This email was sent out today to "Student Life Parents". We had recommended that ALL members of the congregation as well as past and present student's parents be notified, but it is what it is. I'm sorry that everyone has not been notified. I will do what I can to make this public so that everyone is made aware. I tried to tag Terry Kizer or Alliance Church so they could see those who were not notified, but they have blocked me... go figure.
Unfortunately there are errors in the letter. John was initially arrested in October of 2017 while he was still on staff for incidents that happened in the summer and fall of 2017. I don't know why Terry would lie about the arrest date other than to make it look like a member of his staff was NOT sexually assaulting students...
I would also like to point out that John was in leadership positions throughout his time at Alliance, spanning around 10 years. Please speak with your students and feel free to reach out it you feel they would benefit from counseling.

Dear StudentLife Parents,
I am writing to you today to notify you of a sexual abuse case with a previous Student Life Leader in the ministry of Alliance.
John Cordero served as our StudentLife Pastor from January 2017 - October 2017. He was arrested in January 2018. The investigation is over and John has received his sentencing. If your student was part of our StudentLife during his tenure or if they had contact with him outside of our ministry, please speak with your student about their relationship with John. If there is any way we can minister to your students or you, please let us know.
We strive to provide the best environment possible for our students and kids and will continue to provide environments that are clean, safe, and fun for our kids; and a place to connect and learn for our students. We highly desire to minister to students and kids with the highest level of integrity and safety while teaching them to know, love and serve Jesus.
Please know, we want to help you in any way possible.
Pastor Terry Kizer
