But what wasn't reflected in the pictures and in all the data on the website was what a wonderful host Bart was for us. Not only did Bart ensure that we had a ride from the airport to our guest house (during a pandemic). He also had the fridge stocked with food and a bit of alcohol for when we arrived! Bart did everything from grabbing us takeout meals and groceries to helping us with our first parking ticket . He bridged the language barrier with the locals for us on countless occasions. He even helped me purchase a car from a local! I can not overstate how helpful Bart was to help us make the jump into the European lifestyle. The place is awesome, Bart is amazing, you've found your Guest House.

Being from the U.S. and making our first trip to Germany, the staff made it easy getting to the apartment with a taxi and a representative met us there to do all the paperwork and recommended restaurants in the area. A few days got pretty warm and air conditioning would have been nice but outside a couple months in the summer A/C isn't necessary there. The location was very safe and I would recommend it to anyone considering visiting.

JVW has a private, party room that can seat up to ~70 people which was a big plus. The food was very good. We had a fixed menu where guests could choose from schnitzel, pork knuckle, salad with prawns, or potato pancakes. Prior to selecting JVW, we came to the restaurant to try each item and were pleased the quality during the rehearsal dinner was the same. In addition, JVW was kind enough to print out menus in English and German for this special occasion. The owner/manager (Max) was very friendly and responsive via phone or email. Every time we stop by (both before and after the rehearsal dinner), he spends some time with us and chats. I look forward to more visits at JVW! FYI - The only downside to our event was I wish they had more staff. For a party of 45-50 people, we only had 2 waitresses so food and drinks were a bit slow. The restaurant is located on the Monschauer landroad - between Düren and Monschau and is quietly situated at the edge of a forest. This restaurant has a beautiful terrace e.g. for an aperitif at sunset. As the holder family of Jordan's Le Marché told us this is also often used during summer for dinner . On Easter evening, it was still a little shrilly outside for this. The tasteful - not stale facility, the beautiful open fireplace and friendly service made us quickly go well. Good portions, tasty and very fresh food was served to us. Also, the drinks prices are very ordinary.
