My family of 4 has been coming to Dr. Squyers since 2015. His office staff are very nice. The hygienists always do a great job cleaning our teeth and getting those hard to reach places under our permanent retainers. I really like the fact that he is honest. He doesn't try to charge for unnecessary things. If he sees something on an X-ray, he will say let's watch that vs other dentist that want to fill right away to get more billings. He really helped me out when my gums had a strange flare up after I had Covid. He did some research and then called a prescription for a rinse and it really cleared it up. My daughter is in college now and she drives all the way from College Station to continue to see him. Overall super great dentist and you hardly ever wait for your appointment. read more

Beware! Future patients should know what could happen. Gary was recommended by a friend. She said he is very good so I trusted her. Unfortunately that was not the case for me. First of all, the girl at the front desk didn't seem friendly. She came off cold but I brushed it off. I thought maybe she just sounds like that or doesn't know how to communicate in a courteous manner. I went in for a consultation and we discussed what was going to be done. My two front top teeth were dissolving from eating too much acidic foods witch created little craters at the top of my teeth and food would get stuck in there. This is something that has bothered me for a really long time and I was excited to finally get it taken care of! Also, I already had to wear a retainer (which he ruined) because my bottom teeth pushed my top teeth out. I told him that my teeth are straight when I take my retainer off in the morning but that they move back out by the end of the day. I look at my teeth every day when I brush them and when I make video calls so I know how they were before he touched them. Gary was nice and didn't push me to do anything I didn't want to have done like a lot of dentists do and I liked that about him. We agreed to do Bonding because I didn't want to do too much to where my teeth looked different. I just wanted those craters covered and to be able to where my retainers after he adjusted them. Overall it was a great visit with him so I scheduled an appointment. I went in a week later and everything was fine. Gary and his assistant were working on me and we joked around about me getting gold teeth. I could not wait to see the results! He finished and they gave me a mirror to take a look. The bottom of my top tooth was rough and choppy. I asked him if he could smooth it out and he said that we have already discussed that he couldn't re-shape my tooth with the bonding. I agreed and told him I didn't want a new shape, just to smooth it so it wouldn't look rough. Keep in mind, I was talking to him in a calm tone and simply voicing my concern and pointing out what he missed. I had no clue that he does not take patients voicing their concerns very well and that he takes it personal. I just wanted a clean job. I expected to have the job done right. Any way, he went ahead and smoothed it out. Then I told him that my bottom teeth were pushing my top teeth out when I closed my mouth and asked if he could file them down just a little. He said it was not my middle bottom teeth but the ones next to them so he was kind enough to file those down for me. He also filed my retainer so they would fit with my new teeth but he filed too much to where they were not going to work or keep my teeth from moving. Now I have to get new retainers. I didn't take a second close look and went to pay. After that, I went to the bathroom to clean my face and have another look. That's when I noticed a chunky spot with a little crater where food can get stuck (the problem that I was trying to get away from in the first place). Then I realized that there were more rough spots close to the edges. So I went to the front desk and asked to come back in so they can fix what he missed. I went back and his tone and energy was so bad. I pointed it out and he said that I would have to get Veneers if I want my teeth to look perfect. I just wanted a clean job and he did a sloppy job. I was still calm the whole time even though he started to get more snappy and insulting. Every time I voiced my concern, he came back with a quick smart aleck response. He didn't stop to listen to what I was trying to say to him. It was very uncomfortable trying to defend myself but I didn't want to walk out of there paying for a bad job. I told him that I could see bumps and groves that he missed and he told me that no one was going to be that close to me to notice that. I told him "but I could see it." Then I told him that I didn't want food to get stuck in those holes and once again he quickly responded saying that food naturally gets stuck between teeth. I said "right, but I'm not talking about in between my teeth, I'm talking about the holes." He went ahead and went back in to work on it. At some point, his assistant (whom was super nice) came in to assist how she was earlier. She started to take out what I think was the bib then he told her that she didn't need to be there and basically told her to leave. I was very uncomfortable. So he smoothed out the hole but refused to work on anything else. I left feeling like I didn't get my moneys worth. I went home to brush my teeth with charcoal to see if any more holes would show. It was fine BUT that's when I noticed that he left my bottom tooth looking chipped! It was like a "U" shape where he drilled with a sharp point at the corner. Dr. Squyres is awesome, super fair and reasonable, the wait is nonexistent or super short, and the staff is really nice and accommodating if you hate the dentist. He doesn't try to make up problems just to charge you. He sees dark spots and says we should watch them instead of immediately saying "we should fill that," which I think is a great sign that he's not a money grabber. I also love the hygenist I see, she's so nice and fun to talk to! They're also super nice if dental work stresses you out. I once came here to get a filling done during finals week or something, I hadn't been sleeping much at all, and I think I was fighting with the bf I was dating at the time or something, just was overall teetering on the edge of your typical college mental breakdown. On top of that, I've always hated the drills at the dentist, I'm so paranoid they're about to hit the nerve lol. So while he was drilling my tooth, I was just so stressed and exhausted and anxious about the drill that I started crying. They were super nice about it and took breaks and everything, then the next time, I guess they had made a note that I don't like the drill, and asked if I wanted them to clean my teeth with gentler tools. Luckily my mental state had returned to normal by then so no waterworks in ight but they kept asking about it for 2-3 more visits, which I thought was super nice of them. Office mgr. is horrible. I went to get second opinion (per insurance co.). When I went back I was told that it would be in my best interest to get another dentist. This has never happened to me in my entire life. Could not believe what I heard. Dentist is very good but mgr. is very Kurt and opinionated. When confronted she would not say it was possibly a mistake. Second opinion was suggested because ins. Company would not pay for extra charge($300) because it was suppose to be part of origional charge. Wonder if dentist mgr. was charging double!! Watch your bill and question all expenses. read more

I have visited now on 2 occasions in the past month and find this practice both very professional and extremely welcoming. The staff are friendly and competent and walk you through all the necessary steps regarding insurance etc and Dr Squyres is very accommodating and experienced. I decided to choose Dr. Squyres since I m right down the road from his office (plus they took our insurance). The receptionist (Barbara) was very nice and accommodating when I made the appointment. I was starting a new job and needed to get my teeth cleaned in a matter of days. While she said they were pretty booked, she would squeeze me in. They mailed my new patient paperwork to fill out prior to coming in, which made the waiting room time very minimal. Amber, the dental hygienist, was very through and asked me several questions and took some x rays. She did a very gentle cleaning and then Dr. Squyres came in and checked out my teeth and reviewed everything. He is very personable and takes his time meeting with you. He may have had a bad experience with her, but do not let that deter you from coming to this dental practice!
