Have I learned a lot about bats this last couple of weeks! First, you cannot do anything to harm or…read morecapture bats is they are a Federally protected critter, which makes sense as they control our mosquito population. You do want to make sure that you keep bats out of your attic, and prevent them from taking up residence in any of the multiple nooks and crannies that surround your house. I called a number of companies in the area and came to find out that only certified companies are permitted to address bat issues in your house (just because they are a bug control company does not mean that they can handle bats). Further, I found out that a number of the certified companies require an upfront fee just to come out and do an inspection. The CP Bat Mitigation office rep who arranged for my service over the phone was exceptionally pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient in scheduling an appointment at my convenience. The representative who came out to the house, who also happens to be the regional manager, was on time, courteous, and thorough explaining bat behavior and options before proceeding. CP Bat Mitigation is certified and permitted to do bat mitigation work and they do not charge anything for the initial house inspection. Their inspection process was extensive and included detailed photographs of what they found on my roof that verified I had potential problem. The final digital report, with photos, came along with a detailed estimate and it was my choice to move forward. CP Bat Mitigation can do bat elimination along with roof crevice and vent closures. Luckily, they did not find any trace of bats in my attic (insert obvious jokes here), and the work was limited only to the closure work. I was able to follow up fairly quickly with an appointment to have my concerns addressed. All appointments were confirmed via email and the service was wonderful, offers a 10 year warranty against bats in the attic, and eliminated a worry of bats living so close to a Lake. I highly recommend CP Bat Mitigation for all of your bat elimination and prevention needs.

Heard scratching again. The second guy they sent out set up mouse triangle houses and said we had some mouse droppings. I asked them where are they coming in. They set more traps in the garage and around the house. Told Echo I heard scratching again. They sent a guy out who just sprayed. I told them to send someone else out to check our attic. They did, the boss, who now tells me he saw no mice droppings, only bat droppings. I will never use them again. The person that came out must not have had experience in bat droppings and set mouse traps. I am so angry because this was months ago. Now I have to get a bat exterminator because they don't do bats. I really would not recommend them at all. Not only that but if you are getting mice in your attic (I think now I have more knowledge), bats could probably fit through the same hole as a mice. Grrr! I am praying it is not an infestation.

I would give more stars if I could. Honest company - Travis was great!…read more The first company I called came out to give me an estimate for bat exclusion in my covered porch ceiling (exposed rafters because all plaster had been taken down and we needed to put up the beadboard ceiling). Although I had seen bat droppings for a couple of years, I was not that concerned because we didn't use the porch as it was in the remodeling process. I never saw any bats and I tried to look at dawn and dusk to see them. The estimate the first company gave me was for $2,033 and the $50 I paid to have them come out would be included in that if I proceeded. They said that would cover the porch ceiling and they noticed a 3rd floor dormer (from walking around outside the house) that might have bats. Our third floor is completely finished and we have no attic. I had a second estimate a week later and Travis from Heartland came out. He was Great!!!! We checked with flashlights and realized there were no openings into the house and he said the bats were likely roosting in the rafters in between feedings in the middle of the night. He said it was too cold for them to stay in the rafters or even the soffit overhang with the low temperatures and to install the beadboard ceiling to seal things up. The third floor dormer was caulked and painted also - no openings there. Travis said he wouldn't give me an estimate as there was nothing to be done! He was very kind and honest and answered all of my questions. He saved me $2,033 and I wish I had called him first.

My first time home buying experience:…read more The Millard house was hardly lived in before our family moved in. Shortly after having moved in, I noticed all these lil bugs started coming out from the brick entryway in the front of our house. Once evening I came home from work, it was dark, and as my lights shined on the garage I noticed these HUGE bugs all over the garage door. I'd never seen anything like them. I thought, whatever they were, at least they weren't in the house. At that time, I'd sometimes get up at 3AM to get ready for work. ..... Walk in the bathroom, flip on the light and I'm having an eye level stare-down with one of those GIANT bugs from outside on the garage, but now on the mirror in the master bath - 2nd floor, opposite side of the house. And I figured out what these things probably were. MASSIVE MAMMOTH FEARLESS COCKROACHES I was basically in a full blown pani for the next 24 hours. Heartland came out and confirmed all over the brick entryway we're roach babies! Simply put - They took care of it QUICK! This was on the weekend, they came out Mon or Tue (my next days off.) I never saw a roach after that but, if I did, they said to contact them and they'll come out again no addl charge. My next house - ant problem. They took care of it w one visit. Current house - that fall a few years back where spiders were CRAY - I had wolfers all over my deck we couldn't go out there. One visit they took care of it. Recommended them to my sister with her first house purchase, she raves about them too. If you need something taken care of FAST and don't want to have an outrageous bill, trust Heartland. There's seriously no reason to shop around. They are the best at what they do.
