It was my first visit today, and I'm very happy I found this office. Parking was easy to find, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. I had X-rays and a teeth cleaning done today. Dr. T was very kind and took the time to clearly explain what was going on with my teeth. I also appreciated that there was no pressure to get additional treatment or anything unnecessary. I've been coming here for more than 5 years, and I've always had a great experience. Dr. Lim replaced a crown after the one I had since I was a teen wore out. It was perfect. I am so comfortable with this office that when they recommended Invisalign to straighten my teeth, I took a deep breath and went for it. It is expensive, but I'm really glad I did it. I've been debating on whether I want to write this review, but I feel that I should because I feel that the Dr.Lim could have handled my situation better and I've been depressed from my tooth extraction . This review has nothing to do with the front desk staff they are all very nice. April 2025 I had three root canals done at the same time (top right, left bottom and right bottom molar). I was having pain, but I didn't say anything right away because I thought that because I had three done at the same time I needed more time to heal. I mentioned to the dentist that I was having pain. He said to wait a little longer it should get better. Well, pain did not get better it got really bad. I was having severe headaches, bumps on my gums, and my jaw was hurting, when I finally had an appointment either May or June I went in and they said that I had an infection and that they needed to remove my tooth immediately (not sure if that was even necessary). A few weeks later I went in because my other root canal was very sensitive (bot bottom right) and I wasn't believed right away. I was sent home and said that it was OK. I went back in. they took x-rays and actually it was not OK. Dr. Lim had to redo my root canal, this is second failed root canal. At the same time I also mentioned that the third root canal top right was also hurting and it felt like I had an infection since I already knew what an infection felt like I felt it and I knew that I had an infection. Dr. Lim guaranteed that I did not have an infection. He said we'll just watch your gums because they may be sensitive. I knew that was not the case. I felt that my eye was getting stabbed with an ice pick. My head hurting all the time my jaw, my ear. Everything was just in so much pain and the feeling of being stabbed with an ice ouch was so intense, he kept saying that I did not have an infection finally October 9, I saw a different dentist at Dr. Lim's office and he took x-rays and he said "it looks like you have an infection and your gums do have bumps around it ,but I'm not the specialist so I cannot verify, you will have to see Dr. Lim again". The following week I went in and I saw Dr. Lim and he guaranteed that everything was fine. He said that I do not have an infection. Meanwhile, I still felt the ice pick pain poking through my eye , my head, cheek and severe ear ache. Eventually, the lady dentist did a different kind of x-ray and guess what I did have an infection. It was confirmed that I had an infection. I asked if they can give me antibiotics and they said I didn't need antibiotics and they sent me away telling me that I had to see a specialist. I went to see the specialist had to pay a lot of money (which I had to do right away because I was in severe pain). The specialist confirmed that I had a really bad infection. He gave me antibiotics and also confirmed that the previous dentist where I had my root canal done missed a canal (third failed tooth canal by Dr. Lim). I am very disappointed because he did three root canals and all of them failed and when I brought up my concerns, I was ignored, not believed. Part of me thinks that he wanted me to lose another tooth because that's more money for him since I already have to get an implant because of their negligence. I have decided that I am no longer going to this dentist as well as my family and may seek legal advice. I don't know what Dr. Lim did to me, but all his work cost nothing but pain and suffering for me, his work cost me to lose a tooth, which is very depressing because that is part of my anatomy that is now missing. Now I have to spend thousands of dollars on an implant. This whole experience has left me traumatized and afraid to go to a dental office. read more

I had several cavities that were not causing any pain or discomfort, and preventive fillings were recommended. I agreed to the treatment to protect my teeth from future problems. However, instead of helping, this treatment ended up causing harm. I am currently experiencing cold sensitivity, constant discomfort and severe pain. I believe that Dr. Ryan Nasimi did a poor job. He works very busy, and because of that, mistakes happen. For example, during the procedure, he numbed the wrong side of my mouth, which resulted in him numbing me three times. Even though I told him that the filling felt high, he left it that way. This caused my bite to be off for one to two weeks and forced me to return for an adjustment. The main reason for my initial visit was pain on the left side of my mouth. However, after this treatment, the right side of my mouth is now in worse condition. At this point, I need to find another dentist to fix the damage, and there is even a possibility that I may lose one or more teeth due to malpractice. read more

Horrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs I wish I could give zero stars. My experience with Dr. George Lim has been nothing short of a nightmare. My very first visit to get dental cleaning was ok and got my trust. Unfortunately, that was as far as it went. That trust led to a month of excruciating pain and loss of two teeth. I originally had no problems with my two upper teeth, but Dr. Lim convinced me that I needed crowns. On July 25, 2024, he put in two temporary crowns, and that's when my ordeal began. Every day since then, I have been in unbearable pain. My cheek swelled up, I couldn't eat, drink, or even sleep, and my mouth was so swollen that I could barely close it. The pain was so severe that it affected my ability to work and function normally. I frequently visited the office due to the pain, but the office staff, Joana and Liliana, were as rude and dismissive as Dr. Lim. The emergency line they claim to have is practically non-existent; it directs you to text them, but when you do, you get no response for hours or even days. When I expressed my pain, they accused me of not taking enough painkillers and antibiotics. Even after I told them I had maxed out the allowed dosage and had to use numbing gel from another dental office, Dr. George Lim's daughter Shanna Lim, who is also a dentist, showed no sympathy and instead accused me of stealing their numbing gel. Their lack of empathy is shocking. When I was seen by Dr. Lim and his team, they twisted and shook the crowns so violently that I feared they were further damaging and even loosening my already infected teeth. When I voiced my concerns, they rudely cut me off, insisting they knew what they were doing. Appointments were another nightmare - I was often made to wait 2 to 3 hours after my scheduled time, while other patients who arrived later were seen first. When I pointed this out, their response was a dismissive "Oh," followed by them turning away from me. This morning, I woke up with a completely swollen and distorted left side of my face. Despite having a 10 a.m. appointment with them, I rushed to urgent care first due to the swelling, also knowing they would leave me waiting in pain for hours anyway. I arrived late to the dentist's office, the only time I was late, but Dr. Lim and his office used this against me. When I asked Dr. Lim what to do about the conflicting medications from his office and urgent care, he lost his temper and yelled at me for getting drugs elsewhere. In the end, he screamed at me to just pull the teeth out. After a month of sleepless nights, constant pain, and hours of waiting in their office, I now find myself with two painful loose teeth that were perfectly fine before Dr. Lim started his work. I am devastated at the thought of financial burden of needing implants due to their rough handling. This is the shadiest dentist I have ever encountered. The profession of dentistry is like any other - there are good characters and not-so-good characters, and researching and wading through the candidates is crucial. You may have to meet/consult with several before you come across a good one. Mom was in a lot of discomfort, and we took a chance an emergency appointment and drove the extra miles to meet with Dr. Lim. You don't have to understand dentistry to see a talented doctor in action, and he was that. But in the field of healthcare, there is another important component - what people call "bedside manners". Not impressed at all, went to two other dentists for a second and third opinion, this was BS. LOVE LOVE LOVE !!! Staff is very professional and welcoming ! The ambiance of the dental office was great ! Everyone was so friendly and the decorations of the dentist office for the month of February were so beautiful to see . Not only, was the front staff ( Letty & Mayra ) so positive, and efficient during the check in process but they greeted me, a new patient with such a warm smile. The dental technician, Giselle was very proficient and was very gentle when taking my x rays . Giselle , overall was gracious throughout the whole process. Dr. Shanna was so knowledgeable and got down to business . She made sure I understood what she saw from my Xrays and what the next steps would be in order for me to take care of my teeth. She had a very pleasant and friendly aurora. I've never felt so comfortable with a dentist before, like I did with her . She made sure to answer all the questions I had and gave me a lot of reassurance that previous doctors never did. Lastly , doctor Dr Wachakur who did my actual cleaning was magnificent as well! This is by far the best dental experience of my life. From the moment I walked into the office, the receptionists were extremely polite, considerate, courteous, well-mannered, and very professional. They helped me with the process every step of the way. I was asked to provide photo ID and proof of dental insurance. I filled out a consent form and a medical questionnaire. A few moments later, I was greeted by the best, most polite, most gentle, kindest, and friendliest dental hygienist I have ever met: Abner. He made me feel comfortable and made sure I knew what he was about to do every step of the way. He took my X-Rays and we talked about any issues or concerns I had. He was extremely polite and knowledgeable and answered every question I had. Great conversationalist as well. A few moments later, I was greeted by the friendliest, kindest, happiest, and most upbeat and cheerful dentist I have ever met: Dr. Shanna Lim. We talked about my dental history and proper dental hygiene. She looked over my teeth and made some recommendations. She cleaned my teeth and answered and questions or concerns I had. Overall, it was a very pleasant and enlightening experience. I learned so much. Then Abner came back and finished cleaning my teeth. Afterwards, I made my way to the receptionist and booked another cleaning six months from now. I had no issues with insurance or financing. Everything went smoothly. Overall, this is the best dentist appointment I have ever had in my life, and dental offices like this are why it's okay to not fear the dentist. I really enjoyed the experience and learned a ton. BE CAREFUL! BEWARE! WARNING! Dr. Lim and office manager, Elenore (not sure of her name, maybe Elena) can be extremely mean spirited. Last week, after waiting in his Fairfax office for over an hour and then asking how much longer, then finally being called in, then sitting again in the chair for 20 mins. Dr. Lim REFUSED to treat me. Yes, I was shocked and when asked why he and his office manager refused to explain. He said I'd get an email and registered letter of explanation - P.S. - I have received neither. It was extremely upsetting as I have a tooth giving me bad toothaches and was excited to be finally getting some relief. To say I was shocked, upset and disappointed is an understatement, especially since I HAVE NO IDEA why I was asked to leave. Absoultely NO clue! If I thought for one minute I deserved this unprofressional and mean-sprited treatment, I would not be issuing this warning to you! His actions were completely unwarranted and unprofessional, and especially mean spirited especially since he and his office manager refused to explan why, adding insult to injury. I do not know what might have triggered Dr. Lim act this way (which is kind of scary when you think about it). The only thing I can think of is that I did complain about the wait time and the office manager just commented that folks ALWAYS have to wait at medical appointments. No apology; just a lame answer. At one point the office manager started screaming at me telling me to leave and the receptionist actually called the police. VERY extreme measures - I am 72 years old and no threat to anyone I can assure you. Needed my teeth cleaned and decided to change as my dental hygienist office raised their prices by $100. They took me right in & the office was clean and modern on the inside. It's on Fairfax in an area that doesn't look so great but they are all wonderful businesses and this is truly a GEM. Dr. Shawna gave me the worst experience ever. She oversells procedures and is a terrible listener. She lacks discernment and patience. I had to get a filling and I never had someone so aggressively jab me with a needle, grab my cheek and forcing it into my cheek. I feel like my smile is off now and it's been like a year. She only has this job because her dad is a dentist, otherwise she is totally incompetent and doesn't handle you with any care or consideration. I asked for a second consultation with a different dentist for a filling and they told me I did not need as much work as she did. Dr. George and Shanna Lim take the time to explain all relevant procedures, as well as the pros and cons of the treatment so that one can make independent decisions. Additionally, they exercise a great deal of care while working hands on with patients as well as prescreening patient vitals prior to treatment. I recently had a root canal, and Dr. George Lim called to check on me the following day which has never happened in my history with past dentists! They truly care which is a very rare quality to find. The front office staff is also extremely helpful, friendly, and easy to work with. I love Dr Lim! He's been my dentist for more than 10 years, and I think he's terrific! I had to change dentists briefly due to insurance reasons, but was very happy when I could return to Dr Lim! He is very knowledgeable, and has a wonderful gentle approach. I saw him first at the Vermont/ Los Felix location, but switched to the Fairfax location after I moved. In my experience he is terrific at either location. There have been times in the past when I have had problems with the front office staff, but not recently. He took a full picture of my mouth, and while looking at it, he described the numerous procedures that would have to be done. He gave me a printout of the itinerary and said he would work out a payment plan, incase I couldn't afford it all now. He was polite and seemed very professional, he expressed concern. My previous dentist was taking advantage of me and charging for lots of procedures that weren't actually taking place so they could make more money off of me. terrible! Worst cleaning I have ever had in my life. Dentist used a scaler to clean my teeth for 60 seconds (something I could have done much better myself at home). Hygenist did a quick job polishing my teeth for 120 seconds. Then she flossed my teeth for 60 seconds. She did it so poorly there really was no benefit of her doing anything at all. She then says "wow, your teeth are so clean", when the dentist had just told me my teeth are in such bad shape that I need a deep cleaning. Seems like 5PM is the worst time to schedule since they all seemed to not care about my teeth and just wanted to go home. I am getting my x-rays and going somewhere else. read more
