Spring through autumn you'll find an orgy of locally-grown seasonal fruits and vegetables; in the winter not much grows in Germany besides cabbage and squash, but the selection is still pretty good (supplemented by items grown slightly farther away).
Additional vendors sell fish, meats, cheeses, breads, and (quite reasonably-priced) organic wine.
