A year ago or so my roommate blew my head gasket on on my datsun truck and I needed to get the head…read moremachined.... He destroyed the gasket/head so bad I initially thought he cracked the block. I had gone to poynor machine for some simple jobs, but this was the my real first machining job with them. Poynor is a small shop, I think run by one guy (another dude works for him?). You walk inside and he has parts scattered around; various projects all going on at once, he touches all of them. Really the way a machine shop should look and feel. I decided to go with Poynor for this job because: (a) only machine shop I know of in the tri-cities (b) He is upfront about his work (c) Reasonable turn around (d) Reasonable quotes. I couldn't be any happier with the work he performed. He agreed to inspect the head first and to let me know if it is repairable, for free. He then provided me with a quote and asked if I would like to pursue the work. He told me he had a few projects going so it would probably be a week till it was ready, which I was fine with. and I gave him the go ahead. Within 3 days the head was milled, a complete valve job was performed, new seals were installed, and pressure/leak tested. All for only $250 (that is cheap). I installed the head and I happy to say the truck runs better than it used to and I get solid high compression in all the cylinders. Literally revived the truck from the farthest reaches of hell. Only thing that sucks, is now I live in Seattle and need another head machined.

(I actually know how to weld but lol how do you do it without your chair? Lol like a bad riddle) Anyhoo, he said I know a welding shop in Pasco! Off we went. A new chair is about $450. My husband had joked, I went in to see if they had swords. (My knight in banged up armour, loves swords) and they didn't have any. Why wouldn't a place called Knights not have swords? He has a point. A nice looking guy came out and checked my chair, with magnet, import to know if metal can be welded. They took the chair in, done in ten minutes! I kid you not. I was happy my husband didn't have to drag me around like the cave man times. Hey they had some really nice art like things there too. (Thinking Christmas)

The articulating abilities were priceless since the powerlines were right behind the tree. It allowed my husband (Mark) to put the boom where he needed it to be for safety. Thank you Layton, Dustin, Jose and the entire crew. The equipment was super clean and in great operating condition. The delivery driver (Jose) was on time and friendly.
