The kids were given coloring pages and pencils (always a plus!) and their rösti with Raclette plates were sooo good. The restaurant was very clean and care was taken to distance diners during the time of COVID. Our waiter was wonderful and took the time to explain everything to us. Another evening we stopped by for drinks and dessert. The bartender poured me a special liquor from his personal collection; something that was native to Schaffhausen. It was super strong (in comparison to American alcohol, of course) but good. I also ordered a crème brûlée. Since the owner knew my friends, he let me flambé the top of the dessert myself! It made for a special evening during my vacation. The ambiance of Theater Restaurant is exactly what I'd expect for a European cafe: modern yet simple, with window-side tables in the front room, a lounge bar, and a menu written on a chalkboard wall.
