We had no idea where to go so we just walked. We crossed a bridge and saw a sign for a restaurant. As it was pouring we just went inside, hoping they were still open. They were. The boyfriend and I love games. All games - video, board, card, you name it, we love it. So imagine our surprise when we walked in and saw tons of board games. Lots of fantasy-style artwork and D&D stuff everywhere! Plus, they had food! The server came over and showed us the specials. I had the Stout Pie. The boyfriend ordered a Curry Soup and something I can't remember. He ate everything - really enjoyed it. I loved the salad the pie came with. The pie was interesting, but I kept biting into bone, so that wasn't my favorite. But that salad! Wow, that was great! :) I even had the BF's, it was that good. The bathrooms are downstairs and I went just to check it out. There's a whole other section of tables downstairs with even more games. There's costumes and everything. Damn, we were wishing we could stay just to check out a game night. This place looks so awesome! We are already talking about returning just to check this out more in depth. The food is really great quality. You don't just get crap burgers and fries like you would in the States. They really have a deep menu of fresh, great items that will leave you very satisfied. It is one of the only "study friendly" coffee shop type restaurants around. Also the tartines and salades are really good. Desserts are good too. Coffee is good too. I had brunch here one time and it was the best brunch of my life. Also, do French restaurants even to brunch? Not really, so this is a great find! We come back to this restaurant every time we visit Grenoble.

Whilst it's very hot in Grenoble all of the bars along this place have fans and/or piping that squirts small droplets of water over everyone - which does seem to make it feel a little cooler... and just about survivable. Unfortunately, while the service is still great, the food is just not as good as it used to be. ATMOSPHERE/DECO Typical Alps/mountain décor, the restaurants decoration is very cool with ski, old farming equipment on the wall. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Lot of windows and light. SERVICE Very friendly and fast, our waitress was also funny and helpful. They have several wait staff speaking foreign languages as well. PRICE Price was good for the area. Dinner for 4 with drinks and wine was under $150. FOOD Sadly, it was not as good as it used to be. While my go to order, hanger steak with morel sauce was still excellent (and I highly recommend it), my dad and brother fondue was just not good at all. Not very cheesy and taste like cornstarch (or other thickener agent), the charcuterie plate for the fondue was ridiculously small with sub-par quality meats. Dessert was also not as good as in the past, the profiteroles puff pastry was likely frozen and harder than I like. The ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream on top were excellent. MISCELLEANOUS There is no parking close by so keep that in mind. They do have English speaking staff and I do believe I saw an English menu. The charcuterie meats were nice thin cuts with great flavor and the smokiness paired super well with the melty salty cheese along with the soft pillowy potatoes Scraping the heated melty cheese onto the plate and quickly enjoying the combination of flavors, temperatures, and textures was so exciting and fun!
