I had a conversation with friendly Dominic Morin, the manager/owner (he's listed as "le directeur" on his business card - I'm unsure how that directly translates). I told him I was sad there wasn't any food[1] for purchase, only coffee, and he noted my complaint (now they actually have SORBET in addition to their espresso). He also pointed out a few pieces to me, and mentioned his sister was an artist here; I also checked out these animal plushies (amusing cat and octopus ones) sitting on a huge IKEA shelf. Much of the random art there was graspable stuff - tres cool. Zone Orange is worth a visit.

They unfortunately don't do it. They rent wedding dress. But boy, is this place great to look at! The stock is amazing! They have everything. They even have realistic fake rubber trouts to recreate those "Asterix and Obelix" village fight about fish freshness. I'm a sucker for hats and they had plenty of them. But sadly...No wizard hat. (I think maybe it was elsewhere) Also, they have crew to make custom armour design both in leather and metal. They have lace from France made by machines designed in the 1900 (or something like that). The owner's son, Mark, was most gracious and helpful. He showed real interest in us and why we were shopping and provided excellent observations. We picked up the most beautiful brocade fabric with gold tones with sparkling thread for my mom's outfit. With a bit of friendly conversation, he offered us a special price. If you're looking for quality fabrics and excellent service, come here! Definitely recommend!

Hot Frye cowboy boots, sadly not my size. Who am I to argue with a silk, chinoiserie Elie Tahari tunic in slate blue for $160? (Ok, not cheap but the same price if we put together those three crappy Simons' dresses I never wear). They have the usual key fobs, postcards, T-shirts, and tchotchkes. If you go further back into the store, there's some higher end merchandise. Even a few unusual items. On this Rue Saint Paul there are several souvenir stands. It's always a good idea to check out the competition, before you make a purchase. You might find something nicer in a lower price.

Seriously this is a gigantic Winners and Homesense all-in-one location at the Place Versailles mall, literally steps away from Radisson metro station. Like all Winners and Homesense, it can be hit or miss but I've walked away with more hits than misses at this particular location. You'll find all sorts of unique items for your home if you like to decorate like I do. Recipe books, rugs, olive wood cutting boards, vanity mirrors, hand-blown glass vases from Poland, you'll find all of that here and much more. I think because this location is farther away from the city center, it seems to stock better stuff. Not a big deal. If you're on the metro, it is about 20 minutes from downtown, but keep your ear buds on or read a book and you'll be here in no time. Also, if you like picking up and collecting quality recipe books, this Homesense is the best place for it. I have picked up classics like the 2 volume boxed set of "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" by Julia Child, the classic of Italian cooking "The Silver Spoon", "The Gourmet Cookbook Vol. I and II", all of it in hardcover and for a fraction of what you would pay for them anywhere else. The Julia Child set I often see online for $60+. I picked it up here for $30. It's always worth stopping here and looking because stock changes all the time here and you'd be very surprised what you'll find.
