Now the cons; **For an event space, it's an odd shape, long and narrow. ** The industrial heaters and rafters hanging 20 feet up cant be hidden easily. So if you are hoping to completely camouflage the interior, you'll have a tough time. **The walls are cinderblock and painted in a light color. This makes the drabness stand out. The owners should paint the entire interior black (or white). There are multiple colors going up the wall that make it look like a workshop or oil change place (which I think it was). ** The back has an overhead, garage style door that needs to be covered. ** Is there heat or air conditioning? When I was there, the front door was kept open, so I cant be sure. Make sure to ask when inquiring. ** NARROW!!! You enter into a small front room, then a narrow hallway, then a kitchen/bar area on the right, and stairs to the loft on your left. It makes the area very crowded.

Most of all, the owner is very professional and yet kind, personable and very easy to work with at the same time. I have asked for adjustments, add-ons and changes at the last minute this past week, and he simply checked his schedule and worked with me. I am using VIP studios for a dance rehearsal, but I have been to several parties here. It is a very versatile location and the price is rather reasonable!

Their packages are affordable and the facility is nice. We chose a package that included the décor and it was so beautiful! Our classmates kept commenting on the location and the décor. You can go all inclusive or add in what works best for your budget. A huge shout out to Veronica, our event manager who was very friendly and helpful! Thank you Red Door for helping to make our event a success! I will definitely tell others.

First of all, please accept this review as constructive criticism.  The building is a house…read moreconverted to a venue.  The event center is downstairs and is very small.  The workers kept walking throughout the performance crossing in front of us.  There was nowhere to place my legs with the card table set-up.  Management did not place my group at the correct table, and they kept inquiring about the number of our table.   Poor service; very unprofessional.  The bar was set up in a corner.  Drinks were weak.   They acted as though this was their first time serving patrons.  We ordered simultaneously, and two of us received their food (a pasta dish and hot wings).  The food was cold.  After 30 minutes, we received chicken tacos, which were soft tacos shells and some substance supposedly chicken.  It looked more like turkey to us; no flavour and extremely cold.  We were totally taken back.  Apparently,  there isn't a functioning kitchen at the facility. Not even sternos to keep the food hot.  Where is the quality?  Why put an event together and it was thrown together?  We try to patronize black owned businesses, but to present that poor quality is a disservice to us.  Then, on top of that, the emcee was a straight-from-the-hood woman with poor grammar that talked on and on about nothing.  Quite simply, jazz is classy music that attracts a certain genre of people.  The band played and moved as though they were auditioning or rehearing.  During the intermission, they presented spoken word.  Horrible.  We left in the middle of the poet's set.  They even allowed the photographer to speak, thanked his girlfriend, and solicited his services.  I will never recommend this establishment or "band."  A waste of my hard earned dollars, time and patience.  I will be sharing with all forms of social media to put the word out. My clients and I parked in the courthouse parking deck, which was about $6, I believe, and we took a short walk over. The bathrooms were clean, and we were basically the only ones in the museum besides workers on a weekday. We checked out the Flat Rock exhibit first. This is what drew me to the museum in the first place as I have been wanting to check out the actual Flat Rock Archives for a long time but just haven't had the chance to. This exhibit and all the exhibits on-site here were free. This was a fairly small exhibit, but like the others here, there was quite a bit of info to digest, so I recommend taking your time to read through everything or whatever catches your eye. After the Flat Rock exhibit, we checked out the Decorative Arts exhibit, showcasing some interesting old pieces in the museum's permanent collection. Then, we made our way to the Dekalb County history exhibit, showcasing the past 200 years of Dekalb County. This was probably my favorite exhibit on display, just because there was so much info on different places and people that as a transplant I hear a lot about but don't really know all the ins and outs about. It was all very interesting and informative. Lots of civil rights history and even info on places like Buford Highway and its history - a stretch I travel daily but didn't know much about. We ended the self-guided tour with a walk through the Avondale Estates exhibit, displaying the area's controversial history. I had heard some of the history of that area on the news a while back, but had no clue that it was similar to Forsyth County (and a lot of areas historically I'm sure) in that they basically did everything they could to keep non-whites out as long as they could. There was more history on the people of that area and how things have improved. Once again, there is a lot to digest, but definitely worth a walk through and some time spent. I would highly recommend this museum and all the current exhibits if you're a history buff or just want to learn more about the community, whether a transplant like me or visitor. I would definitely return to see other exhibits in the future, and apparently, this is a very popular wedding venue also, so there's that! Check it out if you haven't yet.
