Enchanted, old German hotel and restaurant located just away from the city set in a quiet escape. I…read moreordered a Deer Filet entree and it was nicely prepared. I loved the sides it came with, particular these very delicate fried, mashed potato dumplings. These were exquisite!! Portion size is generous and the sides come in a separate platter (potato dumplings, beets, gravy and fried potatoes). For a Tuesday night, it's quite busy and I would recommend reservations for a table. The interior has the old, rustic charm. Waitresses wear the traditional long dresses too. Service is very nice and they have English menus available. Very nice ambiance. Salad bar is also available too, but it was just fine, pretty good by German standards, but as an American, its not enough vegetables (think meat salads and pickled things). Overall, this is the best option for dining, food, and culture in this area.

I enjoy a good beer garden but pardon my American perspective. The main problem I had is that my…read moreorder was wrong. I did all of my due diligence and translated the menu as I should. There were pictures above lady's head that said goulash and noodles. She repeated to me goulash and noodles. Then she gave me something else that had no noodles and tasted like stew from a can and leftover dressing. I really just wanted something closer to bar food to go with beer, but I was prepared to go with the flow. I was with three co-workers, and they also shared my displeasure with the food. There also seems to be a insect problem. Instead of flies, they have bees which were just as off-putting. I had the goulash with some kind of dressing, and on top of not being what I ordered, it was nothing special. I wouldn't recommend for American taste.
