Recently I tried to make a follow-up visit with my physician Dr. Alday. First I was told that he would be out for several weeks. I made an appointment with one of the other physicians. When we had our telemedicine appointment she asked why I didn't see Dr. Alday. I told her what I was informed he would be out for a while as his wife just had a baby. She looked into it out of curiosity and said he did not just have a baby (a different doctor did.) the offices internal calendar said he is working on a project. It was upsetting that we were not informed of this unavailable time, I then got very sick a few days after my follow up appointment and saw a third doctor. I would just like to know ASAP Monday whether or not Dr Alday will continue to be our physician and if so, when will he begin to be available again. Both backup doctors were very nice and knowledgeable but not the office staff as they still can not tell us when he will be available. They even say that they can not tell us when he will will be available and why he isn't available now. even tell us when we can see our physician & why he cant see patients in the future. I would appreciate knowing. I was very upset for both of us. My husband & I I are longtime patients of his. This is extremely upsetting to both of Us. My husband goes every month, and I go approximately ever 3 months. I don't know why there is so much confusion at the support staff level. Or maybe it is secrecy. We believe we deserve a clear answer on this because if we should be evaluating different doctors from different practices. We would appreciate a clear answer on whether or not your office is suggesting we see someone else. I would appreciate if the staff could look into these matters and get back to us by finding out when or not they will be able to confirm our doctor will be able to still care for us. Beginning the process of finding another physicians. is will take us time. We like Dr Alday and have been long term patients of his., if he is no longer taking patients we believe your office should have have known about the doctors and will he still be able to keep us as patients. If your answer is no, we will need time to find another local physician in our network that we are pleased with. Please contact me Monday, April 5th in the morning. You should have my phone number on your file. 201-274-5600

From the moment he walked in the room, I immediately trusted him and knew I was in good hands. His bedside manner is impeccable and he really takes the time to listen to you to make sure he's giving you the best recommendations. Unlike many doctors I've met in the past, he's not quick to shove a prescription in your face and have you on your merry way, which I really appreciate. He's also really good at making what would be awkward questions a more casual (and humorous) conversation. I just moved to the area and I'm glad I found him, because this will be my primary doctor moving forward. I highly recommend him and I'm going to be referring my friends and family members to him. Thank you, Dr. Espina!

I was able to make an appointment that day, and met with Dr. Che a few hours after making my appointment. Her office is located right on Canal Street on the second floor. Very easy to find. Dr. Che knew exactly what questions to ask and she is very thorough. She had me describe what had happened prior to the pains and asked very specific questions on certain details, and was able to figure out what was wrong. I really liked her! (maybe because she reminded me of my mother?!) She was very thorough, precise and professional the entire time, and she seemed to genuinely care, which i really appreciated. I usually HATE going to doctors, but I would totally be okay with going back to see her.

I had already got my results directly from quest 2 days after my initial appt. I had to schedule a virtual appt with the doctor that started 2 hours late but that was after I called at least 4 times. When I mentioned how long the wait was I was told it wasn't that bad. But the receptionist definitely called to take my copay appt on time! The office staff was very distant, cold and inexperienced. Ok, so it might be considered a tad strange to review your OBGYN. Talking about your doctor,…read moreespecially your Gynecologist, is considered private subject matter for some women. It's like the Seinfeld episode when Jerry asks a few women who their personal doctor is and gets slapped in the face. That's kinda how I feel about writing this in public domain but then again, a quality doctor is so hard to find. How else will you know if they're good unless the patient reviews?? I discovered Dr. Gershowitz by way of my Uncle. I know strange but my Uncle worked for Montefiore Medical Center for almost 25 years so when it came to doctors he always had the best resources. I've been going to Dr. Gershowitz for a few years now and after some pretty crappy OBGYN experiences, she is the best. Nice bedside manner and gets down to business. Prepares and explains everything she is going to do. Is thorough in her questioning and seems genuinely concerned about her patients well being. She will always give her honest opinion as a doctor, not as someone promoting a medication. Things to know: -The office line is usually busy. Keep trying. - Expect for it to be hard to get an appointment. When you call be prepared that your appointment may be scheduled weeks or even months in advance. -They don't take debit or credit card payments under $20 so if your co-pay is less, bring cash. -Dr. Gershowitz is perpetually late and sometimes disappears after your appointment even if she wants to talk to you. Be patient, schedule at least 60-90 minutes in your own calendar for your visit. Another secret tip, Dr. Gershowitz is quite liberal with BC samples. A nice plus.

And Dr. Gershowitz used to be very warm and seemed to care about your problems, but I went in a few months ago concerned about a potential STD and she brushed off my concerns saying my symptoms were "most likely" a result of my birth control. I insisted on being tested anyway, and luckily although they did come back negative for STDs, I did have a bacterial infection that would have gotten worse if I didn't treat it. It just frustrates me that my doctor, who has supposedly been in this field for a long time, would downplay legitimate concerns and symptoms. I felt like she was in such a rush to see other patients that my concerns were being treated like I just wanted attention. Then when I called for a follow-up appointment, I was told the next available was over 2 months away. Maybe this is just a NYC thing, but it's totally ridiculous to me that someone should have to wait TWO MONTHS to take care of their health. It's great she's so popular, but maybe she should limit taking new patients so she can actually take care of the ones she already has. I'm finding another gyno that actually has time for me.
