The location, the ambience, the service, the food and the wine list was just spot on. We were a group of 7 and we all loved it very much. Perhaps one of the best wine lists I have seen in Germany with an amazing selection of German wines, top class. It's a restaurant located in a 19th century villa and it's beautiful inside and out. There is a private area upstairs for an event or a private party. Very classic but comfortable and cozy interiors with a modern touch. We had a set menu that the chef had prepared for us and the wines were also Pre selected by the chef. Ask them for wine recommendations and it was spot on. The food was great. It looked good and tasted fabulous. The fish was cooked to perfection and you could taste the vegetables. The fish with morels was my favourite dish of the evening as was the dessert. The wines we had was excellent and the dessert wine recommendation from the chef went perfectly with the fruity dessert. I would come back here again any day. It's a fabulous restaurant that serves great food and offers very friendly service. A true gem in Bonn.

As a token of our appreciation, we had offered to take her to this restaurant. We had decided to come here because it came up in the Michelin guide for Bonn/Cologne and the reviews seemed to be glowing. I also had opted for it because it offered a separate vegetarian tasting for those of us that refrain from eating meat. I had made the reservation via email about 2 weeks prior to our arrival, and once we arrived at the restaurant (which is not clearly marked, I might add. With the name containing "gasthaus" in it, you would think that it was just a fancy inn from the outside), we were met by the warm service staff and even the executive chef himself. Once seated in their beautifully decorated dining room, we began our 4 hour long meal. Yes, it was 4 hours long, with about 8 different courses (I am counting the various treats we got from the kitchen as well. They weren't small enough to be considered amuse bouches, but they were slightly smaller than our actual courses). Because I had the vegetarian tasting menu, my dishes were quite different than my companions. I really appreciated how each dish was carefully crafted and also how my meal was just entirely different than my companions', and not just a meat-free reduction of the same dish. Both dessert courses were phenomenal and I was very fond of their gnocchi dish as well as their ravioli dish. The detail given to us by the staff was amazing, as you would expect from such a nice restaurant. Even the bathrooms were lovely, as they had a whole tray of various toiletries and cosmetics you could use to freshen up. I suppose it would just go with the whole atmosphere of the restaurant, being in an older federalist style house and all. If you have the means to do so, consider having dinner at this establishment. Our dining party had a lovely time here and while it was kind of a once-in-a-lifetime kind of meal, I'd certainly like to dine here again, if given the chance. Beautiful restaurant, beautiful food, beautiful service. All the hallmarks of a fine dining experience.

Even though the outdoor decor looks like backyard furniture that you'd find any anyone else's back yard, the food most certainly is not. The service is superb. The food is beautiful but not overwrought and all of it was very tasty. The foie gras terrine is top notch, and HUGE. I don't drink but my boozy friends were very happy with the wine list offerings. I think this little place should be on its way to a Michelin Star one day, lawn furniture and all.

The menu is fairly extensive with lots of options to pick from. I had the entrecôte and it was cooked well but too fatty for my liking. The baked potato with quark was my favourite dish of the day :-) Service was very good and quick. The food arrived fairly quickly and prices were a bit on the expensive side but not bad. All in all an ok experience that I am likely to repeat when I am back in the area.
