What are the words I'm looking for ... um ... not good. I've heard about Ohio Valley-style pizza and I think that's what this is. The crust had a nice crispness to it and the sauce wasn't too sweet (which is a common feature of pizza in other parts of Ohio). But the cheese was provolone, not mozzarella. And after they cooked it, they put more raw shredded provolone on top! That seems to be their thing - fresh cheese and toppings on top of the cooked pizza. And the pizza was terribly salty. I've had better frozen pizza from the supermarket, and if the cheese doesn't melt, I cook it longer. I should have known not to expect better pizza after living in Ohio for a couple decades. This is so close to the state line that I guess I forgot I was still in Ohio! The sign on the door says they're closed Sundays. I wish that had been true today!

Multiple times I tried asking for the pizza well done and still get a chewy uncooked white bottom pizza smh. I finally quit trying. Today I tried getting salads ( can't mess up lettuce right ? ) they said - hold my beer. The chicken was pre cooked somewhere else and fresh out of the freezer. No joke, they litteraly forgot to heat it up and at least pretend they cooked it themselves. I made the mistake of asking for French fries on the salad lol, nope can't pull it off. I had to order a separate order of fries and put them on the salad myself no big deal.. but like most places in west Virginia they use the crinkle cut frozen trash fries from the local cheap store ridiculous. The wait staff was attentive, and the food arrived quickly. The prices were quite good as well. The downside to the meal is the taste of the water. This flavors everything from the fresh water itself, to the drinks, to the wonderful looking freshly made pasta. I don't know if it's the city water, or something in the pipes, but my wife, children, friends, and I all found the taste of the pasta not to our liking. Upon tasting my son's water, since he complained about the taste, we found the pasta to have this same taste. We never want to have just one try of a restaurant, as sometimes things change over time. We revisited three additional times, hoping the tastes had changed over the last year. (Actually, we forgot about the taste of the water before the second visit, but we were reminded quickly.) The taste of the water hasn't improved, and unfortunately, it continued to flavor the pasta. We did discover after a ball game that the water seems to be a local issue as the fast food places nearby have the same taste. If they were to move to a location with better tasting water, or filter it in some way, this would be a great place to eat.
