AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! After spending nearly 4 years on my…read moredaughter's orthodontic treatment at Woodlands Family Dental, I am absolutely appalled by their deceptive practices and substandard care. Potential patients deserve to know the truth about this establishment: The revolving door of doctors is inexcusable. We began with Dr. Eshelman who disappeared without any notification whatsoever. Not a single staff member bothered to inform us he was on medical leave or that treatment would be transferred to another doctor. Even worse, we discovered through our own questioning that Dr. Costello, who supposedly "oversees" orthodontic treatment, is NOT even an orthodontist - a completely unacceptable omission when charging premium prices for specialized orthodontic care. The practice blatantly allows the orthodontic assistant, who is very nice but unqualified,  to perform procedures independently and make critical treatment decisions with minimal to no supervision, which violates Texas dental regulations. We had years of appointments with no doctor present at all, and when one finally appeared, they barely glanced at my child's mouth before declaring everything "looked good" and no further treatment action. Their pricing is also shameful. I was hit with an outrageous $500 bill for a basic teeth cleaning that involved no special procedures whatsoever - pure price gouging at its finest. After investing four years and thousands of dollars, the results are frankly subpar. My daughter's smile and teeth alignment are nowhere near the quality we paid top dollar to achieve. The orthodontic assistant - not a doctor - handled the entire braces removal and permanent retainer bonding process, another clear violation of proper standards. When I dared to question Dr. Costello about obvious alignment issues, she responded with stunning condescension, as if I had no right to expect quality results after spending thousands of dollars. Now they expect me to throw many thousands more to them for veneers on two teeth? Absolutely not. Their unprofessional conduct, deceptive practices, and mediocre results have cost my family enough time and money already. Stay away from Woodlands Family Dental unless you enjoy overpaying for substandard care from unqualified providers.

New to the area, My daughter age 30 and pregnant went in for a teeth cleaning and new patient check…read moreup. She said the teeth cleaning was not thorough and very quickly done. I guess they wanted to get to the expensive items! She was given a $300 3D scan of her mouth that she did not ask for but they have everyone do, so that they can pay for their expensive machine. She was told by Dr. Asha that she had "bacteria in her mouth above her implants" which had been done several years prior by a different dentist. She was told that her 2 baby teeth (which have perfect roots and no adult teeth behind them) needed to be removed and implants done. Dr. Asha also said she needed several fillings done. Unbeknowst to me, my daughter left the office in tears, thinking of the enormous expense. After relaying the message to me a few days later, I told my daughter I would make her an appointment with our very trusted and wise dentist of over 20 years in our city and state when she visited in a couple of weeks. Now for the good part: My daughter and I saw our trusted dentist a few days ago and had the report from Dr. Asha along with a copy of an xray for her to see. Our trusted dentist said that there was no reason whatsoever to remove the baby teeth until they would get loose or give her problems. Our dentist said that she had a patient have a baby tooth until she was 70. The surgical procedure for implants and implants themselves would easily be $15,000-$20, 000!!! No thank you! Bacteria?! Our trusted dentist just laughed and said we ALL have bacteria in our mouth. Our trusted dentist found no cavities and said my daughter needed no large fillings. She said that my daughter had 1, possibly 2 teeth that have a small amount of erosion where she would fill in with a small amount of resin. Run from this office!! JUST RUN!!!!!!! It makes me so angry that they would do this to a young pregnant woman knowing how expensive all this would be. She left this office in tears!!!! Complete scammers. Run from this office!!!! Our trusted dentist said that she is seeing this more and more and gave us other examples of other dentists doing the same in trying to rip people off with unnecessary procedures. It is really disgusting in how greedy and dishonest people are. God sees it and He protected us from this office.

Mr. Cort, the hygienist, is always calm, nice, and sweet, and the rest of the staff has also been wonderful. Unfortunately, our most recent visit with the dentist was very disappointing. My special needs son, who is autistic, nearly cried because the dentist could not get him to open his mouth for an X-ray. Instead of showing patience and understanding, the dentist became loud and pushy, saying, "He wont open his mouth, I don't know why he wouldn't, he's done this many times." His tone was not discreet, and the interaction left my son feeling scared and uncomfortable. My son almost cried while he was sitting at the chair.
