It had…read morea mix of patrons at night... people working on their laptops, families dining, and a couple of tourists (that was me!) showing my remarkable ability to forget every word in Spanish. The service was fantastic. The man working there was very nice. Despite his (unnecessary) apologies for about his English skills, he got us everything we wanted and kindly. I saw that he was great with other customers, including kids, too. He gave the place a great vibe. The food was pretty solid, too. The pizza was tasty and had a perfect crust. They had several beers on tap. And the after dinner coffee wasn't bad, either. And, at least compared to the places closer to tourist havens, the prices were pretty reasonable. I left pretty happy that Atenea was the place I happened upon when I was getting hungry. It seems like a great place for a lot.

Rafa, who is one of the owners, was attentive and generous with his portions. The ambiance is quirky chic. Comfortable and warm. I'm including pictures because my words aren't good enough. The food was good, the service was good, but the ambiance is LOUD when there are performances scheduled. I was a little disappointed in the feeling of being "shoehorned" into a seating area as more and more people arrived, but I would like to go back and try this again when it is not so packed. I also have to compliment the staff - they were able to keep from losing their minds with an incredibly full house on their hands. A couple more positives: There are several delicious vegetarian options for the tapas menu, but if you are leaving without trying at least one of their desserts, you are missing out. I was tremendously impressed by those!
