In my opinion, the administrative staff of a doctor's office is oftentimes - these days - more…read moreimportant than the doctors themselves, because the information that passes through their hands is permanently recorded and used by insurance companies to categorize and bill. A doctor might be amazing but if his administrative staff and gate keepers are not 'on the ball' - the overall experience is lost. The staff should be good listeners and good stewards; trustworthy, knowledgable and compassionate - looking after our very important medical information. In the case of Dr. Derek - I will never return to his office and it is 100% because of his administrative staff - specifically, his daughter Karli. Karli (in my experience) did not listen - was not trustworthy - was not knowledgeable - and definitely was not compassionate. In fact, if I were her, I would be ashamed of myself. So - in short - I will no longer be entrusting my care to this doctor - or more importantly his staff - and I don't recommend that you do either.

It is really an honor being able to visit a doctor like him who really has seen it all and dealt with everything. Thank you Sir. Front office staff ( Carlye & Virginia ) Are super smart and do a great job of keeping things organized and on schedule. Some of these other reviews are just plain ridiculous. The staff at Pediatrics Medical Center and our Doctor, Dr. Michael Goodin is the best! We have 3 children ages 7,9, and 11 and he has been our pediatrician for about 5 years. He is "old school" the type of doctor that existed in yesteryears. He is very careful and meticulous during the exams, writes and provides us with hand written notes, and makes sure he answers all of our questions and concerns. If we had to describe the perfect pediatrician it would be Dr Goodin.

I Highly recommend the Pain management class!…read more I had the greatest experience and understanding at the pain management class given by Dr Savitri Rambhatla. I understood the function of the brain and how it functions when you are a chronic pain patient. How you can help integrate alternative medicine to restore it to the best that you can. Meditation and chakra healing were few of the modalities I got interested in. I felt empowered when I left the class. I very highly recommend it. Dr. Savitri Rambhatla has an analytical brain of a physician and an intuitive mind, a heart and soul of a great healer. She is very passionate and I would say a born healer. She has spent hours emailing, texting, meditating with me. One morning I lay in fear of all the things I need to do while pain and fear clouded my thinking. She supported me by reducing my pain through guided imagery. I found I had control over my pain. Pain need not control me. I am convinced, her deep knowledge in Allopathic medicine and Integrative medicine will help further the treatment of pain management in a big way. Everyone should go for this informative class. ALSO LOVED THE CHAKRA ENERGIZING SESSIONS! After attending the extremely informative and surprisingly pain relieving Pain Management class given by Dr. Savitri Rambhatla, I went about by business taking the 2 Chakra Energizing sessions. We addressed the 7 chakras individually and each was followed with a meditation to open up any blockage and energize the respective chakra. The sessions were conducted by Dr. Savitri Rambhatla a renown neonatologist and her husband, my doctor, Dr. Kamalakar Rambhatla who is not only an amazing physician but highly spiritual. I was taken on a journey of self awareness, deeper understanding of self and purpose. Felt moved, cleansed and rejuvenated. The family is blessed (at least a generation before them) with the desire and thrust for knowledge and understanding of Hindu sacred text and how it can play a role in transforming the world. Coupling the ancient Vedas with the deep knowledge of the western medicine is an earth shaking combination. What you experience feels authentic and heart felt. I highly recommend Chakra Energizing sessions!!

Anyone should only wish to find a doctor with Dr. Ginsburg's commitment to always the most modern care without compromising on traditional values around time/attentiveness to the patient, privacy, decorum, and so much more. I tried to like this doctor but I just couldn't deal with it. I just needed a simple monitoring…read moreduring my pregnancy, someone to take my TSH level once a month and let me know if I needed to change my dosage. This was the process: - Wait in the waiting room for 20 minutes. - Wait in the exam room for 30 minutes. - Dr. Ginsburg comes in, very slowly looks through my chart and asks me how I'm doing. Very slowly checks my thyroid & neck area. Calls the nurse in to take my blood. Leaves after 4 minutes in the exam room. - Nurse takes blood. - I call back 1-2 weeks later since results take a long time. - Nurse can't give me results on the phone, he has to personally call me. - He calls back and says that he will give me results at next appointment. - OR he calls back and I miss the call but he won't leave the results in Voicemail - just for a simple TSH level. - He sent me for other testing at different locations because he heard a heart murmur. And I had an ultrasound done of my thyroid. For one of the results it took almost 3 months and multiple appointments for him to get the results back to me. I would ask him about it and he would say they weren't in yet or that he needed to check with a nurse. Finally I got fed up & asked a nurse and she simply printed them off the computer and added them to my file. Geez. Was that so hard? He just seems like he isn't all there anymore. He is very elderly. You can't really communicate with him. You ask him a question and he pauses for a VERY awkwardly long time before answering. Or he'll turn around and look at the chart for 2 minutes and you wonder if he even heard you. He does everything veryyy slowly. He never asked me much about my previous medical history or anything about my pregnancy, PCOS, etc. He never goes into detail about anything. Everything is "fine." He doesn't seem to remember my medical history or what he is talking about or what he had already gone over with me. I just switched to a new doctor at UCLA and she spent almost 30 minutes with me, talking to me the whole time, and the most Dr. Ginsburg ever spent with me was 5 (mostly silence filled) minutes. After waiting 1 hour for him to show up. He IS nice. And he WAS the first doctor to mention to me that I had a slight heart murmur. But it just was never a good experience. He's also VERY touchy feely. When he's telling you goodbye he'll grab your hands or put his hands on your shoulders for an awkwardly long amount of time. Maybe it's in a grandfatherly sort of way but I find it uncomfortable.

The waiting room was very clean and comfortable. It was an added touch to get 30min free parking for drop off and patient pickup. Once called in to prep for surgery, all of the staff were very attentive and skilled especially on inserting the IV.
