Venice, Italy
We…read morewere so happy to be settled in a great little section of Venice near Campo Santa Marnia and were thrilled to have this coffee shop and bakery as our local breakfast spot. Just steps away from our rented apartment, we had so much fun here.
Stand at the bar to drink coffee and eat pastries like the locals, you will save money. We grabbed a table first day and then quickly learned the drill of standing. Saved a lot of $$ by doing so or grabbing to go!
-The espresso coffee....outstanding
-Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice...perfection
-Gianduia (sweet chocolate hazelnut spread) filled croissants...what? there is such a thing?! Locals love these
-spinach ricotta pies... fantastic
-we also tried tiramisu, cannoli, and a few other pastries
My favorite item other than the Nutella Croissant was a little lemon pie tart for a measly $1 euro which we ordered for the ride out of Venice on our last day in town....had I only known! We saw the pies used to make a huge cake window display, I wished I took a picture, this must be their specialty.
