I would not use this caterer again. While the service was very good in terms of the attentive owner and staff and the timely delivery of the food and set-up (this was for an off-site event), we were disappointed in the quality of the food. They market themselves as a "gourmet" catering outfit, and while the selections all sound like in the "fine dining" category, we did not find the dishes we ordered (off the "hors d'oeuvre" and "tea sandwich" menu) for our luncheon anything out of the ordinary. Especially the single cheese platter, for which we paid $247.50 (for 45 people) contained the usual array of cubed and sliced cheeses. Only the little bit of brie would count as a more specialty cheese. So anything but gourmet! In short, pricy for what you get. read more

We had a bridal shower high tea at this venue. Tina was fantastic, she was helpful, considerate of allergies and very thorough. It was easy to setup and take down everything. The staff were all so kind, attentive and friendly. If I find myself in a position to host another similar event I will absolutely be working with Gathering Pointe. I think I would change the food flow and serve sandwiches with scones and serve quiches as the second course on its own as it was the only hot dish. It read more

I came here for my friend's bridal shower. It's an intimate venue with limited seating, but perfect for something like a shower, birthday, or organization gathering! The food was delicious, and the chicken-stuffed pastry was topped with the cutest little heart to celebrate the special occasion. The restroom was one stall only, but spacious and clean! The owner Pam was so kind and was hands-on to help make sure that everything ran smoothly. Check out this charming little gem for your next special event! read more

My mother has been here several times. This is her meet up spot with some of her local friends. It was always her go to got their spinach, feta and tomato. Mom is bummed that their no longer a cafe or restaurant. They do have meals to go at least. Working on my mom to consider a meal to go, it's during the week. Orders have to be in my 2pm, Monday-Thursday for the next day pickup or delivery. Gotta make sure the parents eat a solid meals through the week during the pandemic. read more

I'm going to have to agree with several other reviewers that the service here is going to be their downfall. I went in on a Saturday morning to get some pastries and the interaction was just comical. There were no less than 6 people milling behind the counter - 2 older ladies - presumably an owner(?) and 4 youngish (late teens/early twenties?) ladies all trying to help one woman pick up an order. After waiting patiently for a few minutes, one of the younger ladies noticed me and asked if I had been helped. Nope, I had not. I ask about a couple things in front and tell her what I want. Then I notice the croissants on the left of the counter -(where all the other activity has been) and ask about those. I decide 2 croissants and 2 pastries will do. I tell the girl - never mind on these 2, I'll take 2 croissants and 2 palmiers. She hadn't even started picking up or bagging anything yet, but this caused great confusion. She started putting the things I had just said I didn't want into a bag. I said - No, I want this and this. Anyways - she finally gets it all right and uses the ipad system to ring things up. I was taken aback - $17.95 for 2 ham and cheese croissants and 2 palmiers. Wow - or maybe I just don't know the price of things these days - but seemed pretty high to me. I could have had a pretty good breakfast somewhere for that $'s. The ordering system also needs serious improvement. What good does it do to have 5 people behind the counter if you only have one ipad to ring people up with? In my case - they were in the middle of the other woman's order - so I had to wait until they were completely done with her before I could pay for mine. The croissants were good, about what you would expect for a ham & cheese croissant and the palmiers were tasty. I'd like to try some more of their items - but the prices and service will probably keep me out of there. read more

Wonderful cafe and baked goods. Saturday was busy and the only suggestion is that they revamp the entry, order, pay process. It's very slow if you just want something simple from the bakery and a coffee or tea. You're waiting in line behind people putting an elaborate orders. Great brownies and will need to go back to try the sandwiches. read more

We waited for 25 minutes & were never given the opportunity to give our order. A party that came in much after us was waited on & accommodated before we were even greeted. We did not get a chance to order because we were so frustrated that we left. The inside is adorable & the food looks amazing, but the service was terrible. I would give them two stars for the appearance but I am reducing to one because I was forced to eat a dry, crusty bagel from Einsteins because of this interaction (or lack thereof). read more

Drove to this place because they were 'open now' and had decent reviews, doors were locked middle of the day. Thanks

I really want to love this place but every time I go there the service is pretty bad. The staff seems lost and when they find their way to you, they are really slow at getting there. The food is good enough but it's hard to keep going back with such spotty service. They definitely need help figuring it out because the place could be so much better. After sitting for about 10 minutes, my wife and I ordered two meals... One breakfast sandwich, one omelette... the waitress comes back 10 minutes later saying she forgot what we ordered so we had to place our order again. 20-30 minutes later we got our food, but the wrong food was put into the ordering system. When the waitress went to apologize, she went to the wrong table (heard the waitress apologize and the table next to us say "nope, we got the right food") and and she never came to check on us. Needless to say, we were disappointed. They took the food off the bill, but I'd rather pay for what I ordered and not get a free meal that I didn't. read more

It's too bad, I want to leave a positive review about this place, but I can't simply on principle. I ate lunch here on October 23rd with a friend and paid with my debit card. Everything was great until a few days later I realized I was charged double ($40, for my $20 lunch) Normally this wouldn't be a big issue... but now it seems like I'm paying it forward... I called and was promptly told the charge would be reversed - no problem. A week later? No change to my account. Two weeks? Still no change. Three weeks - still nothing. It's now been a month since my lunch rendezvous and the double charge to my account has not been rectified. I've called every week, some weeks more than once, and honest to god I can't understand why reversing an error made on the restaurants behalf is this difficult. I've provided my card number, name, phone number, ect... and they still can't figure it out. The least they could do a month into this is buy me lunch.... or at least give me the meal I seemed to have already paid for... For mediocre cafe food, I won't be returning after this $20 nightmare. read more

When you walk in you get the impression that you're participating in someone's dream that has finally come to life. It's obvious that great care has been given to the decor and the menu selections. Service is very friendly, but a bit slow I enjoyed my kale quinoa salad; portions are very generous. My daughter thought her turkey sandwich was delicious. Presentation is lovely. It's a neighborhood cafe that is true to itself. You probably won't find any hipsters hanging out there or discover any trendy food profiles. But, you will experience warm hospitality and enjoy fresh, flavorful food that tastes as if it has been personally prepared with you in mind. read more

We stopped by for a mid afternoon lunch after looking at a couple of houses in Grosse Pointe Park. A beautiful European style cafe, minus the smokers, with comfortable seating, perfect relaxed old school ambiance, and a friendly staff. We sat by the window and poured over the fairly extensive menu of salads, croissant sandwiches, wraps, and paninis. We enjoyed some excellent New England clam chowder and cauliflower/cheddar soup. We also enjoyed a turkey artichoke spread panini. The desserts and baked goods look yummy, but we skipped those on this outing. I live around the corner and plan to return their soon. It's next door to the popular Park Grill. read more

Do you like little places with really well-done food and lovely people waiting on you? This is your place. We had a breakfast burrito (yummy, hot and the right amount of spice) and a Maurice Salad (romaine instead of iceberg, huge and every bit on par with my personal fave version at Mt. Chalet, yet $3 cheaper), two giant mugs of terrific coffee and an Elvis cookie (peanut butter cookie with chocolate chips and crushed pecans--genius). The staff chatted with us, brought water and a dog biscuit for our pup (we ate at the sidewalk tables) and were completely delightful. Don't go in a hurry, because this isn't that sort of place. Relax, read the paper, take your dog or date. Good things happen here. And make sure you buy a cookie! read more

Upon first impromptu visit, I was smitten and totally love this place. The Elvis cookie is AMAZING!, the feta, spinach and tomato Quiche which I had was solid. A tasty crust, lacked enough tomatoes for me, but next time I'll ask for more if possible. The coffee is wonderful, as are the cups they used. Charming is an ideal word for this spot. There was a young lady circling and refilling waters regularly. We took many cookies, pastries, and some gazpacho home. Can't wait to explore the menu further. Will definitely support this great establishment. Yay!!! read more

Had 3 meals from them and all were excellent-the Thanksgiving meal particularly good. I will highly recommend to anyone.

My first exposure to CPC was through a catered event. And believe it or not, it was the amazing Caesar salad that got my attention. I have a thing for the perfect Caesar dressing...this place has it! I went in just to order the salad & keep going back for it! Everythying else looks terrific; however its the darn dressing that has me coming back. They have perfected it! I would give 5 stars but the prices are high, IMO. read more

My husband and I struggle with this place because of the service. The food is great, but the staff can't seem to figure it out. I ordered two sandwiches to go; chicken salad sandwich and a build your own (wheat, tuna, swiss, lettuce, tomato, onion). I was ordering the sandwiches as the staff member plugged the order into the computer. She repeated the order back and I noticed the "lettuce, tomato, onion" was left off, so I made sure to repeat the order for a third time to ensure that was included. I was her only customer, and during my visit they had about 5 other staff members working, so no one seemed overwhelmed or overly busy. To my surprise, when the order arrived - the lettuce, tomato and onion were missing. I love supporting this local business, and I do love their food. When they get it right. I only leave this review in hopes the manager is an active yelp user, and can help support their employees when and where needed. read more

I had never heard of this place until recently, and I am pretty impressed! The atmosphere is great, and the staff is very friendly. Their baked goods look really good and they have a wide variety of scones. I had an apricot cranberry scone and it was delicious! We also ordered lunch- I got the Turkey Artichoke panini and it was huge! Especially for 6.75. It was probably equal to two sandwiches, and it was tasty. My mom got a kale-quinoa salad and thought it was really good- the biscuit it came with was yummy as well. You definitely get bang for your buck here, hard to find any item over $7.00. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because while our waitress was friendly, she wasn't very attentive. She never filled our waters and took about 15 minutes after we had gotten our food for her to come back. We ended up having wave another waitress down for a box. But that won't keep us from going back! read more

Terrible service. They are not experienced with handling a crowd and lack the customer service savvy to deal with a busy and full restaurant. I like this restaurant a lot and I hope they improve. I went with several girlfriends for breakfast and it took 50 minutes to get our food! There were two other tables and us so they were not busy. I am ADDICTED! We order the chicken caesar roll up from here all the time. It is always made perfectly and really has that hand-crafted touch. Then upon visiting one day we tried a pastry...oh lord. It was a chicken pesto dish served over rice. Amazing. The staff is so friendly! I can't say enough good things about this place. To those who complain that the food takes too long..This is not a fast food restaurant! Call ahead to place your order if you're ordering pick-up. read more

I went in with my wife on a quiet Tuesday morning around 9:15. Hardly anyone in the place. Counter coffee lady took 10 minutes to make a couple of coffee drinks and they came up one at a time. I decided to order a simple egg bacon breakfast. A half hour later, the server said it would be right up. 10 minutes later still nothing. I walked up to the counter. I had lunch here yesterday for the first time and it is just a really nice place. The food seemed to be cooked from scratch and everyone in the restaurant was friendly and accommodating. I was having a meeting, and while they had to close early to prepare for an event, they had no issue with us staying well past closing time. They mentioned to me that they are planning to start a dinner service soon, which is exciting because I feel like the options in this area are pretty limited.
