We held a wedding rehearsal dinner at Jan von Werth (JVW) in July 2016. Many of the attendees were…read moreinternational guests so we wanted to have a traditional, German dinner near the city center and our new flat. JVW has a private, party room that can seat up to ~70 people which was a big plus.
The food was very good. We had a fixed menu where guests could choose from schnitzel, pork knuckle, salad with prawns, or potato pancakes. Prior to selecting JVW, we came to the restaurant to try each item and were pleased the quality during the rehearsal dinner was the same. In addition, JVW was kind enough to print out menus in English and German for this special occasion.
The owner/manager (Max) was very friendly and responsive via phone or email. Every time we stop by (both before and after the rehearsal dinner), he spends some time with us and chats. I look forward to more visits at JVW!
FYI - The only downside to our event was I wish they had more staff. For a party of 45-50 people, we only had 2 waitresses so food and drinks were a bit slow. In addition, JVW prefers communicating in German.
