Attended a private function for 200 folks at L'espace 400 tonight, and the catering was provided by George V.
First of all, let me start with the quality of the food. Wonderful from start to finish. Large buffet stations with hot trays and cold items. Shrimp, scallops, sliders, confit, steak, noodles, croquettes, the variety was endless and everything was scrumptious.
Second of all, let me talk about the incredibly creative presentation. Sushi served in small metal shelves attached to a wall of glass. Red takeout containers (like you get from a Chinese restaurant) filled with sliced steak and soba noodles, tiny plates with sliders and open sandwiches, spoons filled with a bite of goodness, soup served in test tubes, skewers of smoked salmon, scallops and shrimp impaled on a metal tower -making it look like some sort of alien Christmas tree, gorgeous little crème brulees , and tiny candy apples, beautiful fruit and cheese platters. At the end of the night they gave out small bags of kettle corn.
The food was elegantly presented, and was delicious. A successful merging of art and food and service.
