We spent some time talking and he was happy to look at another of our trees. This time the news was much better and he gave some free advice. He gave a very fair quote along with all the other info I needed to make a decision. When he drove away, I was convinced I had found the right guy. But my wife wanted other quotes, so I wasted time doing that before I had her blessing to get on the Simply Trees calendar. We got squeezed in much earlier than expected and today the crew showed up and did their thing. They were friendly, careful, professional, & fast. And when they pulled away, you couldn't even tell they had been there - apart from one tree gone and another very well trimmed and looking so much better. Larry was incredibly friendly and easy to work with. He and his crew did great work. Getting it done was smooth and I couldn't be happier with the results. A+, 5 stars, and all that. But the best part? Now when my friends are asking about getting tree work done, I can confidently say, "Don't waste your time looking, I got a tree guy. Name's Larry and he's awesome."

Various things required the job to be rescheduled a couple of times. But it was worth the wait. I had a very large tree in a challenging location. I had a few other guys that declined the job. I knew that the job was going to require special equipment and these guys have exactly what was needed and the experience to do the job safely. They cleaned things up as much as anyone could, and collateral damages were minimal. I would recommend Custom Tree Service to anyone. And I will use them again, if I ever need to.

I cannot speak highly enough about Jonny and his team at Tree Service of North Liberty. The wooded…read morearea of our lot had been neglected by previous owners for close to a decade, and invasive vines had taken over. Some harsh weather over the past couple of years also caused numerous trees to break, fall, or weaken. Jonny is an excellent communicator, and laid out a multi-phase process to restore the forest so that we can start to develop the next generation of trees and maintain a mature forest. Vines were cleared first, followed by felling dead/dying trees, then final clearing so that material taken down can decompose naturally in the forest. He always checked in as he and his team progressed on the job, making sure they were hitting the targets we wanted without getting too far (to a point of no return). They were courteous, kind, and thoughtful about their approach. They also were able to complete the job within a few weeks, allowing us a chance to get a head start on planting already this season. We also benefited from their services to shape a couple of trees in our front yard that were due for a trimming. We will most definitely go back to them for any tree needs.

From the time we moved in, we've been able to rely on Seth Bihun and the team at Total Tree Care for so many tree issues--a couple have been struck by lightning, some needed pruning when they grew over the patio, the derecho hit two years ago and one split down the middle, and just this week we had two enormous white pines removed after they dropped HUGE branches in a wind storm. This has happened a couple of times. Hated to see them go, but it was time. For small jobs like trimming or putting in a cable to large jobs like the the removal of two forty-foot tall pines this week, it's so reassuring to know we're dealing with a certified arborist and a team of professionals who are experts at what they are doing and who take pride in helping local homeowners take care of their trees. Two tremenous cranes and several trucks pulled up at 8 AM, and by about 11 AM. the trees were gone and the yard was as clean as a whistle. Every branch was removed from the trees first, and then the enormous trunks were dismantled in sections from the top down. The cranes lifted the sections straight into the wood chipper, so there was no mess at all. First,an estimator comes to your house, photographs the tree(s) to be trimmed or removed, and you receive a bid online for the job so there are no surprises. You know when they will come (the communication is always prompt and polite), you know what you will pay, and you can be confident your job will be done well by experts. If you're a homeowner who has trees, you WILL need to know a reliable, responsible company who can help you when you need it. For us over the past three and a half decades, that company has been Total Tree Care. Our neighbors have had great tree service over many years, too. Seth and his team are the best--you won't be disappointed and you can count on a job done well and done safely--and that's what matters!
