My doctor was Dr. Edgar Lopez. This was less of an extraction and more like a pit stop at the Daytona 500. I have had teeth pulled before, but Dr. Lopez worked as though he were being timed for a world record. He used three different instruments as he torqued, twisted, harassed, brow-beat, and finally yanked the tooth from my jaw. Following the extraction, there was no aftercare whatsoever by Dr. Lopez. Nothing. It turned out that, following this extraction, there was a gash in my mouth that exposed my jawbone. But I didn't find this out until approximately three weeks later when I went to a dentist in Peru. There, they found the injury. Though I had returned to his office three times post-extraction because of persistent pain, Dr. Lopez never did find the injury. Either Dr. Lopez did not realize he'd injured me, or he realized it and covered it up. Not sure which is worse. It took three months for the gash to heal; the pain lasted three weeks. I came to calling Dr. Lopez, "The Butcher of Biscayne." If you go to this place and get Dr. Lopez, just make sure to tell him to take his time. Oh, and don't expect there to be coffee in the waiting room on the table beneath the sign that says, "coffee." I think this is just another way to torment clients. That, and they inconveniently keep the bathroom locked at all times. (Maybe the coffee supplies are hidden in the bathroom?)

Which was just a constant reminder that #1, I couldn't afford it, #2 Them trying to squeeze every cent out of me they could and #3 My insecurity of my crooked teeth. Please go somewhere else. I have many more stories and you don't have to time to read them. Just look for a different dentist. Comfort Dentists in Plantation has been an AMAZING replacement for me. Crowns the same day and so much love and support. :) No more fear or pain with them. Please see Barbara F. Review as well. I myself got all the kisses...Ladies beware.

From the moment you walk in, the entire staff is professional, welcoming, and genuinely treats you like family. The office is exceptionally clean, which I absolutely love. There isn't a speck of dust anywhere -- and trust me, I noticed (I have OCD). The dentist herself is incredibly straightforward and honest. She doesn't beat around the bush and will never have you waste your money on treatments you don't need -- unlike many other places. She truly has your best interest at heart. Most importantly, before coming here I wasn't confident enough to smile. Now, thanks to the amazing care they provided, I feel confident again and can finally smile without hesitation. This office truly gave me back the confidence I was missing. If you haven't experienced them for yourself yet, you really should. Don't just take my word for it -- go see how fantastic they truly are.

I have to say that from the moment I called to make the appointment, I felt welcomed into this hidden gem. Annie was very helpful and worked with me to find an appointment that fit my busy schedule. She is very knowledgeable and explained my insurance and financial responsibility clearly. She also offered different options and payment methods, which I truly appreciated. The day before my appointment, I received a phone call from Paul. He welcomed me to the practice and reminded me of my appointment time and the office location. He was very friendly. To my surprise, when I arrived at the office, he knew exactly who I was, and that made me feel important and valued. Like many people, I was nervous about going to the dentist--until I met Mafe, my hygienist for the day. She helped calm my nerves right away. She completed my intake, took my X-rays, and I have to say that Sonrisas Dentales has top-of-the-line X-ray technology. I already knew this because I had researched the office beforehand, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Dr. Viviana has many educational videos where she explains what to expect in different dental situations. I believe that a dentist who takes the time to educate their patients is a dentist who truly cares. Mafe did my cleaning, and she was extremely gentle. I felt very well taken care of. I also met Daniela, Dr. Viviana's dental assistant. She was very attentive and gentle, and she contributed to the warm, caring environment that I experienced throughout my visit. When I met Dr. Viviana, she greeted me with a warm smile. We talked about my medical conditions and how they affect my dental care. She put me at ease and reassured me that everything would be okay. Throughout the visit, I felt as if I had known her for a long time--we talked about different topics, joked around, and she even made me laugh and forget where I was. All of this happened while she continually made sure I wasn't experiencing any discomfort. She explained in detail the findings from my dental exam and provided clear recommendations to address specific issues. She also pointed out the areas that needed immediate attention and created a personalized care plan tailored to my exact needs. Overall, my visit to Sonrisas Dentales was the best experience I have ever had in a dental office.

She had her tooth worked on for 5 hours with lots of blood and pain. Then 3 months later, it fell out. It was devastating to go through it all again. After another 5 hours of attitude, blood and pain....eventually, it broke. Dentist are not surgeons even if they pretend they are! Then Dr. Bravo and her staff screamed and disrespected my daughter over the phone and told her she was banded from the office. They said she would not get any of her money back. Next, she went to Oral Facial Dentist Kevin L. Payton, D. D. S. He sid that her roots were so thin and the tooth was ground away so much that it couldn't support the post and crown. She should have never been convinced to get that root canal. What she really needed was her tooth extracted and an implant added, which is what Dr. Payton did in stages. His technique takes up to 8 months because he does one process and then lets it heal and then the next step. He is nothing like the butcher Dr. Bravo. She and her staff (who wouldn't even tell me their names) are corrupt and disgraceful liars. They use patients to take their money and cause them pain and suffering. Never go here!

On Nov. 29, 2021, I was in severe pain and went to Dr. Bravo because she lists "Endodontics" among…read moreher services. Turns out she is clearly NOT an Endodontist (root canal specialist). She's a general dentist who does root canal procedures based on some training. Her treatment plan involved removing my crown and putting "medicine" inside the root of the infected tooth. She wanted to discard my fine porcelain crown, place a temporary crown for the medicine applications, and finally do the root canal and then put in a new crown. An office worker informed me that one patient had to have the crown removed 6 times to insert this special medicine before the pulp of the root was cleared of the infection! This didn't make sense, so I very respectfully requested a referral to an endodontist for a 2nd opinion. (Spoiler alert: Eventually, a highly-skilled endodontist in Hollywood saved my crown by doing the root canal right through it, in one procedure, at a lower cost, covered by insurance! A week of antibiotics cured the gum infection. No need for all the painful, drawn-out "medicine" procedures Bravo Dental so strongly recommended. Note: I waited nearly five weeks to make sure everything was okay with the affected tooth, before writing this review.) The Bravo Dental office manager said I can get a 2nd opinion with a real endodontist, but Dr. Bravo absolutely refuses to give any referrals because she does root canals herself. Her treatment plan was nearly $4,000 and I was in pain, yet they made me wait for 3 days to see if my insurance would cover the cost! After 3 painful days, they said my insurance would cover only half, leaving me to pay nearly $2,000. The office manager actually told me if I go to an endodontist, it would cost much more and my upgraded Medicare dental insurance would not cover any specialists. She was so wrong! I called my insurance and they cover me 100% for an endodontist specialist. Nowadays, many Endodontists require a referral from your general dentist before they will make an appointment for a 2nd opinion. Dr. Bravo still refused to give a referral--she wanted the business for herself. Her office staff finally sent my X-rays via email, but in a coded file format that I couldn't even open. Another day lost waiting for them to resend the X-rays in an accessible file format. The endodontist received the X-rays but also needed Dr. Bravo's clinical notes. Two more painful days were lost waiting for the office manager to get around to emailing the clinical notes. Finally, I got to see a real Endodontist. I can't warn other patients strongly enough, if you need a root canal, go to a general dentist that will give you a quick referral to an endodontist/specialist. Bravo Dental may be fine for general dental procedures.

She was able to get us in on a short notice Friday at 9:00am. We found the building which is pretty ugly but whatever. Took the elevator to the second floor and going suite 206. We walked in to a sky blue painted waiting room with old chairs. To rung the bell and someone attended us immediately. Filled some new client paperwork and immediately took us in and my girl got her X-rays done. I wish they would invest some money on the appearance of the waiting room. The exam room has grey tiles and beige colored walks. No decorations on the walls to look at. Everything seemed cleaned and organized. The office manager came in and said out insurance only covers x amount and she would give us 50% off. We paid so contributed with the cleaning. The ONLY THING THAT BOTHERED ME, was the fact that I saw a syringe and needle in a sterilization pack. I asked the tech what it was and she said we inject the gums with chlorhex. In general everyone was pretty nice but the Dr didn't smile or make you feel comfortable.
