Follow up from my previous review, I ended up needing to use his survey in court and he was super fast and responsive for the lawyers. Also, he even volunteered to explain his survey to the neighbor and spent a long time with her trying to get her to understand what a survey means, what the survey said, how it was done, etc in hopes of keeping me out court. Can't recommend him more! read more

The best! I cannot say enough good things about Lou at Geometrix. He is very knowledgeable, efficient, and out of all these, I got the survey free of charge from Lou. I contacted Lou for a residential property boundaries survey. Lou responded to me very fast. He let me know his estimated service charge for this kind of work and his availability before giving me a detailed quote. After I sent over the title report, Lou was able to find a survey performed at my place in 1999, and send me over the detailed measurement and the map, and suggested me to try and use it first because the survey service is very expensive. And also explained to me about the survey monument which is located on the street of my place. So, I was able to use this past survey from Lou without any charge. This entire time, Lou didn't ask me to pay him first or prepare a detailed quote with the contract to sign. I contacted eight survey companies for the work I need to do. Three of them I have never heard back. One of them wasn't available to take my work. I got three detailed quotes and availabilities, but none of them have searched the past history record, and looking into the details. I appreciate the work Lou has done. Thank you very much! read more

Lou provided a very quick response to my initial inquiry, requesting the information he requires to survey my property. Feeling optimistic about a positive outcome with his company... I'll update this review once the survey work is complete. So far, so good! read more

I hired Lou to provide a parcel map and a condo plan as part of a condo conversion project. He has always been very responsive and efficient. I would hire him again, no doubt. read more

I called today with a question about our property line. In lieu of a full property survey, they were able to look up some information for me online and make a recommendation at no charge. Very professional and kind to take the time to help me out. Thank you! read more

Lou drew plans for our attic conversion. He was responsive throughout the process, even when I contacted him over the holidays, and when he had much larger projects than ours. He worked with our attorney to revise the plans and completed the work quickly and for a fair price. His drawings were beautifully done, too! read more

Lou is very responsive. Because of my timeline, I will need to hire someone else. Nice guy. read more

We recently requested a survey to be done on a property in San Francisco. Sweet Lou's proposal came in at "only" $28,000. We ended up contracting with JRN Civil Engineers out of San Clemente, Ca for $7,750. read more

Lou from Geometix Surveying & Engineering helped me work through a complicated and trying Lot Line Adjustment on my property. He helped keep me calm when things looked like they may not have worked out and gave me ideas on how to overcome obstacles throughout the multi-year process. He has good connections and a level head. Without his help shepherding me through the process I would have given up long ago. Working with the planning department can be disheartening but with Geometrix in your corner you stand a fighting chance. Call this guy if you are working with the City of SF. read more

Lou Clem at Geometrix did a complicated survey at our home on the coast south of San Francisco in San Mateo County. When we contacted Lou for an initial estimate, he responded very promptly. Of all the surveyors we contacted, he understood best what we needed and was available to do the survey promptly. His bid was comparable with or lower than others whom we contacted. Our survey was a border survey to determine our property boundaries prior to installing a perimeter fence. Completing the survey necessitated working around our contractor and his crew and braving dense shrubbery, including poison oak, and an unexpected absence of nearby boundary monuments. Lou navigated all of these obstacles with good humor and was both determined to get the job done right in a timely way and affably accommodating to our schedule and needs. He also patiently answered our questions about surveying, while also being focused in getting the work done. His maps of our property were easy to read and informative and we appreciated little extras he threw in at no added cost, such as marking where our solar panel array was closest to our property border and setting extra line markers where the fence will go, making it easy for the fencing contractor to install the fence. We will likely have further survey needs in the future and we plan to reach out to Lou at Geometrix again at that time for further survey work. Five stars! read more

A good friend recently hired Geometrix for a condo conversion. Lou was great, very knowledgable, explained what he was doing and why. He had been working on a big project, but was able to squeeze in our condo conversion. Price seemed to be very competitive with what was out there. read more

I recently hired Geometrix for a lot split. My attorney initially had recomended another survey company, but fortunately I called Geometrix just as a price check against the 'recommended' survey company. When the quote come back that was very competitive, I decided to go with Geometrix. Geometrix is a rarity in the real estate / contstruction / permit business. They showed up when they said they would show up, they completed the project within the time they said they would (actually about a week early), and at the price they quoted!!! read more

Lou is very professional and responsive and gave me helpful advice. I will definitely work with him in the future.

Lou at Geometrix Surveying helped us throughout our Condo conversion. Initially, we just needed to establish the property line for our lot, so we could install fencing in the backyard. Lou was relentless in his search ing for ancient markers to establish the correct locations. He finally found the marker under a parked car! We were extremely pleased with his professionalism and he basically took care of everything, including submitting the paperwork to the City for the recording of the Survey. When we wanted to proceed with the Condo conversion a few years later, Lou honored his original quote, which was very reasonable. He was extremely helpful, answering all of our questions about square footage and common area. He even hand delivered the Condo Map when it was time to get it notarized! Lou answered all of our emails quickly, which is really important, since the process normally takes months to navigate. We recommend Lou highly! read more
