I called Gator Sod in Fellsmere, and told them that all I needed at present was enough sod to make the front yard look presentable, as we'd be putting a fence up in the back and landscaping anyway. ... Gator Sod quoted me $570 for 3 pallets of sod! I couldn't believe that a) we needed that much and b) that our small job could cost that much, so I called to confirm, told her I really just needed from the sidewalk to the corner of our house and she confirmed the quote. Not only that, but they arrived about 4 hours (and without calling) later than they said they would call and come for the estimate. That's where Shady Grove comes in! I called them and told them that we were in a pinch, needed sod within a few days (before our final inspection for the pool). That was yesterday afternoon. I'm pleased to say that it's 10am, and I have sod out front. They sent two guys to give us an estimate, and sent them with sod just in case ... as they knew we needed it rather quickly. The best part is, we paid $160 installed. The guys from Shady Grove were professional, quick, and just so wonderful. I told them about the $570 quote from Gator Sod and they said that even if they covered every single spot that needed new grass, it would still come in under $500 ... So. There you have it. The plants at the nursery are beautiful. The lady who greeted us, listened to us and talked "plants" with was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She said her boss was the one who would come out to our property, listen to our questions, study the property and provide us a design. I asked if he had pictures of the plants to show us and we could discuss. We made an appointment and also purchased a palm to be delivered. The palm was delivered but he cancelled our consultation. We tried again, but no luck. We really like what we see at VISION 43 but need some consultations and a plan before we are comfortable making such an investment.

(We're experienced gardeners) Tried to get an exchange, credit or refund -- or even an explanation -- but after several days of unanswered phone and email msgs, we finally heard back from nursery manager Stephanie who blew off our concerns and refused any assistance, citing "it's not our concern once it leaves the property."
