It is kid free, adults only which means you can have a lie in and not be woken by children. Room is comfortable, I slept a solid 10 hours the first night. Fingers crossed for tonight too. The only thing which is not a plus is the breakfast and that's only a smidge off being great. Yes breakfast being included is amazing as is the fact there is a big slot 8-11 on a Sunday and bank holiday. The negatives are that they run out of some things quick and are slow to replace them, there is only scrambled egg not fried and everyone is trying to come in at the same time around 10 so as not to miss out. Unfortunately the cafe room is not big either.

Baby Friendly 4 Stars Kid Friendly 5 Stars We had a family room with the baby, it had a long hallway with bathroom in it, large living room, and a bedroom. It was a very comfortable space. I was surprised that the sofa bed was made up, and there was an extra twin bed in the living room. I think the hotel gets groups of people staying in the rooms! (Many of the regular rooms have an additional twin bed as well!) The bed in our bedroom wasn't very comfortable, but when I asked about it the staff was able to put a duvet under the sheets. That helped a lot. I was surprised the bed wasn't comfortable because the bedding was really great, and the twin size bed was super comfortable. So check if the bed is comfortable before you settle in for the night, not all beds are the same! The location is amazing. The staff is very helpful! The pool is lovely, it was warm and big! The pool room is really pretty. Breakfast was fine. They had porridge on the morning of the marathon, but not any other days. I wish they had porridge everyday. The hotel is old, and we had to go up our down quiet a few stairs. That was really annoying with luggage. You have to go up a few stairs to get into the hotel, and then down a few stairs to get to the elevator, and then our room was up a couple of steps from the elevator landing. Having to go up a few stairs here and there is was annoying with a baby stroller/buggy. It was only a few stairs at a time, so it was manageable, but still annoying. We would absolutely stay here again!

Accommodation in the area is at a real premium for this weekend each year as thousands flock to the city for the marathon and 10k. We were pleasantly surprised to find the youth hostel had a 6 bed dorm with a bathroom for £199 for this weekend. The building is beautiful and they've done it up in a modern way but keeping the stunning original features. It's quite cool and funky in the communal areas and the room we had was decorated really beautifully. It had cream walls with a wallpapered feature wall with birds and flowers. It was pretty and calming. The bunk beds were very comfortable and the duvets were warm and cosy but light - just perfect. I could have done with another pillow (there was only one per bed) but this is the only criticism I have. What I was most impressed about was that each bed had a small light, plug socket and a shelf under the socket for your phone. Absolutely genius! I get so frustrated at hotels where there isn't a plug anywhere near the bed but this hostel had at least one for every bed, even the top bunks. The bathroom was nicely done and clean and the shower was hot. The staff were friendly and helpful and there is a self catering kitchen which is handy and well equipped. I'd highly recommend this hostel to anyone wanting to stay in Brighton. It's central, reasonable and a really comfortable place.

I pre booked ahead of time for a 5 hour window. Was money well spent. I fell asleep almost immediately after my long flight. Bed was comfy, there was enough storage space for what I had brought, and everything was clean. I wish the bathroom space could have been bigger, but it was good to not be in the airport waiting and to get some private sleep time.

Thankfully, Yotel rents by the hour (minimum 4 hours). You can reserve ahead or pop up on the day of and see if they have any available rooms. Max capacity of the rooms is only 2 people. Kids over 5 count as a guest, so if you are traveling with a kid or more, you'll probably need 2 rooms. To my knowledge, they do not have connecting rooms. We got two queen rooms. The beds are comfortable, and there's a decent rain shower in the bathroom. The rooms are not completely noise proof, but we were certainly more comfortable there than in the lounges or restaurants for so many hours. That was a good use of money, in my opinion. I'll happily use their services again if I find myself in a similar situation.

And we found the Belmont. The decor in the dining room and bar is very dated. It seemed to have an Irish farming theme to it, which was not what I was expecting. But I still found it charming all the same. Our server was very prompt and nice too. I had the chicken and leek pie. My hubby the burger. It was standard pub grub, but it was nice and really hit the spot for both of us. The Pinot Grigio by the glass was very drinkable. And my hubby enjoyed a cold cider. There doesn't appear to be much on offer in the area, but I don't think you could go too far wrong with the Belmont if you need some grub. Grand.

We were hoping to stay in clean, safe environment the night before our flight and first, I just did not feel safe in the area. Second, the staff was nice enough but just not helpful. Third, the rooms were very small and dingy, we saw some mold as well. Not a place even good enough to take a hot shower and sleep. We left, they did not give us any refund and we still chose to stay in a place in the airport for only 20 pounds more we got hot showers in a clean and safe place.

Enjoyed our stay in rm 7. It is cozy but some small treats surprised. Typical Travelodge. Ok to park but they charge £3. There is a bar on site and they do basic food…read more(curry/Pizza etc) the bar appears to only do bottled beer. The hotel is a bit out of the way and it is about a 10 min walk to the town. There are a couple of restaurants in the town and a pub. If you stay ask for a ground floor room as it is below the level of the main road. As a consequence they tend to be a lot less noisy.
