I came to this AMPM around 2 AM and the doors were locked. This isn't the first issue I've had at…read morethis location, but it was definitely the last straw for me. Almost every time I come here, there are people just hanging around right in front of the entrance, including employees. It feels more like a bar entrance than a convenience store. It's uncomfortable and not inviting at all. Tonight, finding the doors locked at that hour was extremely frustrating. It seems like the staff just do whatever they want, including locking the doors whenever they feel like it. I should have taken a picture, but I was honestly so upset that I just left. If this is a franchise location, the owner needs to be aware of what's going on. If it's corporate owned, then corporate needs to look into why there are always people lingering at the front door and why the store appears to close randomly. Either way, this experience was disappointing enough that I won't be coming back to this AMPM. @ampm #ampm #GasStation #GasPrices #FuelUp #ConvenienceStore #LateNightGas #RoadTripStops #FillUp #24HourStore #PumpAndGo #GasStationLife

We stopped late Wednesday night at San Ysidro 76 petrol station, to fill our tank and stock up on the typical petrol station rations, to get us through, til we hook up with our local friends down in Boca De Santo Tomas. This 76 station looked pretty decent and definitely looked nicer than the other stations we passed, plus it was well lit. The area wasn't that bad either, assuming you're armed :) Our diminutive shopping list, consisted of your typically petrol station snacks and beverages; beer, chips, sweets, beef jerky, chapstick, more beer, and milk (it's for the Kahlua Midnight, not our cereal), oh yeah, and condoms..lol. I reckon it was approximately 9 P.M. and there weren't many people out, except for what I can only describe, as shady looking characters, which consisted of a few blokes, trying to sell us Marijuana along with an accoutrement of illegal drugs. Which if we were interested, but we obviously weren't, we definitely could've got them a hell of a lot cheaper once in Mehico. Which is just a stones throw from the petrol station. But we say nope to dope ;) Oh yeah, we did manage to actually buy petrol. Petrol is definitely more pricey before crossing the border. But I would've dreaded running empty, whilst trying to navigate through the streets of Tijuana. The surfing conditions down @ Boca De Santo Tomas today are absolutely sick. Consistent winds coming from east-northeast, with massive swells pushing in out of the west, which is just pumping out some clean breaks. We're definitely getting some wicked long left-handers to slot. The waves are easily pushing 8-9 feet, the conditions have been consistent since 7:00 this morning, and they're still pumping like crazy. Water temps are a nice 64 degrees. We definitely have found some epic conditions down at Boca De Santo Tomas & Lighthouse (Punta San Jose). Time to head back in, the waves are waiting, and my belly is full :P Cheers & enjoy your holiday! If I only had an extra week, I'd cruise down to Cabo, jump on a plane, fly into Oaxaca, and hit up Huatulco and Salina Cruz, about 350 miles north of Guatemala. The surf is massive. Major offshore storms causing low pressure systems which are packed with tons of energy, causing ridiculous winds, that are currently blowing up the surfing conditions. Waves are currently peaking at 18+ feet. I sound like a freakin weatherman, but you have to be at times, to find the epic surfing conditions. Awesome, unfortunately we're not there. But we're definitely enjoying Baja :D BTW : I highly recommend San Ysidro 76 as your last stop, before heading into Mehico.
