Surprisingly, this place didn't exist on Yelp yet. We are gonna have to change that. Get these young students Yelping lol. So I can't really speak about the University, as it was dead, nobody around, and I was driving and taking photos from my car like a creeper. But what I can say is: the photos don't do this place justice! It was absolutely gorgeous! Like something out of a fairytale book with its green trees and old brick buildings etc. It is a decent sized campus too, and I didn't even explore the entire thing! I'll be sure to add more photos as I start working there. But this place, for now anyways, in the summer, is gorgeous! I absolutely love it and it has a "charm" to it, that definitely worked on me. I'm excited to start working here. At least, during the summers anyways. My office will be in Alumni Hall, running the ROTC program. So come on by and say hi... and oh yea, join the Army. We'll take good care of you.

They offer online classes, in person classes and hybrid classes which combine online and in person. This is a small campus with approximately 1000 students. You really get to know your classmates. Being old enough to be my classmates' mothers, I was a bit nervous at how I would fit in for group projects, etc. It was needless worry-I was made to feel like I was no different. Great, kind students that I stay in touch with! I attended college full time, mostly at night, while working full time. Sometimes I could not take a required course due to the time it was offered. Hilbert worked with me and my schedule to ensure I graduated on time. I can't say enough about the accounting department professors. There were some bumps in the road, like online professors using lectures they recorded 5-10 years prior. This happened with several professors, so they did not discuss current events, but referenced things that happened when most of the students were ages 10-12. The same online professors also did not update the links they provided in their PowerPoint presentations causing me much frustration. I expect more for the money I was paying to take each class. This is the main reason for not granting the fifth star. All in all, Hilbert provided me and my daughter with an excellent education and I highly recommend it.

We've been visiting the Sports Complex for indoor high school track meets. The facility is very…read moremodern and clean and one of the best indoor tracks around. Spectator view is somewhat limited for events on the far side of the building, but their is plenty of open space for watching everything else. There is a small kitchen that offers a typical menu for sporting events - hotdogs, nachos, popcorn, soda, fruit, etc. The campus itself is a sight as well, with different complexes built on the hillside. The grounds are clean and well-kept. It is off the beaten-path, so to speak. Expect the drive there and back to be an adventure.

I have so many good things to say about HWS that I am not sure it could fit in a Yelp review!…read more Let me just list some of my favorite aspects of HWS: The people -- President Gearan is one of the smartest, civically minded, dedicated, and successful people you will ever meet. I think that he is one of the greatest assets of HWS along with his wonderful family. He and his family made my time at HWS so memorable. Also, the professors are fantastic. I graduated almost 3 yrs ago and continue to collaborate on research articles with one of my undergraduate mentors. The relationships you develop with the people at HWS can really last years, if not a lifetime. There are so many great people on campus it is hard to list them all -- but I want to give a shoutout to the Admissions staff and the Alumni House staff who are also fun and awesome! Woo. The campus -- The campus is beautiful and they do a good job of renovating and keeping it up-to-date for the most part. Also, you are on a 35 mile long lake in the middle of NY wine country! Yes, that means wine tasting, wine tours and wine class (.5 of a credit!). This is absolutely appropriate considering it is freezing and miserable 6 months out of the year so they need to make up for this in some way -- aka their proximity to vineyards and wineries. Also, you can basically navigate between any 2 points on campus in 20 minutes. The education -- My undergrad education absolutely prepared me for my post-college life and has set me up for a PhD program. Overall, the professors were knowledgeable, dedicated and fair. If you work hard and are intelligent, you will do well. I feel as if many of my professors had high standards that pushed me to always do my best. Basically, I love HWS and think that the opportunities overall are hard to parallel. The study abroad, community service and career development opportunities are all excellent and worth the ~$53,000/yr pricetag!

Kinda tough, given that I almost have to give it 5 stars…read more.. but this past summer, back for reunion, they did it up in style. gave us the freedom and flexibility to choose from a number of planned activities, or do nothing at all, and hang out on the quad until 3 a.m., even giving us unfettered access to the sound system, so we could blast 80's tunes on the sound system. Everything for reunion was done extremely well, which reflects the leadership of President Gearen and the culture of the school that hasn't changed signficantly since I left many years ago. Hell, even Professor Marvin Bram is still tooling around on his 1950's era bike. Great school, excellent faculty and students. Hidden gem. Thanks Bishop Hobart!!

Sunny Geneseo is the place where racism grew in the United States. I went there for a job…read moreinterview. I didn't see any color other than white. After they interviewed me online, they seemed impressed with my experience and called me for an in-person interview. I drove for about 40 minutes and arrived a campus. The interview took about three hours. It seemed a perfect interview for me and I expected to get an offer. After a week, someone emailed me and said "Sorry, we moved forward with someone.". I accepted that was because they got a white person and kicked me out. If they hired a black person in that position, I believe might be a mistake. But, I see diversity was dead in this workplace. I was not upset with the job offer; but with my wasted time.

I have been to many colleges throughout the last ten years trying to figure out what I want out of…read morelife. Brockport has been a pleasant surprise. Yes, the food could be a little better, but the education is next to none. The campus is continually growing and changing- and in the late spring to early fall is absolutely beautiful! But those horrid frigid winter months are brutal because the college is basically just not set up for students to access buildings easily without freezing their pants off. I highly recommend the education as Brockport is ranked in the top 100 schools in New York, but be Prepared... those professors (although very interested in helping you learn) are tough and you do have to work hard for your grades. But over all- what an amazing experience. I've truly grown into a better person through my classes and the professors and staff here. They will help you figure out what you want to do and what your good at... and because of Brockport, my future is bright again! Hope this helps ... :)

Recently, I was here twice once for a celebration of milestone. One of the university areas reached, which was held in an outside space that was really quite lovely. The food serve was good. The space was easy to navigate was all nice. The acoustic system left a little bit to be desired but other than that they did a great job. Unless you're coming at night, parking here can be very challenging. Be sure to read the signs or you will get a ticket of some sort.

I transferred to UB and attended from 06-08…read more Overall my experience at UB was awesome. Most of the professors go above and beyond. 100 and some 200 level classes can have 150+ students. Most 300 level were in small classrooms. The north campus building are very odd looking. I was told by a UB staff that this was done purposely. I have visited a handful of other SUNY colleges and UB is by far the biggest and nicest. D1 football here. HORNS UP. Besides the university, Buffalo is a great city to live in. It is considered a large city but is small for being a large city. There are a ton of things to do year round. Amazing food options. Bills and Sabres. If you are interested in the SUNY system, would prefer a large campus and has the major you are wanting I would highly recommend applying to UB.
