There are 2 menus - English and German. English menu has far more expensive pricing - 20 Euros for a bowl of noodles. Service was terrible - was seated immediately but no one came to take my order until after 15 minutes. I flagged down 2 waitresses but they told me to wait for someone else that would take my order. I felt that my waitress avoided me and made sure to attend to every other guest before taking my order. After ordering, food came about 10 minutes later - relatively quick considering I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. When I requested the check, the waitress literally waltzed around and cleaned up empty tables, set the tables, checked on other guests and chatted behind the counter. After about 10 minutes, I received the check for 23 Euros - one noodle soup and water. Unfair pricing, terrible service and average food = don't come here. You're better off looking at images of food at the foodcourt in the mall and pointing to what you want.

BUT that might be offset by the 'pros,' especially in a particular circumstance: you're hungry for pizza. the thin-crust, wood-oven Neopolitan style pizza, which you can find all over Munich, is all well and good -- but that's not what you want right now. You're hungry for that thick-crust American style pizza, kind of like Dominos (and you're feeling a little conflicted, even admitting that to yourself). Make up an errand to go pick something up at one of the many shops in the mall -- jump on the Ubahn, make your way to U2 line and go all the way out to Messestadt West (Riem Arcaden). Then you can grab yourself a slice of pizza at Enrico Rossini. [warning -- it's inside in the food court, not the stand-alone restaurant Calabrone, which is fine but very typical Munich/Neopolitan]. Enrico Rossini's is not New York style (it's thicker than that), but not Chicago style (definitely thinner than that). But it's got a thick, chewy, crust, really decent sauce -- toppings are generous and decent quality. It might strike you as pretty expensive for one slice, but it's a BIG slice. They have beer & wine too. It'll take care of that craving. And you have your errand at the mall as your cover-story, so you don't even have to admit you made a special trip to eat at a food court.

The ambiance is phenomenal, and our waiter was very friendly and made excellent recommendations. If you go there and you're a tourist, ask them to show you what's good! I had the veal schnitzel and it was sublime. Yes, a schnitzel, which is a humble dish, can be superb when it's this well done. The meat was tender and flavorful, the soft breading complemented it well and the cranberry sauce was the perfect accompaniment! Finally, the potato salad that comes with it would make any German proud. Finally, what blew us out of the water was the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert!!! I don't usually add three exclamation points in my review, but this one deserves it. The portion is generous, so you can easily share it with two or three people.
