Christine has made it the most drawn out, painful experience possible. After canceling a life insurance policy we were yet again charged for it. When I asked about the refund for it in an email that I sent her I received no response about the refund. Our new auto insurance has now sent documentation twice, both by fax and email. I had a phone call with her last week and during the phone call she stated that she had everything she needed and we would be refunded for the difference in premium that was already paid... 45 minutes later she sent my husband an email saying she didn't have the proper documentation to cancel the car insurance. We have been getting a complete runaround. I understand the need to show proof of new car insurance before canceling a policy, but having the entire declaration/ policy sent from the new insurance with the appropriate dates, along with the new insurance cards with the same information should suffice I would think. Going through this whole horrible experience has made me even more thankful that we switched when we did. **edit- in a last ditch effort to resolve the current problem (which has been going on for weeks).I called Christine Jarvis's office again, and was told that they could not speak to me, claiming they could only speak to my husband about the policy. My husband called quite a while back and had me added as a person they could speak to about the policy. Also, pretty odd that they've been talking to me right along and suddenly couldn't. At that point, I decided to stop wasting my own time and went straight to State Farm customer service 800 number. They managed to cancel the policies in 10 minutes with multiple apologies for what my husband and I had been through with this agent. They then directed me to another specialist who asked for all of the details and filed a formal complaint. She repeatedly said that none of this should have happened and the evidence our new insurance provided was more than sufficient, and there was no reason for it to have gotten to this point. Overall, I'd say it's not State Farm that gave us the unfortunate service but the specific agent. When I called the 800-number yesterday they resolve the issue immediately with sincere apologies. I wish I'd gone straight through that route to begin with.
