And through that I met Dave at Cypress Recording Studios. In the early 60s we were the first band to record there. Dave and his unique sound programming allowed for our record to be noticed by the radio stations around the state. With his dedicated work ethic and knowledge of the music industry, Dave is a top notch studio that will never disappoint. This is what led me to revisiting Dave 50 years later when I attempted to find an original copy of my record.

Exploring the various music stores in Jacksonville, I came across Clark's Music Center…read more Located in the Lakeshore area, Clark's has recently moved to a new location, in the process downsizing their operations. They now focus on guitar and percussion, and have moved away from keyboards, which is sad for me. The store is small, but they have a nice little selection of guitars in the store, along with a repair section that appears to handle more than just guitars. I saw a cornet trumpet being brought in for work, so they seem to know their stuff.

I use S & J, in spite of the fact that they are all the way across the country from me because: They are completely competitive in price with anyone -including the largest companies They pay attention to details -they recognize problems when they occur and fix them. I've had one large company print jackets WITH THE TEMPLATE LAYER STILL ON! 1000 CDs showed up with the word "TEMPLATE" on top of the art on the front! Are they even looking at these jobs? I can't imagine this type of error ever coming out of S&J. They actually look at the work and will question anything that looks odd to them. Personal attention -I deal with the owner, Jeff Fravela, who actually works on my jobs. He calls me when there's a problem and will work with me to make the job right. (Some of these big companies will make you reload all your files when all that has to be done is nudging an element over a pixel or a layer turned off) Jeff takes care of the simple stuff that I can't believe some of these other companies will throw back in my lap. I like dealing with a small, private/family-owned company I've done half a dozen CDs with S&J now and they are my go to shop. This company rocks.
