As a new patient we filled out the usual forms including providing insurance information. Never occurred to us that the practice does not take dental insurance. A wisdom tooth extraction is a pretty common procedure. I've had all four of mine extracted at one time or another. All covered by dental insurance with no problems. My husband came out of the evaluation. Then they informed us it was 260.00 for the x-rays and that they don't take any dental insurance. Then they informed us that the procedure for all four extractions would be $3,000.00!!! I informed them that they will not be our dental surgeon. If you are rich go ahead. But at the very least this practice should tell you that they don't take dental insurance first thing. Very misleading. Bye-bye!

I ultimately agreed, but I wish this discussion had taken place during the consultation so I could have considered the treatment and financial implications beforehand. The most concerning part of my experience occurred during my crown placement appointment on June 9. When I respectfully shared this feedback and mentioned that I had already discussed a payment plan for the additional crown with the office manager, Dr. Loeb abruptly left the room and stated that she would not cement my crowns unless payment was made in full. As a patient in the middle of treatment, with three prepared teeth awaiting final restoration, I felt scared, vulnerable, and distressed. I understand that dental practices have payment policies, but I did not expect my concerns to be met in this manner, especially after I had already been working with the office on a payment arrangement. I appreciate Dr. Roman, the office manager, and the practice owner for stepping in, resolving the situation, and allowing my treatment to be completed. However, I believe patients deserve clear communication, professionalism, and respect, especially when they are in such a vulnerable position.

As a mother, I was prepared to pick up the pieces after the talk, but it was delivered with compassion and received well. The talk was, "we love having you as a patient, but now that you have outgrown our pediatric equipment (my daughter and I are both 5'9") you are going to have to find another provider when you come home from college. It was almost like he was late for his flight. He barely explained anything and started ramming into my teeth. After he is done, he barely said anything and I had to ask, "Can I leave?". He said "Yes, come back after 6 months". It has been about 4 days since I got the treatment done. I still don't feel quite alright. They claimed my insurance didn't cover it, but when I called my insurance provider, I found out they actually *do* cover it, and I found another dentist who accepts that coverage. Cherry had already sent them the full payment for my treatment, and I was making payments to Cherry. I've been trying to get them to refund the money to Cherry; they keep saying they will, but in the meantime, Cherry keeps charging me for a treatment I never actually had with Broadway Cosmetic. When I call, they say they'll only refund part of the money to Cherry since I didn't have the procedure done there. On top of that, they're charging me an extra $274 just for taking two X-rays. So, while they take their sweet time canceling the loan, I'm stuck paying for a service I didn't receive and paying Cherry for money the clinic is keeping some of the money because I found another dentist who actually covered the treatment. Despite multiple calls to the office, I was never put through to the doctor and was repeatedly told that nothing further could be done, and to go to the emergency room. After a full week, I finally managed to schedule another appointment. At that visit, I was told there was no infection and was prescribed two medications--one of which was far too strong for me to consider taking. The very next evening, I ended up spending six hours in the emergency room while they worked to stop the bleeding. The bill was outrageous, and the itemized details state that I had an abscess, with no previous treatment, and still received two tooth extractions. To make matters worse, while performing the procedure, the doctor told his assistant that he didn't like the product being used--completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I could go on, but it was, in every respect, a truly awful experience.
