I found my mechanic! To give this review I need to tell a story. I live in Brooklyn and was on a trip to Philadelphia. My bike stopped running just north of exit 4 on the turnpike. I called the turnpike authority for a tow (only a few tow services are authorized). When turnpike service person arrived, he called a tow service, but you need a place to tow to. He happened to remember the name of a place (he got it somewhat wrong) but I searched and found Gebhard's Cycles and am really glad I did! Mark is the owner/mechanic. He was straight forward and honest and suggested I search on-line for solutions while he gave his opinion. Between us we came up with a diagnosis and it was perfect. That evening, while in Philadelphia, I thought to call Mark to stop by his place to check all was alright before I got on the road as I did not want to break down again. He called first and suggested this, which I did and he checked the bike warm for any issues. None were found and I was on my way. I found my mechanic. As our life style is forcefully changed, I think it's important to maintain contacts who have proven themselves. Mark fits that criterion exceptionally well. I work on my bikes myself (mid 60s BMW slash two bikes) and Mark is my "go to" guy. Some jobs are such a PITA (or I REALLY screwed it up) I just automatically bring them to him. My wheels and tires were the latest job for Mark. It's the first time I laced new rims and I also needed the tires installed, wheels balanced, etc . I just dropped the parts at his shop and knew he would deal with every little detail. If there's a problem, I hear about it right away. Anything he's recommended as a fix is worthwhile. Even so, when I got back home, I tested the wheel assemblies for balance, true spin and wire nut tightness. Perfect, as usual. OK, maybe he hasn't restored my bikes (he DOES pin striping so he'll get my tin after it's painted) but his work this time is to ensure my rear wheel doesn't pass me on Rt 295. In April, I purchased a 2002 Harley Wide Glide from a private seller knowing that I needed to replace both tires. Knowing what to expect from my local dealer, I looked into alternatives ,and in May, found Mark and Gebhard Cycles. Mark took the time to review different style options and OEM replacements, discussed the benefits and drawbacks of each, and helped me make an informed decision. Knowing I had purchased from a third party, Mark also took the time to look over the bike for any other potential issues. While the bike was is pretty good condition, he did adjust my clutch, flush my brake lines, and replaced stale fuel from my gas tank after I mentioned an idling problem the bike was having. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mark and his shop to anyone who values personalized customer service and quality work done at a reasonable price. I used to take my Harley to get serviced at local Harley dealerships but I didn't really like the experience there (it was very impersonal and kind of tribal). After speaking with Mark Gebhard on the phone, and assuring me that he will be the only one performing the work, I decided to give him a go. When I brought my bike in he went over a thorough inspection and listened to my concerns, gave me a quote for tires, brakes, air filter, sparks and labor (lower than Harley), and gave me a timeline of a week for completion. I just left gebhards cycles with mark, the work he doing on my bike is amazing. Besides him on working on my bike he also a very good person very caring and very informative. Mark is the only person other than myself that I allow to work on my bike or bike parts. I had new rear OEM bearings/seals/spacers installed in my recently restored 1984 Yamaha FJ1100 because a weird clicking noise that the new chain/sprockets I installed did not fix. He also acquired a hard to get Avon rear radial tire (to match my discontinued front tire) which he mounted and balanced to perfection. My bike now looks and rides better than new thanks to some new parts and a great meticulous mechanic/technician. read more

While I do not know anything about Jersey, I ventured over from Philly to go to Olive Garden and once across the bridge I realized I had a flat tire. While trying to locate a gas station. Needed a rear tire mounted desperately on my 2019 Harley Softail. I called evening on a Friday and he confirmed to take my bike in first thing Saturday morning. I found Gebhard's after bouncing around several mechanics for my '03 Road King. I needed the bike gone over for road trip. Mark went over the whole bike, changed all the fluids, lubricated and adjusted EVERYTHING, replaced the fuel filter (which I've been putting off for way too long), and turned the bike around in 1 day. This guy, Mark Gebhard is a perfectionist. He lives, loves, sleeps and breaths motorcycles. I brought my 2007 Big Bear Chopper Sled to Mark to have the chain tighted. Mark went over the Whole bike!
