Clip and Chip I…read morewon't be telling you not to take your dogs to this groomer but will let you decide on what course of action to take We took our golden doodle and our terrier cross to the groomer, we were completely happy with how the terrier cross had been groomed But our golden doodle was a different matter. My Golden's doodle's fur is normally between 3-4" we explained to the groomers that she is due to be spayed on Monday and would like the fur to be slightly shorter and we told them no more than an inch shorter. We purposely went into the shop when making the appointment and spoke to the owner and she assured us that wouldn't be a problem and they could blend her coat at a shorter length. On the day she wasn't there and we explained our needs fully to the staff. We have had slight problems before when a chunk of fur was missing behind her ear and a clipper burn but we gave them the benefit of the doubt as they normally do an ok job. When we returned to pick up Daisy there was an atmosphere and before they brought her out we were told not to be alarmed they had to cut her short in a few places due to matting. I was so shocked and angry I just paid the money and left telling them I was unhappy with what they had done to my dog all I received was a shrug of the shoulders and non caring attitude. After calming down the next day I returned to the shop and the owner wasn't there again, I was met with the same disinterest and disdain for the nerve of complaining and all they wanted to do was eat their pizza while dogs were running around the shop on the floor being paid no notice while they chatted. I didn't ask for a refund and never have as this won't get her fur back now until it regrows. I just cancelled my next appointment as I will never be going back there. My biggest complaint is that we weren't consulted at all and a courtesy phone call never happened in my opinion the matts could have been dealt with differently rather than shaving the whole dog. There were 3 clipper burns on my dog where they had not taken any care either. From my previous post where the groomers told me it would have been cruel to do so but a vet said they could have been easily removed I know who I personally believe but again that's my personal opinion and I'm not an expert so will leave you all to decide I was contacted by the owner on Saturday morning wanting to come to our home to inspect what they had done, I sent her all the photos that had been taken. She explained to me that she had a serious illness which although I have compassion for doesn't make up for what had happened at her salon as ultimately her staff are what represents her company. She admitted to me they should have phoned before any work that was done that deviated from a customers instructions she wouldn't comment on the matting although she had all the photos in her possession. I removed a Facebook post out of courtesy until she had visited this morning, I'm not sure what this would have achieved but was willing to listen. I received a text early this morning to apologize that she wouldn't be coming as she was too ill and she would see the dog next week. Bear in mind I had already explained that the dog was being spayed on Monday and we would be receiving no visitors as the dog needed complete rest. So I have reposted my reviews In response to the claims that we don't groom our golden doodle every day for an hour I can categorically say this happens and we have never had any matting problems for the previous 10 months when we took her there so to be told we were making this up and we were brushing her incorrectly by groomers from London and Brighton who wouldn't have seen the posts and they jumped to the conclusions it was all my fault and not the groomers and it's standard practice to take photos. I was also threatened that my name was added to a blacklist where I would never be able to get another groomer again Thanks for listening and will let you all decide if I'm making this up or just someone who cares for their pet
