the staff gave my friend the death stare upon entrance then refused to give us a refund when we walked in to see the whole pool was taken over by a lifeguard class. will not be coming back

I'll deduct one star because it's not open year-round. Now, I understand this pool is not as cool as Barton Springs or as historic as Stacy. And yes, it's chlorinated. (It's about $3 to get in.) But ask yourself the following questions: 1) Do I hate cold water? 2) Do I hate small swimming pools crowded with small kids? 3) Do I hate having to struggle to find a parking spot, when all I want to do is lolly gag in a pool for about 30 minutes, maybe do a couple of laps? If you've answered "yes" to all of the above, mark your calendars for next May 27. While the shallow end is full of kids (there is a smaller wading pool for the real tiny ones, though), the lane is most always empty (definitely wide enough for two people). The pool is 50 meters in length. It's warm. It's got a great diving board into the 12' deep end, and you don't have to wait in life for it. It might even be in your neighborhood, if you're lucky. Dates/times of operation: May 27-August 6, 8 AM - 9 PM August 7-13, 12 PM - 7 PM

The Littles standing in the pool and touching the bottom, they loved it!

The water is just right on a hot day. The trees and park are really pretty. Parking is always easy.

Awful staff, very rude. Don't expect to use the restroom if you're at the park and are paying for other services produced there.

Deep Eddy Pool is an Austin institution! I spent many years at deep Eddie pool with family, friends…read moreand colleagues. It's nothing like swimming on a hot summer day. Your first impression of the pool will probably be wow it's large with so many lanes and many areas where you can just swim or float to your hearts content. Another impression might be and it was especially for me the bright blue water of the pool. It looks refreshing, cool, and inviting. Deep Eddiy pool has a oblong shape typical of large pools of its size. The pool has architecturally clean lines with precise corners. When you stand on the pool platform the vastness of the pool rushes to the forefront. Everytime I stick my foot in the water of the Deep Eddy pool, that cool refreshing feeling envelopes my body. Entry fees are very reasonable and can beas low as $2 per day. Paid parking is available in front of the pool and on the street. Nice relaxing self-care day...

Ok if you're desperate for some water…read more The water was crisp and cool even on a 99° day in August Half the pool is designated for swimming laps. There are no lounge chairs so bring a blanket for the ground and expect it to get dirty because people have to sit in the grass/dirt. There are a few trees for shade. No alcohol or food/drink allowed. I brought in my water bottle and no one said anything so I guess water is ok There is a parking lot but you must pay to park and it gets filled quickly Bike trails lead up to it Locker rooms are half indoor/half outdoor and rather dingy. Several lifeguards on duty. periodically they make everyone get out of the pool for 5 min (one an hour?) There needs to be someone skimming the pool throughout the day..there's a ton of bugs/leaves that get in the water. Also, since people lounge on the dirt lawn, everyone's feet are dirty when getting in the pool. The pool ropes had some sort of black sludge caked into them. It was pretty gross. $5 for an adult. Free for veterans.

Great pool. HOA is doing great on keeping it up and adding more things for everyone to use. I wish…read moreit would be open more.

I dont care for this pool at all…read more First of all the HOA has a really hard time keeping up with this place, it is always getting vandalized and the HOA is always have to put more money into the place all the time, its not even worth it when more than half of your HOA budget goes a pool that is only open about 4 months out of the year. Complete waste of money. Also, there is almost no shade around this place. The one shaded area is always dirty and actually pretty far away from the pool. Since this is more of a family pool, I wish they had triple the shade. Its like a giant tank of water in the middle of a hot field. Each year I try the keycard they give us and it is always wrong, then it takes weeks to get back to the HOA to get you a new card so you can actually use the pool like you should. This has happened every year to me. Keycard system is great, when it works and the lifeguards really enforce the rules, so when the key does not work, they stare at you through the gate saying, too bad. And the lifeguards are rude. They probably have to with a lot of crap, but they have always been rude to me and I dont know why we cant hire people that live in Austin, for some reason we hire people from the czech or something as an exchange program. I dont know why because the language barrier is an issue sometimes.

As a tourist this was not what I was expecting. It was actually 10x better. This was a nice local…read morespot I'm happy we were able to learn about and had time to visit. It's a pretty big park, offering several different landscapes and activities. Great for families and outings with friends. The city views were beautiful. The forest and springs had that cooling effect that made the hot sun bearable. The springs were cold but very refreshing once fully submerged. A little too cold for my water loving 2 yr old. He also didn't like the green algae but still enjoyed the experience. Warning: VERY SLIPPERY in the springs and uneven rocky trails in some areas. Have water shoes if you don't like to be barefoot. The bottom of the springs swimming section feels smooth; slippery with some uneven dips. We stayed on the approved 4ft or less side for my kid's life vest. Bring a float or rent a canoe to enjoy the deeper waters. Pro:There are several ADA ramps we could have used for the stroller. As 1st time visitors we took some risky chances trekking down rocky slopes and too many stairs that wasn't necessary. Find the ramps. Con: Multiple entrances and parking. We were almost defeated by the parking situation on a Saturday early afternoon (1pm). We drove around over an hour looking for a spot in the many parking lots closer to the swimming pool section. With so many entries and people barely leaving it was a constant flow of new cars swooping in forcing us into lot loops. So close to turning back, we kept following the water trail and figure there had to be another way to the water! Bingo we parked on the other side of swimming section and took the 12 min walk directly through the fields to the pool area. If you're like us you'll drive around the parking lots so much you'll learn the landscapes. Must pay for parking. We got a ticket after following the advice that there are no parking fees on the weekend. Don't listen just pay the hourly rate parking fees. Swimming Pool Fee: There is a minimum fee associated with entering the springs. Fees are tiered by age and residence. As non-residents we only paid $13 ($9 adult/$4 young kid). Veterans are free, no ticket, must show VA ID. Reasonable fees for the amenities, especially the life guards and bathrooms. Downloading the app is easier and faster than standing in line at the credit card kiosks. The teller windows are a little faster but, cash only, We were pleasantly excited to also take advantage of the playground and train ride. Super cute. 2 year old loved both. Highly recommended for visitors who like to explore, be in nature and community, and stay cool.

What an interesting experience in 2026...rules rules rules!…read more I don't remember a lot of these limitations but I honestly think they're great: no speakers, only 16.9 fl oz water bottles, no gum or food, cash only except if you pay at the kiosk (still only $5). There was a man walking around politely policing everyone and it was really cool how he was doing it -- super friendly and respectful. I was there on a weekday and it was super crowded. The lifeguards were absolutely on top of their duties and that was super reassuring. They're doing everything they can to preserve the culture and atmosphere and it is super obvious. The water is cold...enjoy! But after a 15 minute doggy paddle or float, you'll feel the mystical healing properties of this majestical pool. I promise. My biggest headache was the kiosks and parking: the kiosks were having a hard time connecting to the network and two of the three actually shut down as well as parking being free but no postings or signage showing that it was.
