We're new in town and we're Shady Grove's newest fans for life…read more We got a pool put in and needed to re-sod parts of our yard. I called Gator Sod in Fellsmere, and told them that all I needed at present was enough sod to make the front yard look presentable, as we'd be putting a fence up in the back and landscaping anyway. ... Gator Sod quoted me $570 for 3 pallets of sod! I couldn't believe that a) we needed that much and b) that our small job could cost that much, so I called to confirm, told her I really just needed from the sidewalk to the corner of our house and she confirmed the quote. Not only that, but they arrived about 4 hours (and without calling) later than they said they would call and come for the estimate. That's where Shady Grove comes in! I called them and told them that we were in a pinch, needed sod within a few days (before our final inspection for the pool). That was yesterday afternoon. I'm pleased to say that it's 10am, and I have sod out front. They sent two guys to give us an estimate, and sent them with sod just in case ... as they knew we needed it rather quickly. The best part is, we paid $160 installed. The guys from Shady Grove were professional, quick, and just so wonderful. I told them about the $570 quote from Gator Sod and they said that even if they covered every single spot that needed new grass, it would still come in under $500 ... So. There you have it. Now, we'll be doing all our landscaping with Shady Grove. THANK YOU for the honest, quick, professional service!

The plants at the nursery are beautiful. The lady who greeted us, listened to us and talked "plants" with was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She said her boss was the one who would come out to our property, listen to our questions, study the property and provide us a design. I asked if he had pictures of the plants to show us and we could discuss. We made an appointment and also purchased a palm to be delivered. The palm was delivered but he cancelled our consultation. We tried again, but no luck. We really like what we see at VISION 43 but need some consultations and a plan before we are comfortable making such an investment.

I've bought many plants online from different shops and you never know how they will arrive but Catherine always makes sure to package them properly so I've never had an issue when I open my box which is what keeps me coming back! They have an amazing nursery just full of every kind and size of plant you can imagine. All of this is very well organized, and they answered all of my questions. Believe me, I ask a lot of questions. We bought three 25 gallon "Christmas Palm Trees" and they promptly came out to our home and planted them. What a difference this has made to our Sebastian experience! Gorgeous trees and an exceptional experience. We went back yesterday and shopped in their farm stand, which is a part of the nursery. We bought fresh corn still in the husks and delighted in their soft serve vanilla orange swirl orange ice cream. The offerings in both the farm stand and the nursery are too extensive to list, so you need to go there to see in person. They are in a rural part of the county just up 66th Avenue from 20th Street. The owners were both born and raised in Indian River County. They are extremely knowledgeable about everything they sell. The nursery and farm stand are on land that was owned and tended by the Peterson family since 1913. My wife and I so enjoy going there.
