Basements Plus Renovations - Hard to believe this is just a basement.

Glenn did a fantastic job finishing our basement! Let me start by telling you why I chose Glenn and…read moreBasements Plus Renovations. First off, I had about 12 companies come to look at my basement to give an estimate. Only about half of them even bothered giving me an estimate. Of those 6, only two provided a comprehensive breakdown of the costs. Of those two, one was among the cheapest quotes, and one was the most expensive. In case you haven't guessed by now, Glenn's quote was not only among the cheapest, but he meticulously detailed the cost breakdown of the project. This was hugely appreciated since it ensured there wouldn't be any surprises with extra costs cropping up mysteriously. Even the tradespeople he worked with were professional and helpful. The electrician, for example, pointed out that while he was happy to do what I requested regarding one feature, it would cost a lot and not really give me much. So I thought that was a good point and took his advice to not do that particular feature. Another cost savings! So the organization was fantastic, the price very reasonable, and the quality exactly what I was looking for. And the icing on the cake is Glenn even noticed that the original builders of the house failed to properly secure the door handle leading to the garage and ordered a part to fix it up and came back later to do it. Hard to argue with that kind of service! I completely recommend Glenn and Basements Plus Renovations!

Many people had said they found him to be very honest and we also found that to be true. After speaking with Glenn about the list of things we wanted done within a specific budget, Glenn drew up a budget and stuck to it. The line of communication was always open between texting, emails and phone calls and we always felt comfortable asking any questions or raising any concerns we might have. His team of professionals did a great job with the renovations after first taking out two walls: Bruce at Art's Drywall and Restoration patched, plastered and replaced ceilings; Tim handled the electrical work and and advised us on how best to install overhead lighting throughout our home; Ben replaced our old poly-b and copper pipes and configured our new kitchen plumbing as well as installed our new gas fireplace; Temo did a very detailed job of our shiplap fireplace and all the trim, including hanging all the new doors; the Nesting Owl supplied our mantle and blanket ladder; Atlanta Flooring leveled and installed all the flooring and new backsplash with incredible craftsmanship; With the help of Tracey from Marr-Tech Kitchens, the vision for our kitchen came to life, all within budget; and we couldn't be happier with our counter tops from Master Mason Marble and Granite. We are very pleased with all the work completed by these tradespeople. We would definitely recommend Glenn Wallace and his team for your renovations.

Fairfield Island Plumbing - Pressure relief valve installed by Fairfield

We all make mistakes, although when you don't take responsibility and lie about it, that's where I…read morehave the issue. I had Fairfield Island Plumbing (Chilliwack) install a new water heater in 2017, they did a great job. Fast forward to November 2024, I had them attend, same tech as before to replace the pressure relief valve on the water heater. After tech leaves I was cleaning up the furnace room, and noted the pressure relief valve was used. These are the following emails: " I have a question wasn't this valve supposed too be new?" "I'm not in on Mondays, so I wasn't able to speak to Shawn until today. He said the part is new, it was in his truck stock. Unfortunately, the parts do not come wrapped and sometimes get scratched as there may be multiple parts in the bin together. If you have any other questions, please let me know." "I can understand parts getting scratched, although this is rust even on the shaft it's rusty. Here's a better picture. This not a new part " "I can understand your concern, I know the part itself does not look pretty. I did confirm again with Shawn that he took the part from his truck stock and it has never been previously installed. I will send Shawn to the wholesalers and pick up another new one and install it for you. Our reputation as a business and as licensed & bonded commercial plumbers is very important to us and I can assure you that we do not install used parts. We never want our customers to be unhappy with the quality of our products or our services and would like to make this right for you. I have availability next Wednesday and Thursday to set up a time that is convenient for you. Let me know and I will get it on the schedule." "With all do respect, I had another plumber attend today and it was also stated the pressure relief valve is used. I have also attached the manufacturer's part for reference, which is completely different in condition from the one installed.I would like you to pass this onto to the owner for feedback." "I have forwarded all correspondence to the owner for his review. He is unfortunately away this week but will be returning next week." This week has past and they did not reach out to me. Judge for yourself from the pictures. The part Fairfield installed and the mfg part I also reached out to three other plumbers for an assessment, all three stated part was used. Also when they installed the water heater they made sure there were no air lock(s) in the system, after recent installation I'm now left with air lock(s) that are banging through my pipes when I'm gone for mare than a day. I have replaced the pressure relief valve on my own and will remove the air lock(s) I did not accept their offer to come back and replace the pressure relief valve, as they have lost my trust to do an adequate repair. In closing I would not recommend Fairfield Island Plumbing to do any plumbing work, and if you do, check all the parts before installation, ask lots of questions, and definitely watch their work, as you don't want to be a victim, that may cost you more money in the long term.

HorribleExperience!…read more We ordered windows through West Tech because Kevin talks a good game. He doesn't actually follow through on what he says he will do. We found Kevin did not include important details in the original order we placed. We did not receive notice of delivery date/tim--had to track it down. The windows we received were wrong. We contacted Kevin and he blamed usnfor the mistake. We reached out to connect with his boss but was redirected to Kevin who committed to making it right by re-ordering the windows at the specifications we required. From his email- "...sorry, I missed this email. We'll make two windows egress with grills. I'll have them rushed through production at no cost to you and Steve. We'll pick up two of the four windows that were delivered," A month later, with no word on this re-order, we reach out to learn he did not submit the order. July 18, he stated "Ya, this is a real boondoggle, we just can't seem to communicate very well. I've been dealing with Stephen via text messages, and you via email. I've read through his texts and your emails, I have the grill work stuff here and it's ready to go. I'll rush production of the egress awning windows with bug screens and the flippy door to access the hardware. I'll make this my only priority this week. I want this resolved as badly as you do...believe me. Cheers, Kevin." A week later, we reached out for an update and Surprise! The windows were not rushed to production. With more name calling from Kevin, we cut off contact and will deal with the wrong windows we have. Highly recommend you avoid this company!!!!!
