Lovely day in the country. Mutter Jutte has been operating since 1833 and is a popular Ausflug for people in Goettingen and Duderstadt. The Gaststaette specializes in old German cooking and in game. Since Pfifferlinge were in season, I order a dish with pork cutlets and pfifferlinge in a cream sauce. The setting in the garden was a treat on a sunny day. The prices are not "village" prices, probably becasue the place is quite popular, but it's worth a drive for anyone looking for an afternoon in the country. read more

We found this place a few years ago and usually stop by here on our way through Germany. If you're in the area and are looking for some good traditional German food, this is your place. Mutter Jütte is famous in the area for their scalloped potatoes and seasonal game. People literally make this restaurant their hiking and day trip destination. We were told that goose on November is a specialty but make sure to reserve a table. One of us is vegetarian and we have been pleased with Mutter Jütte's accommodations. Ein tolles, traditionelles Gasthaus in der Nähe von Göttingen. Die Gerichte sind sehr lecker - wir kommen am Liebsten zur Pfifferlings- oder Spargelzeit. Bei gutem Wetter kann man prima draußen sitzen! Der Betrieb ist sehr familiär - man fühlt sich herzlich willkommen. Immer wieder ein Ausflug wert! read more
