I indicated to her that I am in a tough spot with my job, and that committing to her availability would be difficult for me, but I would try. Doing so resulted in hundreds of lost weekly income for me, however I was able to make an appointment, as I am need of a therapist as a requirement for my professional advancement. Afterwards, Emily went back on her word about the agreement, and proposed terms that were less than favorable for me. I asked her why such a change was made, and she initially refused to share. I emailed her twice over a 72 hour period asking for an explanation, as I was experiencing lost wages, as well as lost opportunities with other therapists. I heard nothing in return from her. Not even an indication that she had canceled my appointment (which her office makes very clear they will charge you if not appropriately canceled). In the end, I had to get the business manager involved. I then, finally, received a call back from Emily Gordon, where she indicated that I had no real reason for needing an explanation, and was just trying to pick a fight with her. As a therapist, I wonder how it was hard for her to understand how her behavior, lack of professionalism, and ERROR would be frustrating for a patient. I have been seeing therapists for almost eight years now. Never once has anything like this happened. The lack of professionalism is astounding. Read this post. Read the others. Check the reviews on other platforms. There are better therapists and better offices out there. Best of luck to you all in your therapeutic journey.

She…read moreis not the stereotypical therapist who simply nods along, says "that's interesting", "how does that make you feel"?, etc. She is certainly highly educated, experienced, professional, and has a variety of techniques & tools to offer to individuals and couples. She is down-to-earth, easy to talk to, relatable, and opens your mind to different ways of viewing a situation or ways to handle it. I am not the same person I was when I originally walked in those doors several years ago - and that's a good thing. I have much more peace, happiness, stability, confidence, and meaning in my life now. She has helped guide me into the person I want to be and for that, I am so grateful. If anyone is on the fence on therapy, or her as your therapist, give it a shot. It's a journey and requires work and doing things differently and often uncomfortable. Their conversations only last about 5 minutes-certainly not enough time to go over her mental health. Regardless, she has been pressured to pay her full balance which has not been disclosed to us. She has paid $400 last year and another $100 this year. She has asked for an itemized bill 3 TIMES and has not yet received any correspondence yet from the office. This makes me believe they are untrustworthy when it comes to payments. My last ditch effort is to call the office myself as I am her payee.

I paid for an hour long session and she basically cut the session in half and practically rushed me out of the door. I guess I was disturbing her! Additionally, the first time I went to this "therapist" the woman was falling asleep as I was talking. I guess I'm paying her to entertain her so that she won't fall asleep while doing her job. She is not professional and is not doing her job at all. I tried to post a review on Google reviews and for some reason can't find the business..how peculiar when it was just there a couple weeks ago. It is a very warm no judgement environment. Every client's wellbeing and need is the priority. They will not turn anyone away because of money. I have NEVER seen any other place do this!! They offer sliding scale options to work with what the client can afford. Counselors have various specialities including, art, trauma, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, LGBTQ, addictions, couples, families and the list goes on!!! They also have night and weekend office times so it is easy to work with your schedule. If you are looking for a place for counseling I highly reccomend CSA! You can fill out new client paperwork and choose the option "Help me find the right therapist" and Tammy Bobel will provide suggested therapists to choose from who might best fit your needs.
