I literally followed the pavement, which was helpful because there were signs that told you the distance and which way to go. I needed some time to clear my mind before I started my day & it was so pleasant to be surrounded by such pretty views. There were other people walking, running & biking the trail. Being that it is May, the weather was hot & humid however I made sure to arrive early in the morning before it got too hot. Even though there were restaurants in the surrounding area, the whole entire trail was maintained & clean. I highly recommend visiting this trail. It was really beautiful!

A guy passing by said he used live minnow the other day, and that's what they like, so maybe we'll try that soon. They do sell bait and minnow here. It was $3.49 for a dozen live minnow and $6.49 for a bag of frozen shad. $8 per person. $1 per additional rod. Bathrooms are pretty clean. The fishing barge is located at the end of the pier. Enter through the main store. There's an inside fishing area in the barge with a rectangular hole where you drop your line in. I didn't go there because there are people in there smoking up a storm. We fished outside at the end of the barge facing the lake. Be careful if you choose this spot because you can get your line snagged very easily, especially on the right side. 3 stars for paying $8 and no fish and also for losing 3 lures from snags.

The property is beautiful and very well maintained. We went on a wagon ride and saw all sorts neat animals and learned about them from the guide. We rented fishing poles ($5) and went fishing in the stocked pond. We played with young antelopes, found turtles, and hunted for frogs and snails. We jumped in a canoe and paddled around the small lake. Stand up boards, kayaks and peddle boats are also available (unfortunately the peddle boats were out of commission today). We played sand volleyball, badminton, shuffleboard and horse shoes. Face painting, bounce houses and snacks all available too. A few more games were up on the deck as well as ducklings to pet. A wonderful way to spend the day with the family. We'll definitely be back!

This review is long overdue. I had the pleasure of fishing with Ben in late November 2019. I was…read moreable to parlay a business trip into an extended weekend and having never been to Texas decided to scratch Texas Largemouth fishing off my bucket-list. Setting up my outing was very easy. Ben was very responsive and even though I was setting things up close to my trip he was able to accommodate me. There was some nasty weather forecast so since I had the whole weekend available we decided to play it by ear and make the call to fish the day before. We fished Joe Pool Lake and left the boat dock at sunrise, it was a chilly 33 degrees that morning! We hit some of Ben's favorite spots and it wasnt long before I got the first fish in the boat. I didnt catch any huge fish that day, but I did catch numbers. Long story short we were laughing so much and having such a great time I decided to extend my half-day charter to a full day (thank you Ben for accommodating!) We fished well past sunset as Ben was determined to get me a big bass... alas it wasnt meant to be. Ben has a clean bass-boat in great condition, well organized tackle and higher-end rods and reels. He was very gracious in getting me re-rigged, and unsnagging me while handing me a new rod to use in the meantime. He was able to accommodate my rod/reel preferences as well (spinning, bait-casting, etc.) We fished exclusively artificial lures my trip and he was open me to bringing my own gear also. I am planning on taking my teenage son down to fish some Texas bass and will definitely be seeing Ben's guide services when I do. Thanks Ben!

Very patient and easy going. He has all the equipment you might need or you can being your favorite rod and reel. If you want to keep your catch for a tasty meal (nothing like fresh fish). Steve will filet the fish for you so you can take your catch home. Steve doesn't use live bait. That's cheating. This is real fishing. It's active fishing so come prepared to cast (and catch) A LOT of fish. July is great for top water action. The big catfish come in November and December. There is no bad time of year at Lake Lewisvillle. If you are looking for a great time and a fantastic guide, look no further. Steve is the best!!!
