The staff here is pretty nice - you'll almost always get into a conversation with someone who will be happy to tell you about their latest products and artisans that TTV is working with. Stuff: Everything is fair trade - you'll find jewelery, dishes, wall hangings, sculptures, CDs - even Tibetan singing bowls! They have a pretty vast selection and you can almost always find something unique that was handmade by local artisans of participating countries (check the label on the item you pick up - you'll see where the artisan is from). Price: Very reasonable. It really depends on what you buy and how much work into it; for example, a wall hanging can be expensive and so can some of their awesome art pieces. More importantly: TTV's mission is to create opportunities for artisans in developing countries by bringing their products to our markets via long-term fair trading relationships. They work with 35 countries and 130 artisan groups, offering them fair value for their work. Did you also know that store clerks in your local shops typically don't get paid for their services? They're all volunteers (except for store managers, I think). So what are you waiting for? Instead of giving your money to companies that don't really need or give a crap, spend it here, where you are helping to make a difference in communities where every bit helps.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. If they don't know the answers to my questions (I…read morealways have so many!) they usually will direct me to the right person. I find the prices are a bit high, relative to other stores and online. They do have some random liquidation items sprinkled around the store, too, so depending on what kind of art or crafts you do, sometimes it is easy to find some really cheap supplies. They do have a great selection of products and a great point program, especially if you are a student!

Now, that I am a very frequent customer, I know my way around the store and often go search for what I need in drawers. Next time, I guess, I will have to break store rules and go on ladder myself to get the canvas from the top shelves, instead of running around searching for available sales person. But, the staff is friendly and helpful, if you find them. Some are knowledgeable, some are less. One sales person didn't know what is Liquitex in a paint section... I wish that they have more choice and variety of products. They don't have many of what is available on the market. Some regular products such as TriArt Titanium White (!) are missing in the store for months. They say it's on back order, but it is more likely that no one is taking a good care of the inventory and order products BEFORE they run out of them. Overall it's a good store with flaws. This review is not to put the store down, but to be heard (maybe) by Management, so they can make improvements.
