He was able to get me in on extremely short notice, which alone was impressive. What really stood out was the level of professionalism, care, and attention to detail throughout the entire process. Dr. Acosta performed my wisdom tooth extraction and is also helping me with cosmetic dental work. From the initial consultation to the treatment itself, he took the time to explain everything clearly, answer my questions, and make sure I was comfortable every step of the way. The procedure was far smoother than I expected, and the recovery process has been excellent. What separates Dr. Acosta from many healthcare professionals is that he genuinely cares about his patients. You never feel rushed, pressured, or treated like just another appointment on the schedule. His staff is welcoming, the office is professional, and the quality of care is exceptional. If you're looking for a dentist in Pacifica, San Francisco, or the surrounding Bay Area, I would highly recommend Dr. Acosta and Pacific Coast Dental for wisdom tooth extractions, cosmetic dentistry, and general dental care. Finding a dentist you can trust is difficult, and I can confidently say that Dr. Acosta has earned my trust and future business. Five stars without hesitation.

It is always a pleasure to come in and get my dental needs taken care at Pacific Coast Dental, and if you are deciding between a few options for a new dentist, Dr. Acosta should be at least in your top 3, but I would just say CHOOSE HIM -- to me he is #1, and you won't regret your decision.

I called in because my daughter was in pain in the back of her jaw due to her wisdom teeth. They…read moreassured me that they could take care of her that evening. I did not expect that anyone would pull out her teeth that evening. I just wanted them to xray that area and make sure that's what it was, and to give a referral to a specialist if needed. They took her in and insisted on xraying all her teeth with the vinyl ones you have to hold in place in multiple tooth areas. They then sat her in the chair and began cleaning all of her teeth including the very back molars next to where wisdom teeth are located. She was in tears at this point waiting for the dentist to review the xrays. She came over and stated there were no cavities, see you in six months. I was very confused at this point because I stated wisdom teeth on the phone, said it again when we came in and when they insisted on cleaning the teeth when she was in pain. The dentist then told me that they do not have the ability to xray the wisdom teeth area, that is a panoramic xray machine that is done standing up. She said they would writ a referral for her to see an oral surgeon for an evaluation. I asked them if they could writ a prescription for one or two pain pills to overcome her now increased level of pain from the cleaning. The dentist said it wasn't warranted for a simple cleaning. This was a shady money grab that left my daughter in more pain than she came in with. How dare you get me into your establishment under the false pretense of being able to offer guidance for my daughter. I took your referral to a different oral surgeon where they removed four impacted wisdom teeth from my daughter's mouth. The oral surgeon you would have sent us to was not even in our Delta Dental network. Do not trust this dentist!!!

The hygienist gravely informed me my teeth were in "terrible condition" and insisted I book cleanings three times a year -- apparently my mouth is the dental equivalent of a condemned building. They also completely misdiagnosed the cause of my tooth pain, sending me to a surgeon for two wisdom tooth extractions I didn't actually need. That surgeon? A sequel nobody asked for: sloppy closure on the extraction site, infection as a bonus feature, no prescription for pain meds, impossible to reach, and billing practices that made me wonder if I'd wandered into a used car lot instead of an oral surgery office. Also, my teeth were quite fine after a second and third opinion...

He replaced my porcelain veneers with sturdy composite crowns about a decade ago. My dentist brother, who practices in Monterey and specializes in cosmetic dentistry was impressed with Dr. Ho's artistry. After being a biannual dental patient with strong healthy teeth, a floss twice a day, take care of myself girl for life, I had some health issues starting in 2019, including broken back, which rendered me immobile for about a year, during covid. My insurance changes and the office changing location did not help, but ya know.....No excuses. The truth is that I had not had a true dentist appointment in over 5 years ( save for a drive by cleaning from my brother's hygienist a couple of years ago.) Today was that first appointment in 5 YEARS and i left South City Smile smiling ear to ear. i was expecting it to be a painful and excruciatingly expensive visit, requiring follow ups,for cavities and a root canal as punishment for neglecting my dental health and not carrying dental insurance. To my surprise and delight, the appointment was pain free, no cavities and a clean bill of dental health. My mouth feels fresh and clean. Best of all, the bill for cleaning, exam and X rays was reasonable. Angelica and Lyndia are the sweetest. At South City Smile, the equipment and ambiance are state of the art. When i gagged at the xray bite wing thingies, the hygienist found smaller ones to accommodate my small mouth and made the x- ray process much more palatable! Dr. Ho performs a thorough exam and did most of the cleaning himself and his chair side manner is above reproach. I was praised for my hygiene and habits of brushing and flossing well, rather than being chided for neglecting my appointments for years. Thank you to South City Smile and the amazing Dr Ho. There is so much chatter about the state of your dental health being a reflection of your overall health. This 56-year old, aging ingenue and geriatric micro- influencer (my son's nickname for me) will be sleeping well tonight. Please do not follow my example of putting yourself last. If, however, you have been neglecting your smile, or need a new dental practice, make your appointment today!

That alone speaks to the trust and confidence we have in this practice. The staff is always welcoming, kind, and friendly, making every visit a pleasant experience. Over the years, I've had everything from routine cleanings and fillings to a recent root canal, and Dr. Ho has consistently been professional, attentive, and thorough. He takes the time to explain procedures, makes sure I'm comfortable, and always delivers excellent results. I trust him completely with my dental care because he genuinely cares about his patients and the quality of his work. I'm currently undergoing Invisalign treatment, and I'm thrilled with my progress so far. I'm excited to see the final results! I've recommended Dr. Ho to both my family and coworkers, and I wouldn't hesitate to continue doing so. The only area I think could use some improvement is scheduling. One of my appointments had to be rescheduled three different times before we were able to find a time that worked. While I understand that schedules can change, last-minute adjustments can be difficult to accommodate, especially with a busy work schedule. Overall, Dr. Ho and his team provide outstanding dental care, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, caring, and trustworthy dentist.

Every single visit has run late, not just a little, but by quite a bit. At first, I sat in the waiting area for a while past my appointment time, and once I was finally brought back, I waited even longer in the dental chair before the dentist came in. They do try to make you comfortable with massage chairs and calming TV scenes, which I appreciated at first, but after multiple visits, it feels more like a distraction from how long you're waiting. When Dr. Betita finally arrives, the appointment feels rushed, almost as if she's trying to catch up because the next patient is already waiting. It doesn't give you much confidence in the quality or thoroughness of the care. After cleanings, I left feeling like my teeth weren't even that clean, not that fresh, polished feeling you expect. If you have a couple of hours to spare and want to relax in a massage chair, this might work for you. But if you're looking for timely, attentive dental care where you leave feeling confident in the work done, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. Better scheduling and more patient-focused time during visits are needed here.
