Veterinarians were caring, followed up with phone calls and demonstrated excellent clinical skills and clinical acumen when assessing our dog and providing recommendations. We are very grateful for the care provided to our furry friend. My compliments to Dr. Tam who provided internal medicine consultation and recommendations with excellent follow up. Dr. Baxter was very helpful in assessing the condition of our dog and helped us make the decision to proceed with end of life care but left the final decision to us. I would recommend this clinic highly. The care is expensive but you pay for their expertise in assessing and treating your pet. Consider purchasing pet insurance. I appreciate the fact that they are always open and available with very short wait times. Dr. Tom Ranieri (family physician)

First time she grossly overpriced me so much I wished I wasn't in such a state I would have yelled…read moreat her . Then I get home after dealing with the aftermath of the dog fight find out they charge me for sedation twice ?? A surgery ( 6 stitches ? Lol ) and the cut and clean ... I say again my dog going home with six stitches and that was 1400?! She now further need another surgery or proper drainage is to be done to her leg which was something they could've told me if it was OK that I could've waited until the morning to get this done and it would not have affected her life instead they casually arm behind the back make u believe now or never. Oh ps no constructive home care advice -based off of your experience with your animal how much hands-on can you do with it? Just send a large book to read if anything sure through my bleary tears.. advice like hot blanket on wound for circulation or Massage etc that they had going on they wanted to be open for some stupid reason lack of infection? Help drain so much straighten them into office she was unable to walk properly but they want me to get her into a tub to do hydrotherapy when she has wounds that are open all over?? Umm if it's logical explain it please because this stuff that overwhelmed me. and thus ended up ps pulling in her leg spilling blister fluid all night and now needing more surgery does not prevent preventative up care veterinary work !! That is called deliberate manipulative shitty work ending with u HAVING TO COME BACK !! if they had a hypocritical they would've just blown out of the water. Never mind there were one secretary Malinka making the mistake mistakes on my bill - she politely made me wait 15 minutes so it was 26° out to get me a bowl of water while she side and annoyed enter paperwork which was obviously more critical? Can you bring back my other dog after six hours of waiting she casually comes in and says well if you live close we can get your number and call you when there's an opening did she call me back now and the fact that she made me sit there for six fucking hours before she offered that as an option is disgusting. I'm out Albany vet and they are informing me that if they had just done the damn drain to begin with this would've never happened but was the drain even off no just a whole bunch of ridiculous surgical procedures that they said in total hours of $5000?!? What the fck prejudice to Pitbulls maybe maybe just put her down they're trying to Hint ?!? Arg decency what I said OK here's your budget here's how long she can make it take it to this Vet Clinic!!! in the morning they won't charge you this amount of money for this procedure that we're doing that's how you become a good vet that's how your name spreads in a "good way" Oh how novel ..then you get known about caring about the dogs and the people more than the money !! For fckn shame !!! No little kid wants to grow up to be a vet to take advantage of people in those moments knowing freaking well they can perform the procedure for 1/10 of the price they're asking. There is no set price that's why vets in the country are cheaper! 10,000+ K of cattle guarantee contract from one farmer alone they're not there to break your back and retire off ur grief . Countries vets morals are higher because they are already have a huge set of clients. The cutthroat attitude shouldn't be getting higher for shitty low grade bare fckn minimum quality of veterinary skills where a young blossoming vet savant of 12years old could have done better. Bare minimum nothing preventative all destructive.. wow

I decided also take my trama rescue cat Java to the vet they literally saved her life and the vet tech Gail was so amazing she was able to handle and examine my little java. Dr.kolla and this clinic I highly recommend. I had a dental and s lump removal for peanut and respitory infection for java . I have 0 complains and all positive feed back. I've been to many many vet over s span of 30 years and this one is the best so far. Thank you all west brook staff . You are the best

My experience with Westbrook Vet Clinic started out great - initially…read more Staff was really friendly and they were all excited about her, as they had never seen her breed before; a Black Russian Terrier. I then booked an appt. for her required second set of shots. (note: I spent quite awhile at that first visit, as what dog lover doesn't love to talk about their dog? LOL. I felt they were a bit 'heavy handed' about the insurance. But take it or leave it right? As it turned out - to get insurance for my dog; with a $250. deductible it would have cost me ONLY $500. plus per month. I just about fell on the floor. I was stunned that anyone could say that with a straight face. Seriously?!?! Obscenely ridiculous. I don't know anyone - with or without tons of money who would EVER consider paying such extortion-like prices.) However, the part that left me VERY UNIMPRESSED was that when I went in for my appt. (you know; pre-booked for that specific service?) The vet was friendly and examined her in a small exam room. He gave her the kennel cough nasal dosing and then proceeded to tell me that they 'were out' of vaccines. Sooooo NOT COOL!! But stuff happens and although I wasn't thrilled to have to return again; it was not the end of the world. Right? So, I return when the vaccines 'came in' and I was stunned to have a 'woman from the front counter' (what were her credentials? was she a vet tech? She didn't clarify anything) She just took her leash from me and promptly WALKED AWAY WITH MY DOG (not inviting me, the owner to follow or otherwise) she went into one of the exam rooms and passed thru the rear door (closing it behind her) I, of course followed, thinking 'what the heck are you doing lady?!?!' I open the rear door to their back room - where I said "Um, I want to be WITH my dog and SEE the vaccination" and there she was giving her the injection! Of course she may well have been a trained vet assistant but I'll never know! She was quite arrogant about the whole thing and acted like I was making a big deal out of nothing. I PAID for a physical exam and expected the VET to give her the injection. (I can go to G & E Pharmacy and obtain my own vaccinations for about $9 bucks. *** I have owned dogs forever and done this countless times in the past; when my pets were in great physical condition (you cannot do rabies yourself, but I had never taken any of my dogs out in the bush or forested areas so I never had rabies shots done) Needless to say, the 'in-stock' preparedness was a big FAIL but the 'woman-at-the-counter-walking-away-with-my-dog' (without explanation) was ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE. I have dealt with vet techs and have no problem. But in this case who knows what her training was? The ONLY reason I go to a vet is for 'THE VET'!!!! Never again. - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE - VERY POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS They blew it, period.

I'm not intending to malign with this review, simply asking that you please consider the other options before you spend too much money here for the same result. My cat wasn't eating or drinking - and it turned out she had pancreatitis. CTPH gets one extra star because they recommended the right medication to heal my cat. When I brought my cat in and she was diagnosed, they presented me with the first bill (900$+). I then broke down in tears because I'm a server and a student, and there is no way I can afford this without going into debt...So my cat is going to die? That's basically the reaction I had. The veterinarian then said directly that if I couldn't afford veterinary fees then perhaps I should contemplate not owning animals. Then he said that he'd see what he can do about bumping the cost down. The vet returned with the second bill (380$) and again, I received the message that due to my inability to pay for all the treatments, that my cat would be getting "subpar" care (vet's words). Implicit in this statement is that, because I'm low income, I cannot properly care for my cat. I left, I treated her in a "subpar" way, and guess what: she's well again and thriving. I didn't need any of that extra stuff. For example- day hospitalization. 52$... I just had to stay an extra hour while she had tests completed. Tell me again: Which option shows more care for the cat? TL;DR the CTPH are slick, which might lead you to think that paying upwards of 1000$ per visit makes you a good and caring pet owner. Almost a year later - I've been going to The Mill Creek Animal hospital for my pet's needs (two cats and two visits so far) and they have been outstanding in terms of integrity, cost, and compassion. I waited to post this negative review because I still didn't know what an honest veterinarian looked like in Edmonton. Please consider the other options before you spend too much money here for the same result. Even just call on the phone and compare prices, you'll see.
