I rarely leave public reviews, but because this involves medical care, I feel it's important to…read moreshare. I've been a patient of Dr. Love for more than 10 years and even brought my family to his office. He has always seemed competent and trustworthy, and I've relied on him through some of my most challenging health issues. Recently, however, I received a letter dismissing me from the practice over an unpaid $136 balance I didn't know existed. I was told letters and a voicemail were sent, but I never received them. With six people in our household, it's possible mail was misplaced but I have never been late on a payment in over a decade of care. I always paid small copays when in the office if necessary. A quick look at my record would have shown this was unusual. Ending a long-standing patient relationship over a small balance and a simple miscommunication, especially during one of the most difficult health periods of my life, is deeply disappointing. I've been in the office multiple times for this health issue, and my annual physical was scheduled this same month. I would have gladly paid the balance had I known. To make matters worse, my conversation with the office manager was frustrating and lacked any empathy. When I expressed my concern, she simply asked, "What should we do if there's a balance and we can't reach you?" A better approach would be to review each situation individually and consider a patient's history before making such a harsh decision. After 10+ years of trust, I was treated like a number. This experience has been disheartening. I can't imagine Dr. Love is aware of how his office is being managed, but I hope this feedback helps ensure no other long-time patient is dismissed so abruptly over a modest balance and poor communication

I have been w/ HHHN since 2013 or so. I started getting very ill & my primary didnt care to figure…read moreout what it was, just kept throwing pills at me. She got angry that I wouldn't let it go & poopoo'd every idea. She refused my request for physical therapy because she didn't think I would do the work. I ended up finding a new doctor within the network whom I thought the world of. He was a newer doctor, they hadn't crushed his Hope & want to help people yet. I've seen him for 8 years or so but it's gotten to the point I can't actually see him. Reception is great, some nurses are great, some are quite rude, cut you off, act like you should be honored that they are taking you blood pressure (around the elbow, not kidding) The nurses that triage the portal have been awful lately, I get that they need to save the doctor time but many times they have written back and not bothered to address my question. I turned out to have multiple chronic illnesses, you know, all the ones the first doctor poo poo'd, I also ended up in the hospital because of her crappy care. At my appointment, I was pissed but I hardly say a thing when I'm mad, I did say a couple things that I totally own. But when I got my care report it was like the doctor and I were at two different appointments. He said I was irate but he said the reason was over having to take a urine screen, that makes no sense, I was there for my controlled medicine check, you always get screened. he always typed in and put in quotations a bunch of things that I did not say. if I didn't know what really happneed & only read this (which goes to the next doctor) I would think this person was a drug seeker and picture this huge scene happening. no one's voice raised. I am beyond angry that he could use his position to do such a thing,

As another reviewer wrote, if I could, I would give zero stars. My latest experience (it's been a…read morecouple of years since my last interaction with Hudson Headwaters) was less than worthless. In the exam room, I waited for 2 hours while attendants came in and looked for stuff in cabinets and gave me no attention. A nurse did finally come in after 2 hours, checked the cut on my finger that had brought me to urgent care because of tingling up my arm and checked my reflexes. She said she'd get a doctor to look at it. About 25 minutes later, a doctor came in, looked briefly at my finger, and said it was OK. That was it. When I got to the check-out and asked for my bill and the summary of the visit which I'd been told I would be given, I was told there was no summary and no charge. (I figured that was because so little had been done.) But around 10 days later, I got an online bill for $273! When I called the number I was told to call for billing or insurance issues, I called--left an extended message--and got no return call for 24 hours! Today I opened the HH email again and see that I owe nothing--but no explanation of their error. I am not even sure whether I actually DO owe nothing (my usual insurance copay is $25). I called and left another extended message. Do I expect a call back? G-d knows!

On Wed, 10/18/23, I had a colonoscopy at Gastroenterology Associates of Northern NY at 5 Irongate…read moreCenter, Glens Falls, NY, 12801. The procedure was done by Dr. Michael Chase. I believe I was given too much anesthesia. I also believe I received very poor follow-up care from the practice. When the procedure was done, the practice called my partner, Donna, to come pick me up. Over the phone, the nurse told her that a polyp had been removed and cauterized. The nurse said I could resume all my usual medications that night. A little surprised, Donna asked if that included my blood thinner, Eliquis. The nurse hesitated but eventually said yes. When Donna arrived at the clinic, she called to let them know she was there. She waited in the parking lot for a little while and eventually a nurse brought me out in a wheelchair and said they couldn't get me to wake up. She also said they had revised instructions about my meds and I should hold the Eliquis until 11/1/23. They got me into the car and Donna brought me home. I don't remember any of this. Donna got me home and in bed around 4:30 PM. I finally woke up around 7:30 PM and asked what time it. I had no idea if it was that evening or the following morning until she clarified it for me. I got up, sat in our living room, had a glass of water, and promptly vomited all over myself. She got me cleaned up and back to bed. I was out for the night. The next morning, I got up at around my usual 7 AM. I went into the bathroom and almost immediately threw up again. I felt a lot of nausea and a headache. We waited for the practice to open and called in. Dr Chase called back and told me to go to my primary care physician. He wouldn't see me. This surprised me but I did it. Irongate Family Practice saw me that day and prescribed an anti-nausea medication. I did stop vomiting but the headache and nausea continued. On Sat. AM, 10/21, I called Dr Chase's office. He was the physician on call that day. He did call back but once again refused to see me and told me to go to my primary care. We went back and forth about this for a while. Irongate was also involved in the discussion. Dr Chase eventually said I should go to the ER; he wouldn't see me. I clearly wasn't going to get any help from him. Donna brought me to Glens Falls Hospital ER. The hospital treated my with IV fluids and some medication. They did full examinations to make sure there were no injuries in my abdomen. After about 4 hours, the nausea and headache ended and they released me with a prescription for anti-nausea meds. My stomach continued to be sensitive for a little while. I had diarrhea for a few days, then one day of extreme constipation which passed by late Wednesday, 10/25/23. No matter what my symptoms, I will NEVER have another procedure done at Gastroenterology Associates. I will NEVER recommend them to friends or family or strangers.
