The intersection at Newman Rd and Robinson Rd, Geebung is horrible during peak hour. The boom gates come down very early and sometimes stay down after one train has left and another train is still a station away. The cars get backed up in all directions.
As a pedestrian, I would highly recommend avoiding the track crossing, and instead go into the station and use the overpass that will allow you to easily cross platforms.
There have been a number of accidents and near misses and even a death at the track crossing, because pedestrians have to walk across 2 tracks to get to Platform 1. As the city bound train is pulling up, the gates will close due to an express train or a train in the other direction on the other track lines, and stupid people push the gates open and run across the tracks.
There is a station office, which is only staffed during weekdays from 5:45am to 1:30pm. The station has bike locker facilities, which you have to register online first. read more
